I also upgraded from the BRZ to the 20 WRX premium. As much as I enjoyed the BRZ I knew I would be starting a family soon and needed more room so the WRX was a no brainer. We took the WRX on a 10 hour road trip and both my wife and I were fairly comfortable and once we got to our destination, we even took the car off road on some pretty rough trails that I probably wouldnt do again but was still impressed by its handling. In that same trip we also hit the dragon route 129 and had an absolute blast. The WRX really is the jack of trades. I dont have any mods yet but the premium comes standard with brembos. Would definitely recommend for someone that doesnt want to sacrifice fun for practicality.
That’s what’s up, man! It’s still a fun ride after nearly 5 years of ownership. The only thing I wish I had were those Brembos that the later gens came with! Glad to hear a 10 hr road trip was no issue, the longest stretch I did was only 4-5 hours.
Agreed, dealership is ok for some things like my example, A/C goes out, I had Hondacare at the time and repair was zero $. Yeah, a trusted 🚗 shop can do much more and likely give you good advice and cost, if you are a regular. ..👍 on the upgrade from a BRZ.
I know this is an older video but I have to say I have a 2019 Subaru WRX premium it has 26,000 miles on it it blew the engine 800 miles ago I've owned the car for about 5 months thank God there was no modifications done to the car so Subaru replaced the engine for free I don't know how the previous owner drove the car but I did have a 2005 Subaru Impreza RS and I was just driving down the road not on it at all and the engine let go and I do not drive my cars like I stole them but I do drive them either Subaru engines are not built very reliable or I've got the worst luck
Wow, sounds like the previous owner drove it rough. Glad you got a brand new motor though, that’s always a win! It’s a little bit of both from what I’ve been seeing. Lots of folks who drive their cars like they stole it but nothing happens and then folks who barely touch the pedal and have the motor blow.
Surgeline just installed the Exedy stage 1 for me a few days ago. From what I read on the internet the pressure plate on the stage 1 has a slightly higher clamp rate but the rep at Surgeline told me I was a OE replacement so now idk. Something to think about if you’re going Exedy
