A Disneyland video! Local here and yes... fireworks are temperamental depending on weather since homes are closer to the park. Truth on locals coming in the afternoon coming from work for a ride or dinner.
Perfect timing for this video, AJ! I am currently on I-5 heading down to Anaheim (Don't worry...I stopped here at Wheeler Ridge/Outlets at Tejon for lunch and RU-vid viewing) and I have EXACTLY a 3-day reservation beginning tomorrow morning! 🎆🎆🎆🎆🎆
I live on the east coast, so Disney World is normally my go to park, but I am going to Disneyland for my first time in a week and a half. This video was perfect timing!!
Being a S. CA native born, you'll adore Anaheim/DSNYLND Original Park (1955) more than WDW/FL. Started going when I was in a stroller, a kidlet in 1960. Make sure you make Reservations at the Blue Bayou is a must. Went there w/my husband (our 3rd date, 1976). You'll sit among the crickets chirping and watch the Pirates of the Carribean boats go by before they see the skeleton warning the riders.
Disneyland may not be big, but I think it feels more nostalgic. It just has this classic feel that’s unique to it. That’s the main draw, or I like to think at least.
We just got done at Disneyland, and were disappointed in every aspect of this place. While they cram a lot of stuff in a small space it makes it incoherent at times. The staff are rude to apathetic and it is overly crowded. Most staff at rides didn’t acknowledge you or better yet they talked/complained about their jobs and life. One conversation was one cast member explaining to the other you just got a do you with her back to the customers she was supposed to be serving Food was good but not great like DFB would have you believe. At lamplight lounge our waitress took our appetizer order. But didn’t ask if we wanted a main course until we were almost done with the first round. The food was cold over salted and cost $112 bucks for three drinks and three appetizers. While it is the OG it does not create magic in anyway shape or form. It was so bad we actually skipped the last day and hung out at our Disneyland hotel. We love Disney world but the locals in CA can have Disneyland. I think honest blogs would be helpful before people waste time and money on this six Flags theme park.
MR. TOAD’S WILD RIDE STILL EXISTS!?? Only ever been to DW so I thought I was just a fond memory from my childhood! Makes me want to plan a trip out west.
I've always done 3 day trips with park hoppers whenever I go to Disneyland and I think it is the perfect amount of time! Normally spend the first day all in Disneyland, the second day starting in California Adventure and then moving into Disneyland at night, and then the third day starting at Disneyland and then moving between both parks throughout the day.
Going there next weekend. Since I’m in CA I would recommend people that never been to do 3 days. California adventure really only needs one day. Disneyland needs two if you wanna do everything there is to do. You can do one day but you will miss out on something.
Hello AJ!! 3 days in Disneyland is MORE then enough time. I would pick Disneyland over DisneyWorld any day of the year.. At DW you pay a lot of money to walk 15+ miles a day.. (you spend more time walking all over the place.. and being on transport..then DL) DL is compact.. not 2 miles between attractions! The rides are longer..Pirates is one that comes to mind. Space Mountain so much better at DL .. DW "space mountain" is more like the matterhorn.. that they don't have. I feel when they did DW they cut the rides length. Its weird.. but makes sense with the amount of crowds. Both places are magical... DL is more up close and personal.
You didn't talk about another location to see the fireworks when they go off over at Batuu. You won't get to hear or see the projections but for any Star Wars lover, seeing the fireworks over the Falcon, is one of the most magical things you will ever experience.
Had a 3 day trip to DL beginning of April. Was absolutely amazing. But we were also there last year, so didn’t feel a need to pay or stand in line for things like Rise. Only issue I had was our breakfast at Plaza got canceled right after we got sat because they ran out of hot water somehow. But the comped us well and refunded the breakfast, so was an annoyance at best.
Tigger tails at Pooh corner are a must have treat at Disneyland. It’s a homemade marshmallow dipped in caramel and orange flavored chocolate . Delicious 😋
I JUST got back from an 7 night trip in Disney World, so now will start binging all of the Disneyland videos to prepare for another trip! Keep the Disneyland videos coming please!
I was literally there on February 28 and March 1… 2 days helped me do everything I needed. Only ride that I didn’t get was the Indiana Jones ride because it was down for refurbishments
Utilize single rider lines if you can! I love using it for Radiator springs racers, I’ve ridden it like 4 times in like 30-40 minutes just going through the single rider line over and over
Have been going to DSNYLND since being in a carriage (1960). My Dad's company would arrange for it's employees and families alone to DSNYLND at 6pm to 12am. Was fabulous until I turned 18. Make sure you watch for the "It's A Small World" clock changing during the day. Am not sure if it still has the kids coming out, like a coocoo clock. CA Adventure is wonderful. Especially now that they are renovating so much of the whole park. I did love some of the California Icons which they used in the beginning when it opened to the public. Grand Californian is one of the most spectacular examples of California architecture, the Arts and Crafts style. Storytellers is one of my favorite restaurants along with Blue Bayou where Pirates of the Carribean is. Enjoy our Vitamin D Golden Sunshine. FYI: CA had 2 earthquakes today. First one was 5.5 magnitude and the second was 5.2, Northern CA. Have not had a good one here in So. California.
I’m currently at Disneyland this week. Thanks AJ on sovereign sippers and popcorn bucket. The Grogou sipper was nearly sold out. I include Knott’s Berry Farm. Plus two Star Wars nights I left early. I watched World of Color - One in DCA.
Last night we discovered that they do water projections and projections on Tom Sawyer’s Island during the fireworks. Unsure if that’s just happening during the time Fantasmic is down or if they’ve always done that, but it was really cool!
Three days at DL-Anaheim is my max. After settling in to the DVC one-bedroom villa, the first night is spent in Downtown Disney. Dinner then some retail therapy. A full day in the mothership of Disney parks, the Magic Kingdom. Lunch at the Blue Bayou. Haircut at the barbershop, Pirates of the Caribbean and Haunted House. Everything else is just icing on the cake. Day two at California Adventure. Day three, back at the MK at a leisurely pace. There is no greater luxury than spending time in the Magic Kingdom totally spontaneously. Day four I am in a Lyft headed to a fried chicken lunch at Knott’s Berry Farm and stocking up on all things Boysenberry. Tomorrow I will head home via John Wayne Airport. 👍
Best beignet's are at Ralph Brennan's Jazz Kitchen in DD. Also a lot of fun to wind down there in the evenings with live jazz music. When you've had a beignet there, the ones at Mint Julip are just good but no longer great.
When I got on that terrifying Ferris wheel as an 8-year-old, the ride attendant told my family and me to just yell “Stop the ride!” if we got too scared. I took that literally. Started screaming “STOP THE RIDE!” not too long into enduring that death wheel.
Forgot to mention tortilla joes in downtown Disney and trader sams at Disneyland hotel. Tortilla joes has tableside guacamole where they make the guacamole to your liking (I think there might be vids of it if you do a search
Grizzly River Run - you will be DRIPPING WET all day long. Down with everything else you've said, but no Grizzly River Run in the AM. High noon on a hot day is the only time to do this ride. Unless you're there on a rainy day - assuming you'll have a raincoat on.
You suggest if having Early Entry, head to Runaway Railway first. But that ride is NOT available for Early Entry. Or has something changed that isn't showing on the Disneyland website yet? I'm hoping it IS available when we go in November.
Thanks for the video. When we first visited Disneyland in 2022, we only subscribe to 2 RU-vidrs and now we also subscribe to your channel. We will fly 8,600 miles to Anaheim in June 2024. Could Genie plan our trips and rides to the less walk as possible? Last time we walk 30,000 steps daily.😅. Thanks. 🎉
keep talking about DCA rides at dark, but they close so much earlier than disneyland. Called to be closed at 6pm in october, before it gets dark..really. Am i missing a fact that allows for nighttime DCA rides?
This seems like how to do 2 days at the Disneyland resort and a third day doing whatever. I was hoping to see more of how to optimize three full days in the parks 😢
Is there an actual downloadable itinerary? Why does it change to Disney World? I spent money on the package only to find it was a different park. Really bummed about it. Feel dooped.
We have a free downloadable planning guide for Disneyland here: www.disneyfoodblog.com/disneylandplans Currently our larger for-purchase e-books are just for Disney World. You can reach out to support@dfbguide.com if you have any other questions
Anyone have something to say about Red Rose Tavern? I’m going to DL/DCA in August and plan to eat there mostly from the Beauty and The Beast theme alone lol We aren’t interested in reservations really, we plan to just get mobile order or go places where we can just go in and order
I don’t understand how disney gets away w expensive park entry, genie plus & lightning lanes. Why would u pay $200 to get in, $20pp for gp & then an additional $20 pp for a big ride. Imagine being a dad paying for a family of 5.
