Sprint Racing my 1959 Triumph TR3a at 3 Sister Track near Wigan in the UK. do I spin off ? You will have to watch 😢 Several runs with times included. It’s the 2 lapper and my handicap time is 96seconds.
That steering looks hard work. I believe the TR3 uses the Bishop Cam steering box? I have that system in my AC and it's awful, no feeling, v little self centering and generally heavy with a half inch of play at the rim. My other car is a Healey Sprite which is at the other end of the spectrum for steering.
Mine has a steering box but it’s not bad at all despite wide sticky tyres. It’s very heavy slow manoeuvring but ok once motoring on. I do have bronze bushed pins and have altered the suspension geometry to give some castor and camber which helps a lot.
@@HamishRacing That's pretty funny, actually. I live in the middle of Alaska, where it gets very cold in winter. 27c is considered "warm" in June here, not hot. And, typically when it's about that temperature, the sun is blazing, not at all like the sky I see in your video. "Hot" here is anything about 32 or warmer. It's been a fairly mild, but relatively dry, summer so far, and there's very little left of it. I think the hottest it's been here is something like 38. Coldest was officially near -56, but for some reason, the records have changed, now they say -54.5, IIRC. Anyway, enough about the weather. That looked like fun. Can I have a go?
Thank you James It’s the benefit of black I think, good on video - it’s just a standard carpet kit. I do use an old original pair of rigard seat that I got cheap off a club member, they are supportive and have a removable headrest. And still being made !! www.ridgardseats.co.uk
See? Drifting is FAST! :P I wonder what times you'd have gotten if you drifted those esses in each run, provided you didn't spin out, which seems like a distinct possibility. I noticed that in the beginning of each run, you release the hand brake, it seems like that takes quite a lot of time. Is it in the rules of this event that you must set the brake at the start line? BTW, at least on the inside, that's a very pretty TR3. It sounds good too. Loud, but good. I have a very ugly GT-6 Mk-III that I hope to one day make as pretty. Thanks for sharing the video!
@@HamishRacing it has a LSD? I keep hearing what sounds like wheel slippage or is that the clutch? Ya if I didn't push it till I looped it I didn't know where that line was.
a bias valve is ease to install my race car had one. I always believed in heavy braking before a down shit the brake pad or shoes are cheaper then a trany.
