What’s your recording setup like? Do you mic up amps or DI through an amp sim? Would love to see a video on this

I just go direct ever since I got an Axe FX. I find it easier, plus being completely ITB helps keep the neighbors happy, haha. I might do some type of recording setup at some point in the future 👍

If you're doing like paid work, and/or recording pretty much every day, then 100%. If you're more of a just a hobbyist, it's perhaps a little overkill. There's plugins out there that will do as good of a job, like Neural DSP's stuff. I just like the Axe FX for the convenience. I don't have to worry about CPU issues or anything, like you might do if you were to have 10s of guitar plugins running all at once. Plus the in-built FX are really awesome too. Great for re-amping other bands tracks, when needed. You can actually pick them up fairly cheap now too, at least the I & II models. I think I got mine for about £1000 maybe 4-5 years ago, but I've seen them go for around £700 today.

Thanks! I normally use either Superior Drummer 2, or Modern & Massive. But I bounce them out from the plugin, then mix them myself - instead of using the presets.

I've never really used Garage Band personally. Do you know if it supports third-party VST2/VST3?

@@SugarpillProd Depending on how recent the version is, absolutely. The more recent versions of Garage Band (Circa ~2017+) are practically Logic Lite. Pretty much the same UI and EQ settings, and they support VST2/3s. It was my go to for years with BiasFX and EZDrummer2 before I moved over to ProTools ^_^ You can do plenty of great work in it nowadays. It's far from a meme DAW in its current form. Actually quite respectable.
