CJ….as an older slow swinger..I install driver shafts in 3,4,5 Woods without tipping…to help with LA and getting the ball off the deck…

I think it’s good for you to mention the fact that you drilled out the hole in the shaft, because it’s important to not have that pressure buildup when you are placing the shaft into the hozzle. You didn’t mention that but you did it.

Enjoyed the vid...perhaps one day you can demo how to replace a rusty steel putter shaft with a suitable graphite and talk about any benefits that may come with that idea?

I noticed you used the heat gun on the 3 wood and used the torch on the driver shaft. Do you always feel comfortable using the torch on graphite or only when you plan on tipping it? Just curious. Love your videos, Thanks.

I have a Calloway Rogue 3W with stiff flex. I would like to add a X-Stiff shaft to it.. I like the feel of a heavier shaft and I think X-Stiff might feel better. Is it possible to get that swapped out? What shaft would you recommend for X-Stiff on a Rogue 3W?

How does the tip weight affect the seating depth of the shaft? Do you cut the thickness that the weight protrudes from the shaft tip? It seems it would have to have some effect on the seating depth given the thickness of weight. I would love to hear your thought as this has always drove my OCD crazy! Thank you.

If you remove the adapter what does this do to the length, I need to remove the adapter for the Sim2 max 3 wood, so wondering if I can use this shaft or I have a driver shaft I will have to use

I broke my driver shaft right at the ferrule/adjustable hosel. I was thinking of doing the same process(putting old driver shaft on my 3w); I don't know if it's too short? What measurement parameters should I be looking for. Thank you in advance for any help.

Is it always necessary to tip the driver shaft? If my driver and 3 wood use the same adapter, can I just cut the shaft to size from the the butt end? Or would that cause issues?

It’s a better, more modern shaft. I assume no trimming will be needed, but wonder if this could be a bad idea if driver and fairway shafts have very different bend profiles? Do you have any thoughts on this. Thanks.

I have to reshaft my rogue 3W. Wondering why you didn't use a shim15 for the .335 shaft going into a .350 hosel? Also did you have to trim down the collar on the ferrule? Or if you have the golfworks part number for the ferrule i'd be very greatful.

Hey man thanks for an awesome video! I have a tour issue callaway 5wood I got for a steal. But it was just a head and he is sending me a shaft to go with it. So I’ll need to install. That being said do you need to use golf club specific epoxy? Or will any epoxy work? Thank you for your time.

Hi guys I'm new to all this, dunno if I this is a dumb question. Is the shaft in a driver, 3 Wood and 5 wood all the same except the length? Ive heard people saying that they switched their driver shaft with a 3wood shaft and 3 Wood shaft with a 5 woof shaft to make them both shorter. I can see the logic in that. But it seems to be 2nd hand drivers are cheaper and would be easier to get hold of the shafts for so if they are all the same I'm thinking just get them and cut the shaft down, then sell the extra heads...

Do the shaft beads make the epoxy stronger? I should get some.

Hi AJ. I just took a 3 wood in to have them swap shafts for me. The fitter said that there would be a good chance that the grip on the new shaft (the one going on) would be damaged in the process and I'd need to put a new grip on it. That seems odd to me but as someone who doesn't know about these things, I didn't want to argue with him. Is damaging a grip something that happens sometimes when swapping 3 wood shafts?

Would you able to bend the woods eg.. Driver, fairway wood, hybrid. Because over the years just can't buy a wood which lies flat on the ground at address, the toe always up at address. Very frustrating!

Love your content, AJ. do you have a video of you hitting the longer driver and 3-wood? I am trying to shaft a PW, i bought a head off of ebay to match my set of Hogan Apex Edge CFTs. I pulled a hogan #4 apex shaft out of an extra 8i i had and cut it down, but now the SW is so far off (too light). True temper says not to tip these shafts as they are tapered. So I'm so confused, how do mfgs get matching SW in a set if they are just butt-cutting the same shafts, something doesn't seem right.

Can a 44” driver shaft be re-purposed to a 41” length for use in a 9 wood? I was fit for a “ Brand F” senior flex shaft for my Driver and 3 wood. I bought the same shaft model on eBay to put into my 9 wood. Will it still have the appropriate flex after shortening it to the needed 41” length ?

I'd like to take the 55 gr Alta CB shaft off of my Ping G410 driver and put it on my G410 3 wood. I don't want to make it stiffer so can I just cut a couple inches off the butt end? Would I have to do something with the weight? I've never done this before

I'm thinking of doing the same thing but one thing is confusing me. My driver shaft is 58 grams. When I cut it down it's obviously going to be lighter than 58 grams. This will make my FW shaft lighter than my driver shaft, which is not advisable. Is there any way to increase the FW shaft weight to around mid 60 gram weight?

AJ, I use a hrzdus smoke on my driver and love the shaft. I have an extra shaft that I now want to install on my 3 wood. The shaft weight is 60 gms but after tipping and cutting is the weight gonna drop a lot ? Shouldn’t the wood shaft be 5-10 gms heavier than the driver? You never explained what a weighting change would make for instance replacing a 65gm shaft with a 45gm shaft with the same head.

I am a senior golfer ( aged 67) with a Driver swing speed 87-90 mph. I noticed that my distances with my Cobra F9 5 wood and TS2 7 Wood were getting too close. I replaced the Cobra ( set at 17 degrees) shaft with a 44 inch shaft and achieved the increased distance, but now most shots are drawing too much. I am assuming this is because the longer shaft make the club sit with too much toe up for my swing. Is there a way to adjust this on the F9. My next idea was to cut back the shaft to 43 inches. Thoughts anyone?
