I've been watching for about a month now, I like your channel it's like easy watching and getting to see random load outs. There like little pockets (no pun intended)of reality that usually only a small few get to view. Carry on indeed
The knife of Michael Delos Reye's EDC is actually a Kershaw Cryo, not a Cryo II. Just Cryo. You can notice it by reading the number printed on the blade. 1555 stands for kershaw cryo (first model), while 1556 stands for the Cryo II model (the bigger and updated brother). "Ti" stands for the titanium finishing.
I cant do minimal, I try, I fail, my "minimal wallet" has 15 cards... POF.. my bike bag started with a bag that came with the bike, it straddles the top bar, its to small, I went with a midsize pouch then I bought a small toolbox, it was full before I got it home . Now I have a cross chest bag and its almost full, a spare tube and tube kit, several tools, a contractor bag for shelter (It rains unexpectedly in florida) cordage and toggles to make shelter, spare lights because I ride mainly at night etc etc.. totally agree that those were fantastic shots the last one was the best pic imo
This is by far the best EDC pocket dump I've ever seen. I don't understand why guys they're all guys) think they need to carry 4+ pounds of stuff every day, including a key ring the size of a baseball. My minimalist EDC kit includes a wallet with a pocket magnifier and a couple Band-Aids, a waterproof watch, a Victorinox Tinker, a Victorinox Ranger Grip 61, a bandanna, and the key fob for my car with a house key. It all weighs less than 1.5 pounds. If I'm camping or day hiking, I'll add or substitute a few things, but I still won't go over about 2 pounds
Like your content. Good camera work and sound, especially like the links to all the items featured. Random comments: I tried a hard metal card wallet, but the slippery metal kept squirting out of my back pocket when sitting. I do find the small Victorinox and the Solitaire on a key ring with a small Spiderco makes a really useful combo. Seems like I'm pulling it out many times every day. Lastly, I find tri-fold wallets, especially leather ones, are already fat when empty, and with all the credit and insurance and etc. cards I carry, it's just too fat. I use a small zippered pouch for main cards, bills and driver's license in one back pocket, and a thin card wallet for all the rest. Much better.
these kinda video's always feel a bit cheap because you're using others submissions. but you go in dept on every item, are honest about how you make money and direct us to the sources. i can support that. subscribed.
Dude! The hair, the beard, the shirt... you remind me so much of Dustin Kensrue of Thrice, it’s not even funny. Killer channel and I plan on sending my EDC over to you soon. Keep up the great work, brotha. 🤙🏻
The basics of life is what you want, Mate! 1. A robust timepiece/watch 2. A wallet (with id and enough money to get home) 3. House keys, bike lock key 4. A writing utensil and field notes/moleskin notepad 5. A flashlight 6. A Swiss army knife (when not in school) 7. A hanky That gives you a good start, and it's never too early to start EDCing...
Phone and keys = Minimalist Phone, keys, wallet, watch = Normal Phone, keys, wallet, card carrier, knife, pen, diary, a compass and a torch = definitely not minimalist
I call bull on some of these pictures of knives with no wear and keychains with pristine finishes on them. My Kershaw is worn all around the edges from use and just carrying. Anything rubbing against a few keys is gonna take a beating in a very short period. My leather wallets start breaking in and showing wear in just a couple weeks. Seems to be a lot of fake people submitting pictures.
Just learn the inverse Square law and how to use a 8 by 10 so you can adjust the rear plain for Distortion and the front plane for focus and you can get rid of all your glare if you start using a polarizer. The GI bill paid for $150,000 education and photography
Because a flashlight will cast a beam of light - the flashlight on your phone is designed to be a flood flash, great for taking photos; not good for casting a beam of light. Also, battery life...I’ve used the moonlight setting on my Olight S1A Baton everyday for the last year, and the original battery still has juice in it. The flashlight on a cell phone drains the battery very quickly.
X-Bow okay I just googled olight s1a baton, it's not what I meant when I said SMALL flashlight, I was speaking bout the SMALL not powerful (usually keychain) really cheap and poor quality flashlights, you know the kind of flashlight you use to find the key hole or to find something that falled under the desk. The type of flashlight with the same power of your smartphone flash. But I guess that 's also because I try to keep my edc as minimalist as possible, therefore one led on the cell equals no flashlight in my pockets because I don't need a powerful one.
I had a tiny keychain flashlight for awhile when I worked nights, because it would help me see to unlock my doors at night and it was right there on my keys when I needed it. Most small flashlights have pocket clips that can be clipped to a hat or a t-shirt so you can go hands free. I find using a cellphone flashlight a little cumbersome. The little s1a baton is cool because it runs on a single AA which is readily available, and it has a magnetic end cap so I can go hands free as long as I have metal to mount it. On camping trips, I’ve stabbed my knife into a tree and used the blade as a magnetic base to hold the flashlight so I don’t have to hold it, and Ive stuck it to my car hood when I needed light to work on impromptu repairs. I really think a small flashlight that can be easily carried and can cast a beam of light is one of the most useful items I could ever carry on a daily basis. Cellphone, keys, wallet, pocket knife, flashlight...always with me. Have a nice day.
@@yurrev i like a tiny flashlight. I carry several. I carry a military style backpack (because it's useful). There is a keychain flashlight on my keychain, one in my pocket and one on the webbing on my backpack. My eyesight sucks at night. If all else fails, I got the ultimate flashlight (for me), the Emisar D4, in the top pouch of my backpack. When I turn that baby on, I see everything. I know, I got a flashlight on my phone, but it's not that great. It's white, it's low powered.
I understand that people put some stuff on picture, but it's hard to believe they carry compas and light every day with them. First- is he trying to get lost every day or what? - he have his mobile with google maps Flashlight? - he have that shit on his own phone too.. I understans that photo need to be beautiful but don't put stuff u do not carry any day, specially not every :)
would love to submit my EDC but it's a mess of cheap chinese products and respectable brands, combined with old stuff i got on markets. but at least it proves that you can get a usable EDC with a budget.
Everyday Carry "Setup" These words do not fit together at all.. I do carry home key, office key, wallet, cellphone, all which I consider essential as to what other people can consider EDC. I think carrying too much is ridiculous. 2 wallets? Dress watch everyday yet carries a knife 'everyday' as well? Makes good pictures but isn't really efficient.
this is great and all, but having your channel only based on EDCs is hugely restrictive with the content that can be made. I dont see this channel progressing very far as you will eventually run out of content.
This series is so god damn addicting, the videos themselves are so cleanly put together and EDC is genuinely interesting. Good shit my friend, good shit.
Ok, I am really new to the EDC scene. I am doing my research, but I just can't figure out the need for a watch. It tells "time", that's obvious, but apart from that; What else do you need a watch for?
If Michael Delos Reyes is using the old Moment model, there was a mounting plate that sicks to the phone itself and it is them compatible with the Apple brand leather case (I've got a similar setup with my old Moment lens and my iPhone SE).
@7:14 "my mini cooper takes me wherever I need to go" Setting aside the fact that this is true for literally any car... it's ironic that he says that about one of the least reliable brands on the market today. But with a $400 wallet and plugging his IG, I guess it's on-brand.
In 1994 I was a video producer at a wedding when the cable for my on camera light was pulled from the socket. I made it to the reception & used my Leatherman to hold the wires as I used my Zippo lighter to resolder the cable back together.
I dont know how people carry so much stuff. I carry wallet phone knife and watch. and alot of the time i ditch the phone and knife. I dont think im the target audience for EDC videos lol.
Gary, you might want to upgrade your flashlight! IMO 47 lumens won't do you any good, once you're in a emergency situation and desperately need some reasonable output. Some of my favourite small/keychain flashlight are Olight i1R EOS (5+150 lumen/ rechargable), Olight i3E EOS (80 lumen, AAA) and the Olight i3T EOS (5+180 lumen, AAA) Great looking self-made wallets btw! A lot of love for swiss made products, I like it Mike!
Hey Kevin thanks for the suggestions, will definitely keep that in mind! I think the Olight flashlights that you suggested are really nice, will go upgrade the flashlights in the near future! Thanks for the kind comment on the wallets :) Cheers!
