On one of the biggest weekends in school history, the Bobcats dominated the Grizzlies in a 55-21 victory behind another impressive performance from the offensive line and the run-game. A record crowd of 22,047 watched the Cats put up 439 rushing yards against the Griz, a team that has had the best run defense in the conference for most of the season. Defensively, Montana State looked stout for most of the game, and took advantage of the mistakes that were made by the Griz. Former Missoula Sentinel star Rylan Ortt got the first interception of his career, Jory Choate got a touchdown after he recovered a botched snap that went over the head of the punter and into the endzone, and Callahan O’Reilly got another fumble recovery on the goaline to prevent another UM touchdown. This huge Brawl of the Wild win guaranteed the Bobcats a top 4 seed in the playoffs, as well as a share of the Big Sky conference title with Sac State. The Bobcats will host the winner of Weber State and University of North Dakota on December 3rd in the Second Round of the FCS Playoffs.
