Bit late to the party, but I went with the SIG OEM extended magwell grips. My big meaty mitts like big gun, and the magwell flare also provides a fair bit more support to the hand. Feels more duty-size, when before it was just barely long enough to fill the hand. The magwell is nice too, but even with Mec-Gar 18rd mags it's a bit long, so you basically gotta-run 20s. they're identical to new stock grips, just longer, so they also have the classic SIG SAUER / P226 text which i will never tire of.
I have a mk25 that i love but I really like the purchase I get on the 226 legion. Seems a little thinner and seems like I can get my hand deeper in the grip. Do these grips get your hand a little further forward than stock? Or are they the same width with just different texture than the stock 226 or mk25?
Got 'em today and installed. These are VERY nice. Way better grip than the stock panels! Got me a trigger bar spring & recoil spring ordered as well so I will be 'caught up' to this video. I own an Elite Stainless P226 so I can't wait to drop an SRT kit into my W. German copy! Probably do that and the trigger upgrade (I need a bit thinner trigger to reach properly with my girl hands ... :( ) Cheers!
Great video and beautiful sigs. Quick question how do the ergonomics compare between the hogue magwell grips and the e2 grips? I particular the L.O.P. or length from the qebbingof your hand to the trigger. I love the e2 grip but I also love the option of a magwell grip but I don't wanna sacrifice a slimmer grip for something that's beefier for a magwell. Look forward to your reply.
Hi Ray, I recently bought the grips you mentioned (23159) for my MK25 but it will not fit on the side with the de-cocker and slide catch lever (the other side of the grip fits perfect). I had called Hogue prior to ordering and was told they would fit the MK25 but found out after they were delivered they are for the X-five DA/SA. I'm debating whether or not to try modifying as they really are the closest to what is on the Legion. Steve Jenkins - do you have any thoughts on this?
Hi, You seem pretty knowledgeable about the P226. I have bought some pachmayr full signature grips for my P226-E2 and it came with 1 screw pre-installed on the left side with a retaining clip to hold the screw in and can not find why or what 226 this is for? It looks like New Old stock. Any info would be appreciated.
fyi: i have hogue g10's on both my mk25-deserts. one has the checkered, the other the chain link. the chain links are WAY slimmer than the checkered, which are pretty much the same bulkiness as the factory grips.
Hi i just bought the p226 SAO legion and didnt relaize every 10k rounds you are supposed to change springs. Changing springs on polymere pistols like the p320 is so easy but the p226 seems a bit tedious. I also learned everytime you remove grip screws ypu are damaging the holes
Will the E2 strut and seat work for all the grip styles? My 227 came with E2s and I’m considering switching to hogue g10s... hopefully I don’t need to swap the mainspring assembly.
Yes it will work just fine. If your gun came with E2 grips, you can put any other grip on that you want, just make sure to buy a set of 4 grip screws as well. It's only when going from a gun that shipped with the normal grips to the E2 grip that you have to change out the hammer strut and seat and maybe the trigger return spring if it's an old West German made gun.
William Reese ive owned 4 mk25's. i shoot in my backyard, so i shoot alot. ive literally never had a malfunction with any of these guns. thats more than i can say for my glocks, and ive shot them waaaaay less than the sigs. no, no limpwristing.
