2004 JDM BP5 Legacy GT wagon ej20y ej20x twinscroll turbo 5 speed manual WAGON AWD Check out my other video of 3 thing I LOVE: • 3 Things I LOVE about ...
Awesome vid! So rare to find vids on these cars. I have a BL5. Its a 06 Legacy GTR (yes...GTR, was a South African limited edition model fitted with Prodrive Performance Pack from factory to commemorate Subaru's 10th year in SA) My one is one of 13 ever made and one of only 3 that were 5MT in Arctic Pearl white. Love it/Hate it for the past 4yrs lol. Currently up for sale as its also time for me to move on to something new. Sad part is....they dont sell for much as compared to the Impreza!
You can get the double din to fit that old stereo and put in a sat navigation, etc and where the old sat navigation screen is, replace with the original clock. I have a JDM in UK, Paddleshift version, changed everything for a proper system and added value to the car. Brilliant motor, jn all honesty
FM RADIO FREQUENCY RANGE can easily be changed from the Japanes 76 to 90 to what you need which is 88 to 108 using a frequency adaptor - some call it convertor and its easy since you plug your aerial input onto this small box which easily fits behing your radid and you then plug the out of this box into your coax radio imput. These FM converots are easily available from joom or ebay or amazon and prices is about 15 dollars.
Dude I hate the radio as well, I was also looking at the JDM double din swap but when you add the price of the adaptor plate to the price of a double din its like $700+ easily! I'm sticking with my bluetooth iPhone connector
In my 04 legacy I had a storage compartment between the ac vents above radio(looks like you have a gps or something there), chopped the little door for compartment and got a bracket to hold aftermarket stereo in there. Looks mint, not sure if some legacys come with it like that ,my 06 legacy was like that when I bought it but I just done that to my 04 legacy myself and now I have 2 legacys with good stereos and subs. I hope that made sense only downside is having oem stereo still there but eventually I want to take that apart so it's just ac and put gauges there or another cubby who knows
@@lance5266 Ahhhh, yes that makes sense... Interesting. I may have to to try that as my GPS up top is all in Japanese and doesnt have Canadian maps. Im not going to lie, I have thought of this before but didn't know if it could be done with the stock stereo unit still in there. Some gauges down there would be pretty sweet on yours! Thanks for sharing.
@@JWheelie have a go, I did some digging last night and some legacys came with a single din cubby and a clock where that gps is might be able to dig around and find one where you are, only hard part was making that bracket for my second one but it's doable and I'm a noob
About the seat belts. All you need is some silicone spray - just a little and spread it on the underneath side of the sea belt since on its way back into its place, it has to make and creaze through a 360 degree turn!!!!! which is hard since the texture of the belth is tick. Hope this helped. Same is true for my C Class Merc and it worked.
there are FM EXPANDER for the Radio .. For Bluethooth, USB and AUX Connection .. you can buy the YATOUR BT Adapter ^^ for the Belts u can use Silicon Spray on the Belts ;) - i did everything of this ^^
@@JWheelie I had the same problem in my Legacy H6. Seatbelts get dirty and oily over time and that's why they do not retract. I washed them and it was massive improvement. But you have to wash them really well - I soaked them in almost boiling water with like 5 different soaps and washing powders and brushed them really well - repeated three times. And they look like new and retract without any hesitation.
