I’m 21, got my CDL literally days after my birthday, same day I passed my test, got a job working local distributing food, you have to touch freight, but I am averaging 90k, have no kids, no wife, no school debt, living the life.
Been trucking for 2 months now. Got a grant from EDD that paid my entire CDL school. No restrictions. Got all my endorsements but passenger. And man oh man my only regret was not doing it a lot earlier. I got into a local mom and pop company flatbed and I’m loving it for experience. I get 30% of the load and averaging take home $1200-1350 weekly. Why didn’t anyone tell me I could make fukn bank just driving and quick 20 mins labor of strapping down from time to time to stay in shape. Sheeeeeet I’m never in my life going back to a regular ass fukn job! 🙏🏼 trokero locochon por vida!
How does the edd grant work ? How can i qualify ? I been studying the cdl book getting ready to test for my permit next week, i planned on going to a local school that runs 1500-1800 in my area then getting 6 months experience. But your way sounds real good!
@@itravel24 i live in ohio, and here we got a plce that helps you find a job,or write resumes, fill out applications, and the have programs you can sign up to get the funding for cdl, phlebotomy, and stuff like that..but you gotta do alot of bs in order to get the grant for it..here cdl cost 3600 for automatic 4000 for manual
I just started trucking school and I’m a bit older in age but things haven’t been the best for me in life. I’m hoping this will turn everything around thank you for your video cause it gave me the motivation to keep at it.
Thank you for all the free game. I have been holding off getting my CDL ever since I was 21 now im 25. Im going all in 2022. thank you for the inspiration.
I'm in Australia so it's not CDL but I'm the same, ever since I was 19 I LOVED heavy machinery, trucks and excavation. This year I'm going all in, getting my truck licence and all the tickets, followed by excavation tickets. Aiming to get into dump trucks/construction. Maybe the mines later in life ✌️
Bro this is motivating as hell. I recently graduated from cdl school and im currently riding with a trainer on his truck. and being honest its been alot harder than i expected. and ive been debating not going back alot of times.
Stay at it! Trucking is a great industry! You can also stay local if you don’t like OTR!! Don’t give up on your goals!! The only way you’re gonna learn is EXPERIENCE!! Backing , being situationally aware , taking care of your truck, etc etc all comes with time! I had to make many sacrifices to get my cdl through my company and now I’m on track to make double what I did delivering boxes last year! Be confident in yourself, and listen to everything your trainer says! Let go of any bad habits he may show you and keep/ improve on the good one’s!!! I’m only on about 7-8 months experience and I’m still obsessed! I’ll have my own trucks one day soon! Blessings!
I’ve been feeling really low because I’m a carpenter and work slowed down and I was getting stressed on how I’m gonna keep making money and I started thinking about trucking and I watched this video and you honestly got me really motivated thank you
I feel you bro I did carpentry for 4 years straight out of high school and I started getting depressed Bc I would think if that’s going to be my life but a friend encouraged me to get my CDL and tbh it’s way better driving then being out in the sun everyday. Just need to find a good company and you’ll be making more then carpenters
Hey Manuel can you give me an update on if you got your CDL by February 2022? Are you working local, regional, or OTR? How much do you make? What are your work hours?
I’m glad the army is paying for me to get my CDL, I have experience driving big vehicles hauling tanks (round 205k lbs and up including truck and trailer) but I have no experience on the civilian side dealing with brokers and what not. Point is your channel is giving me an incite so I’m ready when I get out, thanks bro
Man I feel you on that depression bit brother I spent a good solid five years of my life at dead end jobs making piss poor money before I went and got my cdl ! Now with my new job I'm finding more satisfaction plus I have a daughter on the way so she is who I'm doing all this for.
Awesome to hear bro, I’m in the same boat. Been really down on myself for a long time.. just got my CDL permit and start class January 10th! How was school for you? If you have time
@@wanghaf_Gl0yper school went smooth bro, i learned on the 10 speed and passed my cdl test first try, i studied the pre trip the most out of anything. I had experience backing trailers working for fedex as a hostler so that came naturally for me luckily
I’m 22 and already in the process of getting my cdl! This video is super motivational. Never thought about getting my own truck right after graduating I wish I had as much saved up to make a move like that but definitely will be saving up to get my own truck. Love the story
Congratulations on your truck driving success and future endeavors. I remember seeing your video where you would show the weekly pay statements as an owner operator. I've been trucking since 2011 and just bought my first 2016 freightliner cascadia. Good for you that you are self employed at a young age and keep up the good WORK Peace on earth 2022.
I remember watching the collaboration you did with Rey I found that as my motivation to get my cdl I am now a truck driver in Dallas TX, I have been driving for 6 months and really regret not doing this years ago. I was in the collision and mechanic business for 10 years. I ain’t going back 🙏 keep posting your videos brother. Stay safe out there.
@@zombie730 Go get get your CDL permit and DOT physical first. Then after that look for CDL schools you can get it paid for by WIOA grant at your unemployment office.
I’m 19 years old and got my CDL about a month ago, been driving with my dad for experience and gonna start working after i come back from my family vacation. Hopefully everything goes well and thanks for the video!
Your story is very lifting dude, I appreciate it. Im your age but Im pretty gun shy on buying a truck and doing my own business. Im sketched out about the mechanics, I dont know anything about fixing truck problems and finding the right work without getting screwed over is another fear. I live on the other side of the country but container work is pretty popular for local owner ops here. I know the main way to level up my life would be buying a truck though. Many people have told me that I should be doing that instead. You've got amazing drive man that is an absolute gift, keep it up.
Good job man just passed my cdl temp test hoping to get cdl b and do box truck loads otr. Just wanna say don’t be depressed about accomplishing goals ! People get the wrong idea about accomplishing goals. It’s not about making it to some high point it’s about being able to turn around and see everything you just did from a higher point of view then creating new goals to even get higher up . Don’t beat yourself up when it gets hard . Because if things are easy peazy your not pushing yourself or growing just staying the same . That’s not always bad but you get me right lol ?
Hey man, you Rock! I wish I had taken that path and made a move in business instead of wasting time/money in college. Just got a job with a local and looking forward to getting into the money that is flowing in abundance! Keep up the Great work!
Holy shit, dude your numbers went up!!!! Good shit man!! I remember when you used to drive the trucks that had tomatoes in them, man look where you at know, don’t stop!!
Like video, over a year ago I saw your tomato haul. Got motivated and decided to go for my CDL, more than half thru the process and excited for the future.
This is what I need to hear, honest experience from someone just like my age. Imma really get on this I’ve seen a lot of negative comments about trucking but you’re out here motivating young ppl like myself
Hey bro I’m about to get into trucking with similar goals to you man and this video really helped and motivated me in making my decision to get my CDL and start trucking. I’m just trynna get like you so glad you’re putting out these videos I thank you for all the info keep up the hard work it is all gonna pay off well for you can’t wait to see it.
Thank J.Vetum for priceless information regarding your start/builds to accomplish your reachable goals. Some people don't understand what you must go through to get yours. This vid is inspirational, and thanks to you, I'm motivated even more to start my own Truck/Transpo business. Thank you again, please make more videos. :)
Got my cdl 2 years ago did local work for beverage company and food service next week I start my new journey as an owner op keep grinding boys like he said it’s hard but simple

@@ton-locc8069 yes I did brother and honestly it was a bunch of help and I had zero experience driving one and now I’m driving confidently and with a new job so I recommend it
This is awesome, I got my license 2 years ago when I worked at the state. About to be 22 now and honestly wished considered trucking a year ago. Love the video! Keep it up!
i go for my cdl permit in 8 days and im so looking forward to this.. i have been a salesman for more than a decade and I hate it at this point. can't wait to be on the road making bank and putting my family in a better position financially
@@javontegreen6096 The background check took forever! It took 3 weeks because it was stuck at my county. So they have to do a Probationary hire. But tomorrow I officially start my training. I’ll let you know how it goes!
I’m in the process of getting my CDL right now and I’m gonna file my Dorsman’s and have a five-year plan and hopefully the own my own truck or within a year and a half and two trucks in 3 year And you are definitely motivation thanks
I barely got my cdl my story is similar to yours but different motivated me to really go for it and give it a shot In trucking. Great video thumbs up 👍🏻
this video helped me a lot. i just got my CDL and you’ve inspired just with what you’ve said. i’d be very happy to talk to you one day like just texts or something if you’d ever be able too
Just got my cdl from my work class A but on restrictions from automatic and pintle hook only. I plan on taking those off. For now ima keep learning. I appreciate you for sharing your story thank you 👍🏼
I’m in CDL school right now and also in the US Army. when I seen your first check was $4,360 and you said not that great lol it made me reevaluate life because I get $2100 I’m a month 😅
Hey can you give me an update if you ended up working as a truck driver? When did you start working and how much were you getting paid per week? Are you working local, regional, or OTR?
Hey, brother. I just found your channel. I dig your candor and honesty. Sharing your knowledge and experiences (good & bad) moved me. Liked, shared & subscribed. 💯
Im 22 from Portland and Im a technician for amazon. Although the money might be decent, Im tired of clocking in and out and slave away... A relative told me "Why make someone else richer when you can do it for yourself?" And from then on, I've been glued to the idea of trucking. My relative makes about 4k a week on average. Sometimes more depending on the season. I'm nervous leaving this job since I've been with amazon for years. Now time to become my own boss. My relative has a house paid off with land, 1 corvette , 1 gmc sierra, 2 snowmobiles, 1 jet-ski, and hes 24... Taking my CDL soon :) shout out from PDX!!!
Watched every single minute of this video & loved it I’m studying now to leave the industrial construction world & this video motivated me even more !!
I been working for dhl for five years. Been thinking about becoming a trucker but. I really got it sweet still getting bonuses because my warehouse busy. But i want the 3 4K a week
I’m in the Army, getting medically retired. They’re going to pay for my CDL school. Singing up this month. Your hustle and dedication inspired quite a lot of people
Got my cdl in 2014, stop doing it for a lil bit... just bought me 2014 freight liner cascadia and I start my journey as a owner op next week. Can't wait!!!
You reminded me when I started trucking all the struggles at the bigening wanted to be o op from the berry bigening the brakedowns the learning how to do my own rapairs etc etc. Started in 2008 and still working strong right now. Still learning every day.
J This Video was excellent!!! I Also follow Ken v and I respect that you guys did a colab. First of all . Thank you for the content you put out because you are giving out free information and your own personal expirience . That something you can't buy . your situation is unique . Keep pushing on your dream and just know I'm rooting for you . Second, Im from Connecticut and I grew up around bad influence and its rare that I find people with the same mindset . I have the same plan as to get into trucking industry and been owner operator. Its crazy how it is because when I express my goals to the circle I have they always tell me all the negative stuff that is involve on the industry . That is when I decided to stop talking about my goals and to just keep to myself and continuing my goals by my self. But people like you that express the whole process helps me stay motivated towards reaching those goals. Thank you. Lastly, I just recently made a year out of the system, I was locked up for 10 years at 20 years old. I took that time to grow and learn ways to get out of the hood and as of now my plan is in motion, I just got my CDL 2 months ago and I'm starting to work for the same company I was working in the warehouse for about 7 months. I believe this Opportunity is going to open a lot of doors and I want to thank you a lot for the motivation J. Its hard but Goals are not suppose to be easy at all..Great Video and never stop Making videos Brother.
I came across your channel during summer last year while I was still in trucking school and now I’ve had my cdl for 7 months and I’ve been a ready mix driver for 6 months. Now I’m looking into buying my first house at 28years old. Ambition is really important. My goal is rent out a room and continue to be a trucker and have more than one form of income. Life’s too short not to accomplish your goals! Best of luck this year
I start truck driving school for KLLM Texas January 10th 2022 can't wait 🌲🦌🤘🏼 all I really want is a nice big house and a truck that's it. If I end up getting more then what I wanted then so be it lol blessings are welcomed aha
Hey. I was watching your video middle of the night but just reading. So your a wild one and I clicked on it to tell you. I wrangled my way through college 50 years ago. So those PHDs were nuts but one said this. The epitaph on the tombstone above every small business that fails is written. Lack of cash flow. Good luck
I just signed up for classes to get my CDL. I start January 28 I’m nervous and excited. I have friends who are in the industry and are doing very well.
I’m 27 now and I went to a academy to get my cdl a through a company called ffe.. I only owe them 3k or 1 year and I can do something local or regional!… everyone’s regret is why didn’t they do it sooner?… hey better now then never
Hey amazing video very happy for your success ! Congratulations. Got me wanting to chase the trucking world. I love to drive that’s why. One thing I enjoy very much no matter what kind of car I drive. Even if that’s a huge truck. Lol. (Which I’ve never driven before ) lol
Good content bro, currently driving super 10 dump truck but your video’s are really making me want to buy a day cab, I’m just too scared to pull the trigger
I’m an electrician it’s a good career if you are planning to stick with it on the long run it pays of but you pretty much have always in some type of school and for the most part you’ll be the one paying and it doesn’t come cheap when you are trying to raise a family. Me personally don’t want to work my whole life and barely making a living I think trucking is right because you don’t need all these different schooling through your career and you don’t really have literally fight for your wage you have really motivated me to become a trucker so I can start a business and create opportunity for me and my family and not wait 15 to 20 years to finally start making good money moves
