Spend the day with us making ribs on the grill, then stick around for some funny dinner conversations with Sophia! Sophia helps in the kitchen and then we sit down to eat together as a family. Dinner tonight was BBQ spare ribs, mustard potatoes and coleslaw, plus watermelon for dessert! #familytime #dinnerideas #bbq #ribs #cookingvlog
BBQ Spare Ribs Recipe:
BBQ Spare Ribs Ingredients:
* Rack of pork spare ribs
* Your favorite spice rub (We used Meat Church Honey Hog Rub)
* Your favorite BBQ sauce (We used Bone Suckin’ Sauce)
BBQ Spare Ribs Instructions:
1. Heat the grill or oven to 225 degrees fahrenheit.
2. Apply rub to the ribs on both sides and let sit for 30 minutes.
3. If using a smoker, add the wood of your choice for the smoke flavor. We used Cherry.
4. Put the rack of ribs on the grill bone side down and cook uncovered for 2 hours. One hour in spritz or brush the ribs with a 50/50 mixture of apple cider and juice.
5. After 2 hours, wrap the ribs in foil and add more apple cider/juice to the packet (an ounce or two). Let cook wrapped for 1.5 hours, meat side down.
6. Remove the ribs from the foil and return to the grill bone side down. Brush on BBQ sauce and let cook for at least 15 minutes. Use tongs to pick up the ribs to check if they're done. They are done if the meat breaks. If not, return to the grill and do the tong check every 15 minutes or so.
