Today I review the brand new 2022 Genesis G80 and discuss over 30 cool and interesting features and quirks of this under $60,000 luxury mid-size sedan! This competes in the world of Mercedes Benz E Class, BMW 5 series, Audi A6, Lexus ES/GS, Acura TLX, Cadillac CT5, and Volvo S90 among others. This is a really nice car. A lot of times these new luxury cars are better than the old brands because they can't rely on name alone. There has to be real quality behind their products

One feature that is probably my FAVORITE feature with Genesis, is the Heads Up Display. It is ONLY available on the 3.5 Prestige, but having it now, I am spoiled and will hate when I get another car if it doesn't have it 🤣

At least Genesis gets what luxury means. I'm so tired of luxury cars trying to be sporty. Gone are plush interiors with smooth suspensions. Instead, we've got sports sedans with leather seats. Who knew that Hyundai, makers of the Pony and the Excel back in the day, would do luxury better than Cadillac, Lexus and Mercedes? Sure, they've got lots of tech and leather seats, but every commercial I see emphasizes handling and road feel. When you have back pain, those don't matter. A luxury car should be soft, luxurious and silky smooth. If you want a sports car, get a sports car. A luxury car is the exact opposite of a sports car. It's just too bad cars are getting rid of V12s and V8s. They are such smooth engines. It's not always about power. A V6 with a couple of turbochargers doesn't scream luxury to me. It's what you put in a sports car. Hyundai made a big mistake getting rid of their 5L V8.

If anyone told me 10 years ago that I would be interested in buying anything that was a Hyundai, I would have laughed at them. The truth is, Hyundai has come so far in the last decade. While Lexus and Toyota are both in the Top 4 for JD Power for reliability, Kia, Hyundai, and Genesis (All 3) rank in the top 7. Hyundai is really doing something good. I now own a 2020 G80 Sport, and honestly, I wanted a Scat Pack Wide Body Charger, as I've driven a Charger since '08, but this Genesis has made me ok with not going with it. I have followed your videos for the last few years, and I guess I missed a bit though, because I didn't know you were doing reviews lol. Keep up the work man. It's well worth it!

Completely agree with you man. South Korean cars have come an extremely long way and have their own distinct and interesting styling. I really like their direction. Congrats on your G80 it's a great looking car and thanks for sticking around the channel over so many years!

After many years of 36 month leases with Lexus (ES 350 Ultra Luxury packages), I have decided to lease a 2024 g80 AWD Advanced come January 2024. My primary reason: Lexus now only offers a touch navigation screen. I love the option of having both a touch screen and haptic dial on the console as offered by Genesis. I believe it's a much safer option. Thanks for this in-depth review!

Awesome video bro, keep up the great work, those Genesis are fire and very nice I’ll definitely take one of those but can’t buy in Cali too damn high and expensive lmao 🤣 but that car nice and got tons of room in it and the suv is even nicer but great video bro great explaination and review of this car. Great review!! I think I would go for the larger engine though..I think that car is a little too big for a 4 cylinder

Appreciate it man! That would be a great choice! The 4 cylinder is surprisingly adequate power for this thing even though it's a large sedan but V6 would for sure be quicker. I'd be curious to drive the 3.5T Sport and see how it compares.

I own a 2020 G80 Sport, and I am so happy I do. I test drove a 3.8, but weighing in at almost as much as my previous car ('06 Charger) around 4200+ lbs, it did move, but this twin turbo V6 is AMAZING. It's night and day!
