Arris 8200 is a modem. Not a router. You need to buy a router to connect to the modem.

Sorry it took me a while to answer you. been away..but Troy 028 is correct on his response. SB8200 is simply a modem. Routers are what extends wifi signal throughout your home. thanks

@@taadowservicesUtube Yes they have to activate your CM600 on their end. the will charge you more money to drop one of your services (Phone) but not to use your own equipment. I myself have home phone and internet with spectrum because its cheaper than internet alone. i dont even have a house phone. but its cheaper as a bundle. i recommend you keep the bundle and use your own equipment. thanks

Hi Miguel. before you purchase an extender, buy the router. you may not need the extender. to better recommend tell me how many square feet is your home, 1 or 2 stories, around how many devices will be running simultaneously?

@@DFMTV4U it’s a 1 story 1500sqft. I have around 30-40 devices. I’m thinking of getting the router asus rt-ax88u.

Great question! i personally have the SB8200 and i can't say anything negative about it. but everyone's scenario is different. i will give your the short answer. Go with the SB8200 for both price and in your case with speeds of 10 up 200 down its already overkill. i personally considered upgrading a few months back to the S33, so i already did tons of research and comparison between the two. needless to say. i Never upgraded and don't see the need to because with my current speeds of 22 up 400 down the SB8200 is also overkill for me. Although the S33 has a few features that surpass the SB8200, you really need the high internet speeds to take advantage of them. So unless you surpass speeds of 1Gbps, your really never going to use the features that you would be paying more money to have the S33. and because you mention FPS Games, every millisecond counts to get that kill over your opponent, trust me i know lol. the SB8200 is better equipped when it comes to handling high-bandwidth requirements like gaming and 4K streaming. so the SB8200 its the way to go. i said the short answer and realize i gave you all of this lmao. just don't ask me for the long answer unless you like novels. good luck

Well if you game then I would upgrade because the 6190 has that Intel puma chipset that adds latency to your games. 8200 is faster in my opinion

@@troy028 I don’t game on my PC’s. Stream with it yes. Since my last post internet speeds I was getting from Xfinity has dropped sometimes to under 100Mbps and sometimes in the 50’s,60’s and 70’s Mbps range. I don’t know what is going on. I know I am suppose to be getting 400 Mbps Service though.

That's great news, but i am surprise that your not getting charged. i also have spectrum 400 and my charged ended when i purchased my own equipment. keep an eye on that new modem, there equipment is not as reliable as you might think. thanks for your feedback

Even if you're not paying a modem rental fee their equipment is still not as good the Aris.

No you can do it yourself.

all depends on your setup in your home. give me some info so i can better assist: How many square feet is your home or apartment? is it 2 story or is it ranch style. (if 2 story, is your modem upstairs or downstairs?) are you interested in a router with the new WiFi 6 Tech or the older Wifi 5 tech. this is the biggest factor on price. what is your current internet speed you are paying for? and how many devices do you think you'll be running simultaneously. answer these questions and ill be able to to do a better recommendation. I can tell you that i have an Amplifi Alien that takes care of just about any scenario but its more on the pricey end. i personally love it but if you answer the questions above ill recommend something good but a little cheaper. link to mine below. @@frederickslaughter2014 well didn't answer all the questions. i was trying to recommend something that would take care of most if not all your needs depending on your scenario with a reasonable price but i need info to better recommend. you didn't even tell me if you want the new wifi 6 tech. if you don't feel comfortable answering my questions its ok, just go with the one that i have (Link is on the previous response), it may be overkill and a little pricey, but for sure it will take care of any wifi and connectivity issues and its wifi 6 tech. good luck

Can you elaborate more? I just purchased a Arris SB6190. It is actually a refurbished one and so far it works great.

​@ffas23 it adds latency. If you game online then it will cause lag. If u just do web browsing then you won't be bothered
