I locd my hair for similar reasons ...I was loose natural for 8 years even tho I was natural I found myself still chasing straight hair blow outs ... flat iron curl formers.. weave then one day I was like F this I locing my hair best decision I feel like my true self and I no have desire of having straight hair .. it's the easiest style I ever had this is the longest my hairs ever been (pass my boobs) and I would honestly say the most confident/ happiness I've ever had with my hair so much gratitude for this journey 22:49
