Agreed 110%! The more I look at newer cars, I’m glad I decided to save some money and go with the tried and true legend. It’s a great car. Enjoy it and congrats on the purchase!
It being yellow definitely helps plus it has all the benefits of the Z06 such as the wider body and none of the drawbacks (dropped valves). I always liked the styling of the GS it would certainly grab my attention if sitting in a parking lot, but I am a Corvette guy. 😁
Thanks for the kind words. Those are all the reasons I opted for this one. I was going to settle for a bland colored base, but I am glad I found this thing, despite its cosmetic flaws. I only hope to at some point even get this thing to 7/10ths what it can do.
I completely agree, when I owned my mustang I always had to modify something to be satisfied but I’ve owned my c6 for about a week and I love everything about it it’s absolutely perfect to me 🤝🤝

Lol, my 11' GS Manual eats Mustangs for lunch. One of my coworkers has a 14' 5.0 GT and he told me the other day he was selling it back to the guy he got it from and wants to upgrade to a C6 GS or a ZO6.
It’s diff kind of car for a diff kind of use. I don’t know why people compare Mustangs to Corvettes. It never made sense to me. I compare Corvettes and 911’s all the time as those are 2 cars I cross shopped heavily
Same here just picked up a C6 GS 6speed with 15k original miles 3 weeks ago already out almost 1500 miles on it and other than some carbon fiber accents I think I’m leaving the rest alone, possibly a AirIntake

They serve a purpose I guess. I mean I like my tech though. For a 90’s-2000’s sports car, I am content with the interior. That being said I just looked at an $85k Sierra Denali and was not the slightest bit impressed with the interior. So it depends on the scale really for me

I have done all the modifying things in the past and learned if you want a faster car, just sell it and buy one, mods never really work they always put something out of balance ending in a compromise.
I agree, once a week is just enough👍🏽 plus you keep the miles down, I want to enjoy the car slowly for a very long time instead of all the time for a short time
I love mine, but it is a modded street beast. If you don't plan on doing anything to it, the one mod I would still recommend would be an MGW shifter... very easy to do, and changes the whole feel of driving a stick in this car. As many have said, it's the shifter it should've come with, and you'll understand why once you use it.
After adding an mgw to my Last tr6060, I will not touch this thing. It shifts perfectly fine in stock form. I see no reason to change it. All my issues started with shifting in my GT500 is when I swapped the shifter.

@@frankw7266 k do honestly think it was related to how ford mounted that trans in that chassis. It shifts well though so I have no reason to change it at this point.

Bro, it may not be rare but it is special. The public thinks so. Everything is relative. I'd much rather pull up in a Corvette anywhere than a Lambo and if that makes me weird who cares.
Keeping it stock is wise. Mods never increase reliability. Own a 2009 base and find the LS3 engine more than adequate for driving on our Pennsylvania public roads. Push the magic button on the console to experience different driving modes before modding. May find that doing that minimizes the desire for performance mods. Stock Corvettes are far easier to sell than modded ones. Less issues too. Enjoy!
Agreed there too! I always ruin the balance of cars. But then again all my cars no matter if the top model or not, always has flaws. I wanted something that hit all the check marks. This seems to fit the bill well. Sometimes I feel I would enjoy more power or that awesome cam lope, but I always remind myself that I actually enjoy driving this thing and my wife doesn’t bitch on road trips in it. So if I keep it as is, chances are I will keep it for a longer period and not break it. Hahaha

With age come maturity and sensibility. I am a proud owner of a 2013 60th Anniversary Grand Sport Coupe and believe Chevrolet got everything right about this generation with the lines and curves and dependable power train.

@@andrewe4277 Many Corvette detractors never owned a Corvette. Bought a 2009 for $28k and sold it two years later for $27.5k to a local Chevy dealer. I am convinced that its stock condition was attractive versus a modded one. You have a great C6 and enjoy.
@nikkoalpha2 thank you. Good for thought though…. I just bought LT’s and an intake off a dealer that converted a stupid low mileage Gs back to stock. So you may be surprised that stock cars at dealers were returned to stock.
My 07 gt500 shifts like butter after I switched fluid out to Mobil 1 full synthetic atf it has an mgw and an rst clutch. I've heard you complain about the shifting or overall feel in your Shelby that Def has not been my experience. Mine used to be notchy and hard to shift ecsp when cold but once I changed fluid it's been fine. As far as aggressive driving I've always been able to snatch gears with the quickness with no issues it's a beast of a trans and feels great so not sure what the issue was with yours. As for your vette I like the c6 I would get one with an ls3 and do cam springs and boost with a 6060 of course if I ever went the vette route. Very cool cars. 😎
I am not the only person that has problems with shifting in the Gt500. I’m actually helping another guy that reached out to me for help and have advised many. I think that chassis is just a lost cause. Just my opinion, but I have had soooooooo many cars. That car had me questioning my abilities. I get into the Vette, and none of that has come about yet.
I am contemplating adding cameras to mine. It is seriously needed in these cars. The double din is a must have though in these cars. Which pioneer are you running? Which cameras?
@@PMPerformance I bought the top of the line pioneer Apple Play at Best Buy…the one with 2 camera plug ins…had real good installers and they hooked up a backup cam and then a bullet cam , which they screwed into the front…can’t even tell…had them do a quick disconnect in the engine compartment with the front cam..for when the drop the front bumper to hook up the new miramoto LED head lights and fog lights…tipped them a few bucks ..now no worries on scraping up the front end in parking lots
Ive owned 2 blazers, and 4 3rd gen Fbodys, a cavalier and now my silverado. The silverado is the only one that didnt have a cracked dash. When i think of quality interior GM doesn't cross my mind first.
Yes they are awesome for sure I myself have a 2011 GS 3lt manual Crystal Red metallic and yes they attract a lot of attention because they're awesome and don't put wheel spacers on it that was that's not good but yes enjoy it don't screw it up and get used to the attention it's part of the deal when you own one of those cars specially if it's nice mine's beautiful even though it's a 2011 it's only got 30,000 mi on it and looks brand new enjoy yourself.
1. Corvettes are that special thats why people do that. 2. Interior on these are good. What more do you really need? The interior bashing is over used and little unfair. My red/black interior with grand sport stitched into the head rest would like to talk. Lol
I would love to have the embroidered seats and arm rest. I dunno, for some reason they were never all that special to me. I always thought they were decently common. Don’t get me wrong, I love the car, they just never really snapped my neck and made me want to take pics of a stock one when seeing it in a lot or on the highway.

@@PMPerformance i do feel the 2-tone with stitched headrest & arm rest give it that little boost it needs and custom floor mats. Those small items really add up to a beautiful site.
@@PMPerformance i got lucky and found a red one with the cross flags in red on ebay randomly. Took a year to find a “old stock” new one. Still yet to see a GS one pop up for sale in any color. For sure add to the look. I did see a jake skull one on ebay in yellow i think. Take a look.

I may not even touch it. Typically intakes give very little to nill gains. The filter on these just sits basically into the tube. It doesn’t even protrude. Strange setup honestly
I have since done a few mods and recently just got it tuned a dyno! Stay tuned in the next week or so for an update video. There have been a few install videos since this one. It’s a completely different car now
Can you show what kind of mpg’s your getting? Like cruising between 70-75 and what’s your average mpg with mixed city/highway driving is? I wanted to see what the difference is between the base c6 and the widebody c6 grand sport.
I will try to see if I can show that more clear in another video. I know driving back from VA to PA when I got it, I was seeing all but 25mpg, mostly highway between 70-85mph. I haven’t checked recently because now I mash on it when I take it out, but I was going to take a trip in the next couple weeks that will be mixed highway and mountain driving that may be a good check
I've got a triple Black '10 3lt GS manual convertible. I'm averaging less than 20 mpg mixed driving, it's never been reset since I've owned it (6 years). I'm the 2nd owner, previous is a recently retired Sheriff Captain who ordered it new. I know him, so I know I got a babied gem. It's only got 13,800 miles on it. They're great cars, and I've had a ton of muscle/sports cars the last 37 years.
Yo! What happen to the Ford Mustang?! 😢 Yes. Don't do anything else to the Vette. It's perfectly fine the way it is. It's yellow too. The look and brand of it is on point. It's okay not add all that supercharge stuff. If I were to own one like this I would keep it as factory as possible. 🚗
Thanks for the kind words of encouragement man. Which Mustang? Lol. They are both gone. The SN95 went to Ohio after the brake caliper falling off incident. The GT500 got sold as a rolling chassis after the crank snout incident. I am hoping no incidents with this thing. Hahaha
Yea this car totally needed a radio! I didn’t add cameras yet , but that is on my list. I can’t quite get my radio tuned as bassy as the factory one sounded
I mean no one would know better than a pilot. Lol. Seriously though it is a great well rounded car. If you can do without the tech and doodads and want a more mechanical feeling, it’s hard to beat this car in the price range.
I have added a few things recently. Nothing crazy though. Funny enough, I have not even changed any modes on it when I rip. I’d like to take it to a circuit this upcoming season and see what I can do with this thing
I cannot look at a C6 with a stock steering wheel. Upgrading that steering wheel makes it a better car. The stock C6 steering wheel is horrendous. Got mine custom from vivid racing. Looks and feels incredible. Like a true sports car
