I like the look from the inside too; much better than cutting the circle and gluing the butterfly on. Looks more professional.

Why not just cut the circle out and glue on a butterfly on top of its edge? Most people won’t know the difference.

It's probably just personal preference. I know like me, the perfectionists out there, it looks more neat, clean and flawless. But if you don't want to, you totally don't have to 😊
