There are numerous causes for depression mostly due to the inability to exercise control over one's moods. To harbor thoughts about failure in life, that the world is not conducive, and/or that there is no possibility of future happiness, can adversely affect the brain's physiology. What may work instead is to develop an attitude of gratitude, to have faith in God's plan for us, and to focus on helping others instead of obsessing on self-happiness. Wow, thank you, Swamiji.

....ditto! Swamiji makes us think about the need to have an attitude of gratitude....how we take the boundless gifts from nature for granted...how the Delhi billionaire cried after contracting Covid and spending a week on the ventilator and being asked to pay 7 lakh rupees cried out tears of gratitude to God exclaiming that God had not charged him even one paisa in the past 65 years for all the air that he had been breathing... As this wise, rich person from Delhi pointed out, we all need to significantly grow in our attitude of gratitude...the materialism that abounds around us makes us place our faith in the material and not on the divine...😊

All the stories are very very inspiring...if I need to pick one ...I would say, "little girl on flight" See with how much faith, the little girl said, "My Father is the pilot and he is taking me Home" . Swamiji beautifully explains the common causes of depression and how to get out of it. This is a must watch for everyone as everyone at sone point in their life reaches this mindset - I was there once and had struggles to get out of it and wish I had this type of info as that would have helped but I am very Thankful for the struggles because it has made me who I am today to grow with Faith and spiritually. Swamiji says the 3 steps we needs to overcome depression is 1. Cultivate the Attitude of Gratitude 2. Have Faith that God is my protector and well wisher 3. Such valuable message, incomparable to anything. In this world of suoer fast, we all are under stress. But those who are not able to control it facing depression. Swamiji went into the roots and gifted us 3 points to change our negative thoughts into optimistic, helpful and result oriented. 3 years before, I used to be person always complaining that people around me never understand me, never support me, they are not reaching my expectations. After watching Swamiji's video 3 years before, I came to know that, I'm selfish and always think of my pleasure. When I turned my focus in helping others, I felt and happiness and attain peace within. Swamiji suggested 3 points will extremely help us in the path of devotion

The realization of Ratan Tata that the orientation of I, me and myself, which is the main cause of our depression, if it can be replaced by the service attitude, that becomes the very powerful antidote to depression. Besides, we can adopt other spiritual tools like developing the attitude of gratitude for the innumerable blessings received by us from God and developing firm faith on the benevolence and all-powerful protection of God to minimise the toxic effect of pessimistic and negative thoughts that give rise to depression.
