Great haul!!! There's several titles you picked up that I'm SO STOKED to hear you talk about in book vlogs

The best tip I received when getting into fantasy was to let names and titles wash over you. It can be overwhelming if you try to remember everyone and what they do. Things will click into place as you learn more about the characters / world. Also we had similar pick ups from the bookoutlet sale! 😊

Omg if you want to get into fantasy, please read Game of Thrones! I finally did and I’m obsessed.

I really enjoyed The Butterfly Garden. I ended up reading the whole series. I think I gave 2 of the books 5⭐️’s. I hope you like it enough to read all of them!

Oh man, I read Killing Stalking years ago and I still think about that series. It's such an incredible psychological horror thriller series. I loved Legends and Lattes, its mostly just low stakes good vibes, very fast read.

I'm trying fantasy as well! I'm starting with The Shadow Of The Gods by John Gwynne. I'm enjoying it so far! The fact that you sang the man you cappin song is everything! 😂 And the squeaky toy noises, hilarious. I hope you enjoy your new fantasy journey!

Queen of Teeth is really good. It's freaky and it's about the importance of body autonomy against a repressive society. I guess it's like cosmic body horror. It's neat.

I have the Butterfly Garden on my list as well. I’ve been looking for books similar to Silence of the Lambs, that sounds like it could work. If you want more fantasy you could try The Lies of Locke Lamora. It about a group of well trained thieves in a underworld, Venice like city. They’re planning a heist but get caught up in a bigger game. Really interesting group of characters.

I just read my first Brom book and loved it! I need to read more. Can't wait for your ACOMAF video so I can recommend lots of weird fanfics 😉

That 1000 page book looks heavy and scary!!! Yikes….. like 1000 piece puzzles …. Makes my head and hands hurt just thinking about it 😂

A Day of Fallen Night is a prequel and can absolutely be read first and be read alone. I started it in November and I'm still reading it 😅 I'm still really enjoying it, I just needed a break because it's such a huge book. Don't worry too much about the words in the glossary. All you need to know is that it's a book about a religion that has many different takes on it. The words do okay when you read them in context.

My Vice is Your Unfathomable Agony was really fun. You will like it. When I met PC3, I was also buying THE CUCK, and he mentioned that he edited it. Lol. Haven’t read it yet, but I bet it’s fun. Also I have ex boogeyman too, Triana is good.

I have 3 of these books too and haven't read them yet. Empire Of The Vampire, Legends And Lattes and Not So Perfect Stangers. Everyone absolutely loves Legends & Lattes so I had to give it a try. This is a great haul. Good luck with the fantasy book lol. I think the Vampire one will be good😊.

I hated Priory of the Orange Tree. For such a long book, it left me with nothing, I was soooo disappointed 😢 but I hope the prequel is better 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼

If you want to read fantasy try The Final Empire by Brandon Sanderson. I'm not into fantasy but reading this book was enjoyable.

Beartown is great and tore me to pieces! Swedish books tend to be a little too slow paced for me, so I am not super into the author in general, but that was really good book. Also, I'm joining you in the Tiffany D Jackson fan club. Wasn't super into Slewfoot, it was an interesting enough story, but the beginning was all showing instead of telling, and the writing wasn't the best for me.

Random book recc but have you read Night of the Mannequins by Stephen Graham Jones? It is super short and hilarious. Not too extreme more general horror but i think about it all the time cause its so stupid (in the best way)

Maybe you’ll like something more like grim dark fantasy more than the romantic fantasy. Something from Joe Abercrombie may be more your speed

Girl, our psyche is so similar. I love when you do these hauls, I always have another tab open so I can add the books you mentioned to my cart or wishlist. I have to make sure I’m reading in private with no one around or else I feel like I’m going to get arrested and suspended from work. Should I tell my psychologist about my weird ass fascination with the macabre??😂

An important distinction for The Butterfly Garden: they’re not women when they’re abducted, they’re teen girls. The synopsis is a little misleading, but I think that’s important for people to know before they decide to read it. So many things in that book made me sick to my stomach, but I don’t regret reading it. I read The Summer Children by the same author first, and I kind of liked it better. Still tough, though. Oh, and the way the sound of the dog toy came through my headphones made it sound like it was happening somewhere behind me. I don’t have pets, or anything that squeaks, but my first thought was wtf is my boyfriend doing?? 😂

I know you read a lot of extreme horror..The Last One to Burn might be extreme to some, but I would say what it is is cruel, it’s awful, it’s heartbreaking in all the worst ways. Not saying you’ll cry, but it’s just cruel, it’s dehumanizing, it’s a painful novel. I don’t read extreme horror so I don’t want to judge, I’m guessing Will Deans book has more depth than a slasher/gore fest which makes it stand out. Psychological horror to the max. Enjoy, I actually think you will 😊

ok Meg let me help ya from a fantasy Expert :) Samantha Shannon is not great just skip it and a WYRM Is a kind of Dragon/Serpent. Legends and Lattes IS a cozy fantasy it s a good book but understand its cozy and very laid back not a lot of action just a quiet comfort read, Empire of the Vampire is just BADASS. It wont be hard to follow for a fantasy novice because it feels very horror adjacent and no wimpy sparkly vampires here
