I use a hybrid method of relaxing my hand and rotational pressure as I pull through the shot with an Onne X clicker. Love shooting this release. Keep up the good work!

Great video !! I have switched from an index to the Stan Onnex click. It does make you slow down and think about your shot process. It has made me way more consistent in my shooting. It takes some time getting used to and is pricey but well worth it.

I use relaxing hand method. Going to try ring finger style. Love videos like this you do an excellent job explaining things. Tried using thumb pressure method but it was to inconsistent for me. Keep how to videos coming, been shooting 62 years and still learning. 🏹🏹🦌🦌🏔️🏕️🦃

I have used the build pressure with thumb method for 2 seasons now with the Stan Onnex thumb button. (Non clicker) it has greatly improved my groups after switching from a wrist strap trigger release. Very happy with this method. I have shot a lot of pistol and rifle, and building steady pressure on the trigger makes the most sense to me out of all the methods.

Thank you for this great video. Another one infact. I found the second version, expanding the hand to be the best, however, this requires to be able to build pressure/tension with the back muscles as you stretch your hand. I find this very difficult in tournament. I have it working 40% of the time for the time being and wonder whether this could be related to my draw length. By all means, thank you for what you do, This is my only way to learn and I get a lot of inspiration from your videos. I can only thank you so much for bringing all this to me.

Recently switched to the ultraview UB button and what I’ve found after tuning it to my hand. ( I’ve found that having a lighter thumb barrel weight. With the thumb barrel being more forward and having a consistent slow. Pull I’ve had. Much Tighter groundings since I made the switch! And it’s only about my knuckles

@BowOnlyOutdoors
@BowOnlyOutdoors 11 дней назад
@@OnTheMUV-PerformanceAndPurpose pretty natural for me to just have built up tension in my index finger with my thumb placed on the handle of the release. I then transition to the barrel once I’m on target. I don’t find this way comfortable with any other release outside of the UV, but it works well for it so that’s what I prefer on it. Other thumb buttons I have my thumb squeezed towards my pinky away from the thumb barrel when drawing so I don’t have an misfire.

I’m still shooting the tension release right now. I’m gonna transition to a thumb release soon, but not really sure what method I will go to. I really like the surprised shot I get from the tension release, and I feel like a lot of people still use the pull thru backtension method for the thumb button as well.

I really like increasing my back tension as I shoot as the primary way I activate the shot. But... It's easy to move too slowly during the shot. If that happens I switch to increasing pressure on my ring finger. So far it's been an effective one-two punch to get me through some difficult shots.

Another thing that helps with consistency is a small brass kisser button. Not the big ones, just a little one. I notice with your string angle that it wouldn’t work tho since you run your string higher on your face

@@garymatyok I wouldn’t say I have this figured out on where the “perfect” setting is quite yet, but as of my time behind it I prefer more movement to get to the click, with a firm but not heavy tension to get it to fire. Seems to work the best in hunting scenarios for me so far, but I’m sure it’s personal preference more than anything.

Thinking about trying out a Thumb Release but don’t want to spend $300 and not like the results/ or can’t get the hang of it. Any suggestions for a first time out on a Thumb release as far as a model?

I just got the UV button last week & trying to transition to it from an index. I prefer the first method you describe or "squeezing a fist". I too noticed that the fletching is about even with the corner of my mouth which seems like I should probably shorten my draw length. I'm not crazy about losing draw length TBH. Do you think that anchor point is too far back?

Are these methods the same for a caliper-jaw style thumb release? I have a Hot Shot Vapor I can’t seem to get used to and find myself always going back to my Wiseguy. I wonder if the sear mechanism is what I’m missing with my thumb button.

I find that contacting the barrel with my thumb and pulling the same way every time is my biggest challenge because I'm focussed on the pin. I try to break up my sequence into the setting up and aiming part and then move on to part two, the release part. I feel like I have the most anxiety to punch it when the pin settles dead center on the target and barely moves and I have mentality like, I need to get this shot off now! As far as how I activate the release, I try to choke up just a little on the barrel and then just gently pull and it fires. Curious where you set the force on your button. I'm one half turn from the lightest setting.
