I have a car that has been charged off. Bank owns the title. They don’t want me to make any more payments anymore or they won’t accept the remaining loan. Basically they want the car. I have a question? My car title loan was taking out in September 4, 2019 in the amount of $7000. I was not able to return to work do to my work injury and had to have surgery and is in State Disability. I live in California is there away for me to get my title loan back. My loan is still active with the company but they want interest now it’s $43,000.00. Is there a state limitation In California for title loans to be written off? Hi So I bought a car from a man, the car seemed as everything was okay, he received me on his house, car has a clean title, but when was trying to register it I learned there’s a hold and through an agent that has connections with DMV I learned that the former owner of the car put a hold on title saying it was falsely registered. I just acquired a 1992 Chevy that was bought off the showroom floor at the time but the current listed owner says he lost the title. So no chance of lien company sending repo man if up to date in payments and have contract that you are to take over payments. And do a few for a few months? Even if you have not so good or no credit? 2022 harley Davidson 48 be in my possessions. Just do the court done deal keep paying is no problem to me just want to be legal owner on record.
Thanks, this was very helpful so I have a little footing facing the situation I am in. I bought a car in March 2023 and unfortunately totaled it the following month. I had full coverage but the insurance claims said that in May it went into someone else's name and has been fully paid, that I need to get the title. The dealership should have done that and have no idea why it would be put in another person's name. Oddly the call with claims previously was a three way call to the Leinholder paying off the loan, except for 1000. Isn't full coverage if not full covered ....but how can that discrepancy be so vague? I hope to have more information today after visiting the DMV with dealership paperwork. Wish me luck.

My youngest sister passed away on January 16 2021 and my other sister is trying to transfer the car over to me,problem however the title has a lien which is a surprise to us. Here is the deal the place where she brought the car :a 1999 NISSAN ALTIMA GXE ,is no longer in business,which was brought from another company,but the building and the name on the building hasn't changed. They also said that they don't keep records past 5 yr. My sister wrote them a NON LIENS letter and she didn't mailed it,she took it to them personally,but they didn't sign it,saying that my late sister could still owe money on the car,but my other sister pointed out to them that if my late sister still owe money fr a loan why didn't they REPO the car,which now has been 2 yrs since she has passed. They couldn't answer this,so this where we are now,so what else could be done?
From what he said, it sounds like you'll have to use the Court Ordered Title process. This will force any parties having an interest to demonstrate same. If they can't, or fail and refuse to, you will prevail in the action. Good luck.
