Awesome vid! Little tip for adding a rig with rigify, if you go into basic then select human (basic) it won’t generate the face bones. Saves a little time :)
Your stuff is amazing man. I've binged so many tutorials and the way you explain in detail and show full processes is perfect. Usually I have to go across 12 tutoprials to find what I was looking for but you have it all in one!
love your videos they have helped me alot. i seem to have run into an issue regarding the IK for the legs. whenever i bring the legs forward the knees will meet at the center, this has happened before with a previous model and was more apparent when the legs would jolt to the center during a walking animation.
Do I need to make a base bone down on the ground between the character's feet? Some tutorials have shown this, and I'm not sure if it's necessary. My plan is to bring this character and its animations from blender into unreal engine for gamedev.
Have you had success with the "generate rig" feature with Rigify where it adds custom bone shapes, IK as well as IK/FK snapping? While it makes things easier to control visually, it also seems to add a lot of unnecessary bones like squash/stretch that doesn't work right with Unreal.
