Transformers introduced Tidal Wave, a very popular character from the Armada line who is now being released as a Titan through Legacy United! (Well, summer-ish.) In this video, three versions of this massive Decepticon are reviewed by Captain Kyle. The Armada version, the Japanese Armada Shockwave, and the Energon version.
Tidal Wave was popular from the get-go. This huge Decepticon could form the Dark Fleet, which consists of three powerful vehicles, combine those vehicles into a huge battleship that could fly, and then transform into a gigantic robot that can crush anything in its path! The original Hasbro toy was not released in show-accurate colors due to marketing, but the Japanese Shockwave looked spot on! Then when Energon was released, a new version of Tidal Wave graced the shelves at toy stores. Captain Kyle checks out all three before the release of the Titan that has so many fans excited!

There's a lot of weird naming conventions from that time, largely for that reason. Demolishor is named Ironhide in Japan!

I'm waiting for an update of Armada Sideways. The racing bike which came with a double minicon driver, which could split into two heads for the robot, making him either Autobot or Decepticon, also becoming weapons or two different riders for the bike. If they could match the animated model, or make him more poseable, or both... that would be awesome.

Tidal Wave is my favorite Armada character. He's my only Armada toy that's survived since it aired. I'm so excited Hasbro and Fans Hobby are making Tidal Wave toys.

Nice review! I own both American releases and have pre-ordered the titan. One feature you didn't mention is the storage hanger for Ramjet in the arm/carrier deck. We'll see if it carries over in the titan.

Man I wanted to see someone do a mod for this figure with parts to make it look like the Beast Wars Whale Version in the IDW comic books. In his combined vehicle mode the wings look like fins and the back feet open like a whale mouth. Easy to adapt it.

I have the energon version, the mould needed knees, and there was plenty of room for a simple right angled hinge into the side of the legs for it, also, titalwave is literally a boat, hes called the dark fleet, a battle ship, carrier and landing craft, he was a boat

Fun video, bro ~ real entertaining! 😂 PS. I still have the Micron Densetsu Shockwave in sublime condition. He goes best with the X-Dimension Sea Micron Team redeco (they are designed to bend their hips and knees, so, together with Ramjet, they can actually sit comfortably on the main deck's fold-out chairs and sip Energon-Tea together while reminiscing those good ol' times!) 😂🎉

Great review ! Although I was excited for the transformers Armada TV show only because I knew toys were coming and the possibility of them releasing G1 figures lol I never was a fan of this character he seemed so cheesey just like the show

I literally just watched the "Toys Are Russ" review of the Titan class TIDALWAVE, right before this one, so that was awesome, especially knowing how the Titan works in comparison to the Armada/Energon version(s)... Apparently, Hasbro sent him the copy of the figure to review, so he will have to send it back, but it's a nice piece of work, however, it does not appear to include the Ramjet minicon figure this time around... Definitely looking forward to getting that figure, although I'm curious as to how large the Fans Hobby version will be in comparison. I know their PowerBaser version of POWERMASTER Optimus Prime is quite large, and in MY OPINION, based on his portrayal in the comics and the Masterforce cartoon series, he's a solid G3 scale not the so-called MP scale he's touted as being... I believe he's too short for an MP version, but I love that figure as a mainline combined version... But I digress 😅 These are all 3 great figures, and I wish I would ĥī³⁶

the energon version is 1000x more awesome than the other two, although their pretty sweet as well. the american armada version is by far the weakest of the three, though.

So the japan version wasn't named shockwave because of the color swap, it's just not a great idea to name your character after something that is a real world threat that looms over your customer base, that as not many children would want a figure of something that killed a loved one.

@@Thomas_Name Tidal wave, the kids wouldn't want a toy named tidal wave, something that is a constant threat in that country, and loss of a great number of lives. As for shockwaves funny man yes those can kill also, they can burst all those vital organs inside your body, hell the right shockwave could rip the flesh off your bones, or fracture your bones into dust. See that's the funny thing about vibration it can do all kinds of fun little nasty tricks in the wrong hands. Isn't that just a laugh riot 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
