This is such a helpful video! I especially like the way you did the hairlight. I also like how you take things step-by-step and show us how each component of your lighting (including the V-flats) affects things. You have such a great teaching style. I will be practicing techniques from the video this week. Thank you for the helpful education and tips!

Hey Pye! Thank you for breaking this down for us. Could you do a tutorial on how to make the flash and the camera "talk"?

Great video and of course a very nice voice. Could listen for hours. I tried your setting but as my studio is a bit smaller it's not so easy to place the flashes (especially the rim light) in the same way.. Probably I have to mount something on the room sealing so I can mount the flash without a stand. I couldn't see any big difference with/without the V-Flats but I will use them in the next time to control reflections. Thanks a lot for your inspirations and valuable tipps. 👍👍👍

Great video! What lens are you using? I'm going to mimic this setup and use a 85mm, a 24-70mm, and a 70-200mm on my Nikon Z9. Thanks for your wonderful and instructional videos!

Nice video and setup. I tried this before, but the fill was much closer to subject (almost same distance as main light). I like your setup better.

Pye, great video as always, thank you for that. One question though.... I thought it's an R5 you're shooting with, didn't know they go down to ISO 50. Am I missing something? Thanks again for the awesome content. Seriously, they way you present it, makes so much sense and is so easy to understand.

It can be expanded to one stop below base and one stop above max ISO. Same as the 5D series.

I like that her deltoids are wider than pye's. She gets more buff and beautiful for every appearance. A good tutorial with a similar method to Karl Taylor showing each light in sequence.

Why not just put silver reflector in front of model on the floor? Instead of third fill light?
@pawl_s
@pawl_s 4 месяца назад
Probably because it would have to be placed on the floor, the effect could be weak. And with light you can control the fill strength by setting the power/moving the light.

I don’t understand why you need to turn the flashes on and off manually? Can this be done from a trigger?
