I think I´m going to try out the Heal-Damage-Beam swap now with the option to set different keys for certain abilites. Like with other supports (Baptiste, Kiriko, Lifeweaver) I use the primary fire to damage and the secondary to heal. Maybe trying that out for Moira could work, too?
Additional tip for Res that has been stated before in these types of videos: Crouch can get you access to Res a soul that's below you, allowing you to maintain a highground position. I've been utilizing this surprisingly a LOT lately. I think Skiesti does this exact thing at 13:20
Thanks to Skiesti's Mercy tips, I've climbed from being hardstuck Diamond to hitting Masters in consecutive seasons. Mercy mains really stay winning when we have great educational and engaging content creators like this :)
Great tips, as always. Flipping Damage Boost and Healing beams to primary and alternate fire, and setting the Caduceus Blaster to fire on both buttons really made my life as a Mercy main easier. But I had already implemented these lessons from you and another Mercy main a while ago. :)
I've been encouraging people to do DMG boost on primary and heal on alternate for YEARS but it's always my go to DMG boost tip and if there are new Mercy players that stumble upon this, it's definitely one I want them to see
Proud mercy main reporting! These tips have helped me win a lot and be a successful mercy main. it's hard to keep your sanity good in Overwatch without winning lol. I feel like the only thing keeping most mercy players down is how they think she is a main support and don't realise the flexibility, power, and value you get off of DB, so I often see bad mercy's with over 11000 - 12000 heals with a Moira/Ana/any main support on their team. Great tips again though!
Okay confession time... So I got into a heated argument with my dps. He was mad because apparently mercy is supposed to hold the tanks hand all game. I was quick to bring up Niandra, Zaou, and of course Skiesti. I was like "If you genuinely believe mercy is useless have one of these 3 legends on your team. They'll carry your ass outta bronze."
Thank you, Ski! Your videos and tips are the reason why I decided to main Mercy when I first started playing Overwatch and you've helped me improve so so much the past year. I started out in Gold and now I just hit Diamond 5 for the first time ever today! All thanks to you and other mercy content creators, thank you for helping me and so many others learn and have fun with our beloved Mercy 💛
It's so hard learning mercy, and people get so mad when im damage boosting more, then im healing. It's like most players think mercy is a heal bot. it's rough
0:38 Wait, so when Mercy's passive is active, she's healing her teammates for less than 55hps? I thought it was 13.75hps for herself, in addition to the 55hps for her ally. Am I misunderstanding this?
I'v played Mercy since Beta and in t500 and I never knew that healing output stayed the same if u stay on healing after valk! thank you! Your awesome as always Skiesti
Ooo love that Valk has GA cd at 1.5 regardless of slingshot or super jump additions. That’s awesome! Great way to get extra movement for those intense team fights
@@YuriLix no, in Valkyrie that is not the case, the original commenter is correct. Valkyrie GA's have no extended CD. Also, not a single GA is a 3 sec CD, idk why Skiesti says that when it's objectively untrue. The CD of GAs with tech will always be 3 seconds MINUS however long you slingshot/superjump for. If you do a full 1 second long slingshot, the CD is only 2.0 seconds (.5 extended activation duration + 1.5 CD). If you do a tiny little micro movement, the CD could be anywhere from 2.0-2.9 seconds depending on how long you are slingshotting for, etc.
I’ve started to pick up Mercy more thanks to meeting a very reliable dps duo. (a genji and hanzo duo funny enough). I used to main dps but I’ve found myself sticking it to support in the meantime for them. I really hadn't known much about her, given I was a DPS main, so these videos really have been helping me figure out how to best support them with her! I use other supports too but sometimes mercy is what gets the job done. Great tips, useful video!
Well dam. I don't know how I didn't know about SJ... lol. I did the mastery courses and was wondering why those straight up jumps were so hard to hit with the Spacebar >.> Awesome video!
I think everyone should have to play Mercy for a couple of hours before they play anyother role 😂. I think she’s really fun, but I don’t think near enough people understand how hard it is to play her sometimes.
Thanks for this tips video, I’ve been wanting to have Mercy as my second main and I need all the tips & tricks I can get to use her effectively. I’m also so hyped for the return of her pink skin and the new rose gold skin!
I’ve learned so much from your videos! It’s also a big help that you demonstrate what you’re talking about for a visual aid. Ik I have a lot more improvements to make still but my play style is night and day compared to how it used to be because of your tips
Great video there is also a superjump bug tech that lets you get the 1.5sec cooldown instead of 3 sec when pressing guardian angel and then crouch guardian angel at the same time this only works if you have toggle GA ON can you make a video about this ? They might remove it
it’s possible with toggle GA off as well - you just have to let go of GA/cancel it at the same time as your slingshot. it works the exact same as the toggle on timing 👍
Hello, could you tell me how to reduce mersy's hitbox that you show at minute 1:52? It's that I don't speak English and it's not completely clear to me, apart from the fact that the subtitles in my language don't work very well in the video, I would really appreciate it if you write it to me here, I hope it doesn't bother you
So if you spam the key for Angelic Descent (Normally it's jump and crouch), your wings don't open compared to when you hold Angelic Descent your wings do open. Having your wings closed reduces the hitbox because the wings aren't showing
Would HIGHLY recommend it. It's really helped all the Mercy players I've suggested it to start DMG boosting more! It'll take time to get used to so try not to get too frustrated when you're first adjusting
Hey Ski! Thank you for the tips! Although I have a question, I feel like recently they changed her movement speed when ressing in valk, somehow I always go out of range(I feel like I don't have that slow compared to when I normally use the ability), am I the only one who feels like something's not right? Thank you for your answer in advance!
Why did I never realize I see all the enemy healthbars during valk?! I mean i did pistol low health enemys but I never realized i saw all their healthbar because of valk lol
It's a REALLY frequent mistake that I notice. It's okay in some situations when the enemy isn't playing any heroes to punish you but it's sure to get you killed in others. It's also good to remember to not look straight down during Valkyrie or else you'll miss critical information about the enemy team
I've got my pistol sensitivity at 30 as well! It used to be 50 but I lowered it more and it's been pretty good. I hope it's been working out well for you!
When you Superjump by pressing crouch and trigger Angelic Descent, you'll float straight down like I do in the clip When you Superjump by angling and jumping, you will float in whatever direction you look w/o pressing any of your directional keys (for PC, WASD in the keyboard on the screen). In the clip I look and jump to the left so I float to the left. If I had looked and jumped to the right, I would have floated in that direction.
No, Sympathetic Recovery is still very much in the game. If you're injured and you're healing another ally that's not full health, you will heal off of them for 25% of 55hp/s
