I like the sleeves on the last dress just as they are. The small amount of gather at the top gives your shoulders a crisper, wider look. Combined with the sleeves as they are the dress gives you more waist definition. I think it looks lovely! Very sorry your mother's life has to be disrupted by this journey she is about to embark on, but the doctors are very good at what they do these days and even the therapies are not so difficult to handle as they once were. Blessings and prayers for you all.
🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻for your Mom and your family. As was said before, your mom has gained a lot of prayer warriors through you and your channel. Loved your makes. I think the orange might be nice with shorter sleeves. Can’t wait to finish the webinar. Thanks for all you do!
I am so sorry for your Mom. This is a shock - I know since I’m an ovarian cancer survivor for 6 years now. Prayers for her & family as you roles change. Ask her to pray for a scripture and that got me through many days. Love on you momma - which some days may be being present & praying 🙏 When she gets a treatment plan you can research online from people that have had similar treatment and prep a bag & supplies at home ❤️
Thank you so much! We should have our treatment plan on Wednesday after they look around via a laparoscopy. I think we'll all feel better once there is a plan in place!
sending your family my thoughts and best wishes for your mother's journey through treatment. My wife was recently diagnosed with a rare cancer and we have been walking through months of treatment. You have been a breath of fresh air in the midst of my days. I wish you can find something that brings lightness to your days. Best to all of you!
I would leave the sleeves of the dress as they are. It is well balanced and flattering for you! Prayers for you mom and your family. The Lord will give you strength.
May God continue to minister to your mom and all of you during this journey. We will certainly add you to our prayer list. Thank you for trusting us with this information. Love the dresses, especially the prints! I think a shorter sleeve may be what you are looking for; however, I think it looks just fine the way it as the material distracts the eye to the colors instead of the details. Blessings,J.
I like the longer lengthen in dresses for Fall/Winter. Each one of these 3 dresses are real inspiration. ~ L ~~~ Prayers for Whitney's mother that Lord Almighty will energize the healthy body and remove any hope for cancer to exist. God love her. Amen
All the dresses are beautiful! I’m so sorry to hear about your mom. Prayers and hugs to you and your family! Just think how many wonderful prayers she will be getting from all your sewing friends! ❤️
Whitney, So so sorry to hear about your Mom. I will be Praying for Her and Your Family! Jesus be with this Family during this Time!!! Beautiful Dresses!! Thank You!!!
Hi Whitney, all three dresses are gorgeous and suit you so well. The sleeves on your red dress are just perfect and the balance looks just right - I think it is because of the a-line skirt. You totally rock maxi length dresses and I love the blue batik fabric. God bless you and your family during this trying time. I pray for your Mum and pray for her medical team - that they have the wisdom to best care for her and guide her through this journey. ❤️
So sorry to hear about your and your mom's trial. I do pray that your mom and your family stand tall and courageously do what you can to support each other thru the days ahead. I'm sure you know we as your supporters are praying for a good result. Remember we are only given what we can endure. Whitney, while you are traveling back and forth, don't forget to take care of yourself as you can only help the best with you in optimal health. May God bless your family! I can't believe I didn't comment on the Autumn dresses. I love them all and the prints are o utstanding and Whitney, who but you can wear an abstract ORANGE print so successfully. I would leave the sleeve where they are. Shorter reminds me of Fonzie in his white tees!
Whitney, I am praying for your mom as well as the rest of the family. It's very tough. I had cancer just 2 years after I lost my husband. My children also circled the wagons to help. 6 years later I am doing well. God is in charge and what He does in my life is always good. Hugs.
The poufing at the top of #3's sleeves and loose enough fit at the hem make these sleeves slimming for your arms, and interesting enough to not be a problem. Good as is, I think.
So sorry to hear about your Mum. So hard when you live so far away but it sounds as though you are part of a very caring family to support each other. Love you dresses. Take care. X
Aw I'm so sorry to hear about your mum's diagnosis. I've been through that with both my parents so I know what you are going through. Great that you can remain focused on filming and your sewing/channel. It's so important for you to keep things 'normal', whilst also supporting your mum. I will be keeping you and your family in my thoughts and prayers.
So sorry for your mom. I’ve been cancer free for 12 years now. This ordeal will pass, I’m glad you’re there for her, support is an important part of healing. Prayers!
I am so sorry to hear this news in regard to your mom. My thoughts and many prayers are being sent your moms way. Bless your heart and God's Blessing to your family during this challenging time.
I love the Olympia dress! It is so flattering that I have made three for me and three for my sister. The latest one I shortened to ballerina length and widened the skirt as much as possible with the fabric width. It is made from ponte so sits very nicely. It is sad to hear that your mum is unwell but it is good that she has managed to find a doctor she likes. Although it may not be under the best circumstances, it will be lovely for both of you to be able to spend more time together. Definitely get her machine the love it deserves.
Whitney, sending prayers and good wishes for successful treatment to your mom and family on your cancer journey. Kansas City is so fortunate have a NCI designated comprehensive cancer center. It’s so much easier on patients when they don’t have to travel to get the very best care.
Whitney I’ve been praying for you and your family but now that I know I will be sure to include your Mom in my prayers. I think the sleeves look good as they are. All the dresses are wonderful! Take care of yourself too❤️
Sending you, your family and especially your Mum the warmest and most supportive thoughts and wishes for a positive outcome and hoping you all stay well during the journey
I'm sorry to hear about your mom. It's so hard. I hate cancer. I bought the Olympia dress this morning before I watched your video and I felt validated when I watched your video. I'm sending a hug and lots of prayers.
Prayers for your Mum and families .I had a rare form of cancer thankfully mine went well . Think positive and pray it is out of your hands and do as your told that is the way I got through it. On a happier note I love the dresses especially the colourful one and maybe shorter sleeve on the last one but it looked lovely on you.
Hi Whitney, sorry to hear about your mum, we are going through the same crisis here, my mum has terminal cancer and is in and out of hospital, so I know how difficult it is to care for a loved one and keep going. I find listening to you tube to people like yourself brightens my day and inspires me to sew something bright and cheerful. Thinking of you at this difficult time and thanks for your uplifting videos
Keeping your mom and your family in our prayers. Take care of yourself during this time, as well. All three dresses are lovely, I guess my favorite is the last one, and the sleeves are good on that one!
Sorry to hear about your mom & wishing her a complete & speedy recovery. I know the next few weeks will be tough for everyone. Love your dresses. I’ve been a Cashmirette pattern fan for some time now.
I like the sleeves, as is. Ordered the dress. You made some great dresses. I know your mom’s diagnosis is heavy on your heart. I’m glad you know that keeping busy is your outlet. 🙏
Luv all three dresses.. they all look wonderful.. and great for transitioning into the fall.. which is why I would keep the sleeve length on the red dress as I think it would give it a more transitional vibe.. a shorter sleeve always seems a bit more summery to me ... FYI the webinar this AM/PM ( I am PST time zone) was so good... I luv how you added a bit about sewing.. I think is a great encouragement for people that are leery of attempting it.. but great for those needed to have better fitting clothes... Will continue to keep you and your family in my prayers.. it is difficult to watch a family go though an illness and please make sure you continue to make time for yourself.. I'm sure sewing will help give you some peace and upliftment during the next few months 😊👃
All your fabrics are beautiful!! I am a spring and can use many of the same colors as you can. As far as your sleeves on the orange dress, I would leave them alone. I love this fabric!!
I am so sorry to hear about your Mother. Good luck for your family. I will be praying for her. I lost my husband in March of this year to colon cancet😪🧵
Sorry to hear about your mum. I’m sending her my best wishes. Love your dresses - the batik fabric is just gorgeous. I think the shorter sleeves on the orange dress would look good. I am the same shape as you and I avoid sleeves that finish right at the bustline too. Love this video.
Prayers for your Mom and your entire family. Your hair looks great. A good fix. Love the dresses. I have both patterns. Time to get ready for fall. Supercharge your Style was great. The 4 hours went by quickly lol
So sorry to hear about your mom. My dad was diagnosed with kidney cancer just 3 months ago so I can imagine what youre going through. Praying for your family at a time like this and I know treatment is going to go well.
I am so sorry to hear about your mom but so glad she has a doctor she really likes. That’s so important. As always, I loved your video. I need to get back to my garment sewing. Hopefully soon.
For the orange dress, the sleeves are fine because the skirt is flowy and balance the rest. Or do a cuff if you have more fabric to lengten them. All dresses are gorgeous.
So sorry to hear about your mom. Will definitely be praying for your family. Even though its not for a fun reason to go travel to see her, I bet your time together will be precious. Your dresses are all lovely as usual. I think the sleeves are great!
Whitney, that is a terrible shock for your mum and all of your family. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. I remember your mum from the channel - she's lovely. It's great to hear that your mum has such a good oncologist - that must be very reassuring. It's terribly hard for you at the moment (I've been there too) but you will feel better when your mum has a plan for her treatment and more information about her situation. Take care of yourself and each other xxx
Oh Whitney, so sorry to hear about your mom's diagnosis. Will be sure to keep her close in my thoughts ... sending love and prayers that all goes well. In the meantime, be sure to take care of yourself. Times like these can be overly stressful and as women we take on too much.💕 The Kineton dress, it came out great! As for the sleeves either is fine but I kinda like the shorter length a little more.
So sorry to hear that your family is having to go through this. My mom has had kidney cancer for three years. Sounds like she's got an amazing support system and the good Lord behind her!
My prayers are with your Mom, you and all of your family, as well as all the doctors, nurses, and medical staff who are going to be fighting right along with her. Yes, the Lord has a plan and we have to trust and find strength in that fact. Be strong and know that your viewers/subscribers will be here as you make your way through this journey. Ok…how did the Olympia dress from LN get passed me? Well, no more! Whitney, how is it that at 5’2” the two maxi versions in this collection add height to your figure??? Excellent choices for both fabrics! You look fantastic in them! The second Kineton caught me by surprise only because of the print of the Lady McElroy cotton lawn…it isn’t something we see you in very often if ever! The color - yes; the pattern - most definitely! I would not change the sleeve - I believe shortening the sleeve causes too much going on in that line of sight! I think you look great in a sleeve that just taps your elbow in addition to sleeveless and 3/4 sleeve. Thank you for bringing us this collection of transitional dresses for Autumn!
Whitney, all the best to your mom. The treatments nowadays are so much better and easier on the patient. There will be really difficult times ahead, but overall I hope you can all stay optimistic. My mother in law just went through 2 different cancers, shortly before the pandemic. Then she got corona badly. But she just bounced back, even though she is now already 81. I wish you and your mom and your whole family all the best.
Sending love and light to your om All the dresses are great. Leave the sleeves at that length because it makes a nice v into your waist and defines it nicely!
Whitney, I'm so sorry to hear about your Mother's diagnosis. Cancer stinks! Sending positive vibes and prayers to your Mom, you and your family. I love your dresses. I'm going to make a dress right away for an upcoming wedding. Hmmm, I have a hard time choosing a pattern but I know I want to do a woven dress.
I absolutely love your Olympia. I have had the pattern for a while. just not sewn it up yet. I have fabric, so must get on with it for fall. I also love the second and third dresses and I don't think you need to shorten the sleeves at all. I dislike puffy sleeves on me, I'm busty, too, with slimmer hips, so even more top heavy, but thinking about it now, maybe it's the length rather than the gathers I don't like. I will have a play around with them. I wish your mom all the best. I am sending positive vibes and prayers for your whole family.
I am so sorry to hear about your Mom; I will keep all of you in my thoughts and prayers! Take care of yourself, too; this journey will test your resilience. I love love love dress #3, keeping the sleeves as is - I think they look fresh and modern, and don't alter your proportions one little bit. I am looking forward to September videos, especially pattern hacking and frankenpatterning tips! Take care!
