Welcome back! Today we are covering 3 very common R&B/Neo-Soul Guitar licks. These licks are very much a foundation for what has become know as "instagram guitar". It is really much more than that... you can apply these licks with taste and good placement in any R&B tune on any gig. These licks will give you the sauce to your playing but you cant over use them or they will lose their effect.
All of these examples are in the key of C major and you can use your ear to guide you but overall you should be able to use them over the 1 chord, 4 chord and 6 chord. As always, trust your ear. If something doesn't feel good then don't force it. You can transpose these licks to any key and they will work the same, just pay attention throughout the movements to where your 1 chord is all over the fretboard.
