Kale, spinach, dandelion greens - always have to get in those greens! Everything else is just a blessing! I do love a chocolate almond butter oat smoothie though too! Love the inspiration your videos always give us. Thanks for sharing!
almonds, cashews, walnuts, peanut butter, a brazil nut, hemp seeds, flax seeds, dates, frozen mango, strawberries and blueberries, a banana, tiny bit of ginger, some goji berries, oats, soy mllk. not only tastes great but I swear this milkshake cured my lifelong IBS problems
I add mild white beans to the usual ingredients (banana, strawberries, kale, etc). Adds protein plus fiber and a range of vitamins. I use alubia blanca beans from Rancho Gordo for this. They are small, very mild, and have very thin skins. You'll never know they are there.
@@nichellegarrett8467 It’s usually ginger water/ tea. I steep ginger in water at the beginning of the week and keep it in the fridge but I have been known to use pineapple juice…specifically the organic one from Costco.
Thanks for this I got diagnosed with ulcerated colitis today so I'm hoping being plant based helps me recover. I'm going to try all of these. I'm happy to see a healthy strong vegan to follow because I hope to still be strong living this way also.
I can sit and listen to you for hours..your tone is soothing and the rate at which you speak is wonderful and makes this relaxing....the explations and teachings are top tier. Liking and subscribing. Side note..i never thought the sound of the sliding the dishes would bother me but it does ever so slightly...but i just turn the volume down a little during those parts and keep on learning🙂. I know that might be other people's favorite part.
Thank you thank you thank you! My 2 year old has a ton of allergies and I am constantly trying to find ways to get protein into her diet because her toddler taste buds change daily. These are incredible. I cannot thank you enough!!!! Excited to try this week.
Not just a smoothie, a liquid meal 😋...my favorite smoothie is made with coconut milk, passion fruit, pineapple, watercress, and pure wild cane juice (pressed). Yummy!
I just found your channel and I absolutely love it. The quality of videos are right on and I love the recipe part it's so relaxing .. love that you just sit down and talk about each recipe and elaborate on it. Not to mention the recipes are delicious and not horribly complicated to make! Well done! 🤗
I started doing green smoothies years ago and loved them but now I’m kind of tired of them. Watching your video I realized I’m tired of my recipes I need to try yours. Thanks!
My 3 year old and I stumbled on your channel and we LOVE it. She requested we try your strawberry smoothie in this video and it has been a hit! We cant wait to try the others. Thank you for sharing!
My new fav for protein and energy is: Banana, chocolate oat milk, oats, vegan vanilla protein powder, vegan collagen powder, PB and some coffee = 41g protein!
The classic banana, blueberry and strawberry has always been my go to... I've started adding pineapple and oats at times... but I've also grown to love my kale, beets and ginger as I got older... also seamoss... I usually put a scoop if the "Whole Trilogy" health seeds (Flax, Chia and Hemp) by Badia as well
Can you make a video talking about your journey when you switched to veganism? What made you switch or why you switched? Was it a hard decision? What vegan dishes were you eating in the beginning? Did you ever relapse (lol)? Just an informative video on how you got to where you are now. I’m an omnivore but these videos interest me and make me think that maybe I could make the switch to, or at least add more healthy options to my diet.
No matter what recipe I start to do, I end up adding all the things I think I need for the nutrient. for example, I always add both chia and flax, always use dates, use the left over oat stuff from making oat milk, always add more than one kind of green including a good quality (meaning contamination checked) algae or spirulina, lemon, and barberries for high antioxident and nutrient content. The fruits are variable, but they come out similar. I get you on the blender. The amount of money I save on sun nut butter, milks, and cheese sauces, is pretty cool. I may have paid for the blender through that money saved.
Hemp and chia seeds with kale will always make me full for hours. It kind of gets to the point where the smoothie is hard to finish because it’s so filling.
Recently decided to do a 💯 plant based diet, after reading so many benefits. As a mostly dairy using vegetarian it was really the next step 😉 trying to learn a new way to cook and get balanced nutrients macro/micro has been my challenge. Your recipes have been a great help, thank you. It was recently suggested to incorporate smoothies to up my protein which has been hovering the 30g area daily. Other then adding a pea powder I have been contemplating how to do this without needing a vegan protein powder (added expense). Then bam here’s your fantastic spot on video!!!! Again thanks 👍🏽
I am finding it easy to be completely without meat. Still trying to work on knowing if I have enough protein. Your recipes are a delight. These and your other videos. They help as my family and I continue on this journey. Thank you so much for what you do and for checking in to see how we are doing as well.
@@elizabethlampi7667 I'm not the person doing the videos. I'm viewing just like you because I'm into wellness. I'm happy to converse with you in this way though. You can tell if you're getting enough protein from your vegan diet by the way you're functioning and looking. Do you exercise as well? Are your husband and children on the same diet as you??!
My smoothie includes frozen or fresh: kale and spinach, frozen riced cauliflower, frozen: pineapple, banana, mango and 1/4 cup old fashioned oats, 1 Tbs each chia and flax, plus water. Sometimes it's too much frozen items and I have to add a lot of water. But the water hydrates my body in the morning and yes, it's like I drink/chew my salad and fruit for breakfast. I was adding JOI oat powder but cut that out to reduce calories. Linda
I wonder if warm water would be good. Maybe even hot water? To counterbalance how cold smoothies can be when lots of the ingredients are frozen. One liquid I love is coconut water though can be expensive. Also nut milks.
My Vitamix is about 30 yrs old. My latest smoothies are called "Chunkies," Once your special smoothie is fully mixed, I add in either/or both of the following: cocoa nibs, organic granola, nuts of your choice or whatever you can think of and pulse till the chunkies are blended in to create a Blizzard-like creation, but without a straw.
Fantastic!!! I now have the tools to ramp up the protein easily in my daily smoothies. I like to forage and add dandelion, plantain, nasturtium as well as greens and herbs I grow. Love your content 😃
I made the high protein vegan smoothie, and boy. I drank it at 9am, and was still FULL by 3:30pm. Like, what?? Most smoothies make me hungry soon after. I also added a frozen banana. I actually don’t love super cold smoothies and I like that this was room temp to cool. Thanks for these recipes! Also instead of almond butter I used Kirkland Signature Mixed Nut butter and also add 2 little dates.
Been vegan for 12 years! Couple of things to add about protein. The American diet has way too much protein. Also, kale has 2.9 grams of protein per cup. Sooo fruits and veggies also have protein which most people don't know. Its still a great idea to start with a base of protein but a high fiber diet of fruits and veggies have protein as well.
Just tried the Pina colada one substituted spinach for kale (didn’t have) and 💥 so good!!! Thanks for your videos! It’s helping to get my heath and stomach back! 🙏🙏
love this! Sometimes i just dont have protein powder in the house, but everything else ive got! Giving these a try asap, especially that peanut strawb combo 🤩 love that these are whole food based!
banana, berries, mango, beets (for a rich purple color), kale or spinach, 1/2 an avocado (for creaminess), ginger, mint, cinnamon, kefir coconut water, chia seeds, topped with pumpkin seeds butter (love the contrast of the green with the purple), hemp hearts, and crushed nuts (walnut and brazil) or granola 😋 perfect way to start the day!!!
I just found your channel incredible. I am 63 fatty liver pre diabetic so it is time for a huge change. I have had a vitamix since early 91 and they rock. I was a vegetarian for 13 years time to get back to it. No more candy, ice cream , red meat, chicken or cheese. I gave up milk in 91. I just need to be careful about sugar. I saw one of your dinners great dang I am in. Bless you Andrew I will be back. I am subscribed.
I use pb fit to Get extra protein, its pretty high in protein with way less fat, I also don't use ice and use frozen fruit or coconut water for sweetener or dates, thank for the recipes
I tried the Green Vegan Protein Smoothie and it was delicious. My son even liked it and I didn’t tell him that it included silken tofu. This was my first time using silken tofu. I made one substitute for agave. I used honey instead and didn’t need it because of the pineapple and banana. I will definitely try this recipe again and plan to make the other ones next. Thanks for sharing your great recipes. They are amazing and appreciated❤
I really like the music you add as a background to your videos, Andrew! I've been watching your videos as I've been struggling to eat eat better and more humanely recently and they have been a great inspiration. Thank you! If you are looking for video ideas, perhaps I can offer a suggestion? My lady and I struggle to eat high protein vegan diets because one of us hates beans. So perhaps some high protein meals directed towards people who tend to avoid legumes?
If you don’t like beans in general, there are surprisingly tolerable ways to get them into your diet. The silken tofu in the smoothie is one way, but I also add an ounce of plain, drained navy beans in my smoothies - they are so mild, you can’t even tell they’re in there! I’ve also puréed navy beans and added them to soups; even my omnivore spouse, who also doesn’t like beans, couldn’t tell they were in there. Good luck 😊
Thanks for these new smoothie recipes. I've enjoyed them... well, the two that I've tried (the green smoothie and the peanut butter banana-modified with almond butter). I do plan to try the third, as well. I also really appreciate your take on using what you already have in your fridge and just your overall attention to budget throughout your videos. Thanks for all you and Larissa do!
I would make a smoothie almost every day for work, and I would just pour it into an insulated cup with a lid - even a regular travel coffee mug type thing would work here. Anything that can hold temperature will keep it pretty optimal for at least 2-4 hours (depending on your cup). I would stick it in my locker and it would be there for me at my 2 hr break or my lunchbreak 4 hrs in. My go-to is: small avocado one (fresh) apple, peeled and sliced a sm handful frozen peach slices bit of ginger big handful of baby spinach apple juice Low in protein, so in this case it's more like a healthy snack than a lunch, though in a pinch (or on a hot day when I can't be bothered) it gets me through. It's probably the avocado.
I freeze my smoothies in mason jars all the time! It works great, just takes a bit to defrost. It's perfect if you're taking the smoothie to-go and will drink 30 min to an hour later! A metal straw is great to help break up the ice clump if you're impatient. I love the idea of adding silken tofu to a smoothie - I've never done that before! Can't wait to try it (: Thanks for the video!
@@supernova622 hmm that’s never been a problem for me before! Good quality glass and minimizing drastic changes in temperature are definitely important factors! Also, water expands when it freezes so smoothies will too - leave some space at the top of the jar. I also just saw a tip online to make sure you don’t have many mason jars packed together or else they don’t have room to expand and will clang against each other increasing the risk of breakage… I keep mine right next to each other in my freezer door and it’s been fine but now I’ll keep that in mind.
I subscribed to your channel today,I’ve watched a lot of RU-vid videos on healthy smoothies and all, however I think that I’m looking for more info on staying healthy. Thanks for sharing your video.❤
great northern beans, creamy goodness that is easy to hide, another good bulker for low calories is cauliflower.. Frozen riced cauliflower can be great. You could add some Xanthan gum to this and it would fluff it up some and give you a thicker icecream consistency... I may or may not be making some of my own recipes with some of these ideas ;)
I just came across your channel and I'm already obsessed! You're very good at explaining and it's super simple to follow and my easily distracted mind thanks you for that! Haha! Looking forward to more content!
Random info on the mason jars --> freezable jars have have straight sides. Non-freezable jars curve inward at the opening making what they call "shoulders".
i’ve noticed that using thawed frozen fruit brings out the flavor of the frozen fruit better. i just put all of the frozen ingredients in a container in the fridge to thaw the night before so it’s ready to blend the next day.
Pulls up YT. Oh, I was just thinking about smoothies as the weather warms. But I don't have time to watch this. But it's the Nard Dog. Great info on starting with the protein first. And I've never used tofu in my smoothies. So great. Thanks.
At my old job I was pregnant and under weight my boss used to make me a peanut jelly shake. PEANUTBUTTER,STRAWBERRIES AND ALMOND MILK. Now I see I can add I can add other things to make this more healthy! Thanks
Nice video, frozen bananas 🍌 for the win 🥇 they make things thick. I slice mine and freeze 🥶 them. Plant milk 🥛, frozen banana, cacao powder, & nut butter. Yummmmm
Of all the things I put in smoothies, I never even thought about oats. Off to whir up breakfast now! (What were those straws made of? They looked kinda like cinnamon sticks.)
my fav most preferred blender is this vitamix amzn.to/3dvyKcu (i had to save for a long time to get this one), but my second more easier priced one is this nutibullet amzn.to/3DK5k5k . I love them both because they do EVERYTHING!
I prefer room-temp smoothies; quicker to consume and easier on the sensitive teeth. Back when I pumped the iron I made a 1000-calorie shake with nut butters, oats, protein powders, bananas, and olive oil. Olive oil was perfect for the extra calories without adding volume. Coconut oil worked too.
That looked so yummy I think its mean that I had to watch it LOL. my favorite it is coconut yogurt, oat milk, cucumber, mango and pineapple with fresh ginger and coriander.
These look so good and satisfying. Now are these smoothies for fat loss ? I do believe that these smoothies are good for weight training tho which would be perfect 👍 Thanks for sharing ❤
Why, I don't know, but I've been sleeping on smoothies. Found your channel and have become mesmerized by how sexy you make making smoothies look. Now I'm headed out to get ingredients that I never considered putting into a smoothie. Gracias
I heard your suppose to sork the chia seeds first and then add them to Foo and or smoothies. This is so because of its absorbent nature. It can dehydrate you if you eat it unsoaked often enough. Anybody else heard this?
