Agreed. We get so caught up in what's not that we forget God wants us to be content in every season of life and take advantage of every moment, because once married, you can never get that single hood back. Marriage is such an holy and sacred commitment. I remember God speaking these words to me during my single season, " Striving to be 100% in me and your spouse doing the same will set you up for greater success, than 50/50".
I've come to realise that the road to marriage isn't a race. As a young woman it is important to be sure of yourself first. Know your strengths and weaknesses . You will constantly reflect and improve. For me, it was about discovering who I am in Christ and developing a strong foundation in Him in a way you can't necessarily do when it's no longer just you and you're distracted by meeting everyone else's needs.
I’m single and definitely pursuing a closer relationship with God while I’m waiting to be found by my husband. I really want God to be my priority in my single season so that I can give Him His rightful place in my marriage.
I loved the cooking tip! The true test is when the one of ya'll is sick so if marriage is something that's on your heart..might as well work on those skills. In black culture it's kind of frowned down upon to be a woman who "doesn't cook or likes to cook" so it can feel like a "pressure" to know how to cook well, which is intimidating for many. I loved how you posed it as it just makes things easier to know how to do these things. It's def not a make or break but can add to your household when you take steps like this to prepare :)
Omg yes it is so frowned upon in black culture. For a long time before I got married I was afraid to admit that I wasn't the best at cooking. But after a while I was like you know what we need to tackle this thing. AND Jesus and youtube will teach me OKURRRR lol.
I am dating and working to strengthen my relationship with Christ. I definitely need to be working on my homemaking skills. I'd love to watch videos about that if you ever were interested in making videos about your home making process.
I love the point about being a home maker. As a christian woman, I understand that serving others is what we are called to. It's a practice of the world to want to be the one being served all the time. The Proverbs 31 woman served at home and in business. Bring brilliance and humility in every space you enter even simple things like doing the dishes.

Why dont you and your mom pray together about this? Let your mom know how you feel and just pray and give God thanks that He will send you a man who loves God with all of his heart mind and soul, and you both can serve God together in Jesus Name
I loved the part where you said we should become good stewards of God’s gifts to us!! So beautiful and so humble!! God truly had to humble me…being grateful made me start being a much better steward of what I have. And I honestly realized that I have so, so, sooooo much. Stephanie this video was awesome and you look stunning! I liked what you said about being a steward over the home. I currently live with my mom and she always stresses to me the importance of doing chores, cooking and cleaning. At times it is really annoying but there is a principle and bigger picture behind it all. To add on to what you said I also think it is very important to be more present in your season of singleness. Spend lots of time with family and friends and really love on the people around you. I think sometimes we get so caught up in chasing the NEXT that we forget how important the NOW is.
Hi Jane! Girl you are so right. Now that I am married I miss my mom and siblings SO SO SO much! Definitely have to cherish all the moments you have because things really change once marriage happens.
Good prospective. A lot of men and women don't understand that in order to be able to navigate marriage you have to be able to navigate yourself as a single person the right way starting with God. The mindset has to be in place long before you say I do.
I love these points! I am engaged to be married and this reminds me of what I should be spending my time doing up to that point. I often get discouraged by the way women carry themselves in society today. I have been looking for some godly encouragement to be a wife. My favorite point was to be sensitive to the holy spirit and make your home attractive to the holy spirt. :)

Wow! My dear sister, I am proud of you! This is what so many single sisters are lacking - a relationship with God. So, when they get married, and the testing starts - they fail! Because they don't know how to talk with the Holy Spirit.
Thank you for this. I just recently started courting and I can testify to the importance of having a prayer life. It keeps you in alignment with God's heart and His timing for God's plan over one's life. Glory to God
God has to have HIS rightful place in our lives first as individuals because we need to know him on a personal level and so if I don't give God that place in my heart how will I be able to do it after marriage?

Both of us got hurt in our past relationships and I suggested that we went to counseling because we both haven’t recovered from the trauma that he went through. So he said yes. So it’s a start.

Glad I found your channel felt in my spirit and from others to get ready for my marriage and I’m happy to be domestic (learning things already to be homemaker) the most things I needed was to be intimate with God and follow the rules for a wife under her submission with her husband respecting him and putting God first in my future marriage and I can’t wait for that promise to come. Learn all I can now and exactly been doing my homemaker things at home since being inside glad God is showing me what to do using me to learn things now. Let me tell you all something. There is nothing more admirable and powerful than a man telling you how much value you bring into his life. Whether you realise it or not, that's how you can tell how worthy you are, and how all the work you've put into yourself has transformed you, especially spiritually. When my boyfriend told me so in great detail, it proved how eager he wanted me to be by his side. We're discussing marriage now. By God's grace, we will be. It's worth me realising this at 36.
I think for me i need to build a strong relationship with God so that am at a place where i can clearly hear him, i can constantly spend time with him this is an area that am absolutely lagging.thank you for this content

I think chasing your dreams is the hardest one for Us because we our young and we’re still learning how to prioritize our goals we are working through this journey together and wanting to build with each other but sometimes our goals and dreams are hard to reach because other things interfering ….

I never learned time management growing up Lol! It wasn't till the last 2 or 3 years of my life that I started learning and I'm Still struggling with it. But honestly, cleaning house shouldn't take any more than 2 hours a day. Unless you have 5+kids, that might be different. But if it's just you or you and 2 other adults or something it should be pretty simple. Especially if you're doing all the everyday basics like dishes, trash, or clearing clutter. For every task, it shouldn't take more than 20 mins. I clean my entire stove inside and out in 20. My oven in 15-20. My fridge in 15-20. Dishes should never take more than 10-20 per large load. Also, If you do one or two extra chores every day and you have a system, it will be so much easier to keep up. And stay ahead on house cleaning. Also, try to reward yourself and find something fun to get excited about your day so depression doesn't rule over you to where you can barely get out of bed, much less get and stay motivated to clean. That's been a huge Huge struggle for me. I have to pray a lot about that! But don't take keeping a home so seriously to where you get overwhelmed and spend your entire day doing nothing else but cleaning or you don't do anything at all. Just thought I'd add my input on that hehe😅

I really love the way you addressed these points. I would say the one thing I am concerned about is keeping God first in my life while married. I know my husband will be a priority in my life but he is not above God. I am currently in a relationship and although we have talked about marriage i don't think that will happening anytime soon lol. I grew up in a typical African home where the females did all the cooking and cleaning so I would like to think i got that part down but now I am currently working on making my home "homey" and peaceful. I am also trying to pick up some DIY skills so I don't have to spend money on certain things all the time.
I definitely understand that! I believe the more you place God as a priority now the easier it will be when you get married. Even if there are times where you feel like you are placing your husband first the holy spirit will nudge and tell you to come back! But I love that you are working on making your space homey! Woooow.. Am so so grateful for this video!! It has really blessed especially with my relationship with God! Sometimes i struggle with it cause i have been through alot emotionally and mentally but i still strive to love God and be more prayerful. Am dating and am that kind of person who has always wanted to settle down early but that journey wasn't easy but i think God wanted to teach me alot painful lessons before i get there! And now listening to made it so clear what i have to do as a woman of God. Am so glad i know the skills of home making and am working on developing me and my goals!!
