Yeah, those are red flags/turn-off’s for me. I hate the smell of cigarette smoke (even though I’m around it with my mom and sometimes older half sister), I don’t like when people drink a lot of alcohol and get drunk (my step dad does when he’s at home if he’s had a bad day), and yeah, I hate the smell of weed, so weed and other drugs are a big no for me

I ignored A LOT! Saying he had more in common with his ex and always pointing out our differences and blaming me for his new boring status. Red flags: arrogance, porn-watching, cancelling time with me to spend time with family and friends, daily alcohol drinking, strip club attending, having female friends, and NEVER making me a priority. Now he paraded me around his family, but after almost 7 years, I realized he was never going to post me on social media. The thing that ended it was him ignoring/ghosting me because of anger. His anger scared me. The things he would say when someone angered him... 👀 He admitted he was holding a grudge against me. I had seen him do it to family members but never thought he'd do that to me. He used to say he was cursed because of all the things that happened to him. Now I know that everything he went through came from a higher place to get him to repent. His stubbornness won't let him though. I've worked on myself with God and repented for my willful sinning. I hope he does the same. Thank the Lord for allowing the hardening of his heart. It helped me move.

God has always been great in showing me the red flags at the very beginning with my past couple of relationships and a couple of guys I ‘talked’ with but unfortunately I never listened. I’ve been single for over a year now and I’m hoping that the next person I date is the one I marry. I’m tired of getting into relationships and getting hurt. I loved your videos!! I wouldn't mind if a guy I was dating enjoyed playing video games - as long as he doesn't do it to the extreme where it interferes with his life's responsibilities (walk with God, work, relationships, important obligations, etc.) and he doesn't want to do anything else. If it does, then I think he's taking it too far. But that's me. No hate or "criticisms" if you're not into it.

You are COMPLETELY valid when you're concerned about how they treat animals!! If a guy would treat an animal badly, that says something about his character. For example, you know how they say that an dog can tell when a human is bad news, there's something too that. I don't know what it is. Maybe they can just feel the human's vibes, but something is there. I once had a friend that she had two dogs. She was dating a guy and her dogs never liked him. Turned out he was a jerk. Seriously, if you're not paying attention to your own instincts, pay attention to your animal. They will let you know when something's not right!

@Brazilian Goddess it's not about not having confidence. It's about not knowing if there was something there before or unaddressed feelings. I dated a guy who had friends that were girls and it didnt bother me AT ALL. Welp I learned that lesson because he cheated with one of them. It was never a confidence thing. It's a "can I trust you" thing

My best friend before I moved so we’re not as close anymore (plus it was right after college when people change a lot) was a woman and she was my best friend who we could both talk to each other about anything which I’ve never had with guys. I had 0 attraction for her and she was really like my sister. If the person I was dating found out and was like I don’t want you to be friends with her or talk to her about personal things about you, I would not only that’s the ultimate flag of someone who is extremely jealous and possessive, my experience and from what I’ve noticed from others is that it usually from people who themselves can’t be around other people of the opposite sex without it turning sexual

There’s also red flags on Christians lol 😂 too controlling and possessive. ( not saying all are the same)The last two Christian guys I dated were a bit controlling no humility, One told me No makeup! The other, if you don’t pray like this the marriage won’t work. Very legalistic it’s just not my style. They were both in ministry and I thought I was going to possibly get married. Long story short you could also be unequally Yolked with Christians too. I was hurt 😞 but oh well it’s just frustrating. I want a much more humble Christian not a controlling freak or a legalistic but a guy who is down too earth and takes times to get to know me and not control me and but most importantly is not self righteous but does what he can to have a relationship with Christ and lives it

I totally agree with you about pornography not being something I can handle. It feels to me personally just as if I've been cheated on. It destroys my trust. It ended up ruining my first marriage. My second marriage, it also became an issue, but there was something worse that ended up causing the end of that marriage. I just don't want to deal with any issues like that anymore, so am planning on being single the rest of my life. It's sad, but that's how it is. I know a lot of people don't agree with my feelings about pornography. Any woman who has been able to heal a marriage after dealing with things like that, I have the utmost respect for.

May GOD help you in this journey and yeah the pornography thing is definitely not okay because it's just wrong in so many ways leading to not want your significant other, lusting after another person(s) - adultery, and cheating on your spouse in your heart and in real life (adultery), agreeing that it's okay to have sex outside of marriage (not okay) these all sin of sexual immorality and so much more.

I totally agree with you about the girlfriends. I ended up being the "problematic" jealous girlfriend because I couldn't accept getting too physical with them like hugging, caressing, getting too close, touching, comments on social media. And he claimed that I am the one full of complexes. That drove me nuts and I am glad that other women agree cause he tried to convince me that I am the crazy bitch

Really wise advices! Thank you so much to share it. I always feel that as I have some insicurities I have to wait till the moment when I feel perfect, to then find somebody. A friend of mine she told me the other day that this is not what love is about, you can still have some insicurities or things to work on, and find love anyway. Because otherwise if you wait till you have zero insicurities or till you are perfect... That is not gonna happen, because life is a process.

I know I'm a bit late but there's only 1 reason why a guy won't post you on his social media: because he doesn't want to upset the others. It's been 2 years, have you found the one? Are you still looking? I don't even have social media and you're really beautiful. I know this is probably creepy but I know you're most likely not even gonna see this haha! But anyway, I'm 23, working on my career, I'll be ready for marrige in a couple years but maybe we could keep in contact until then if you're interested? We wouldn't visit or anything because I'm remaining celibate until marriage. Don't worry, I'm actually good looking, I'm not a wolf, that's just my favourite animal. See, I already don't have the last red flag (although I don't want to live with animals, I just think wolves are sick). I don't usually do this on RU-vid, I'm gonna search on Christian Mingle for my wife soon but just on the off chance.....HAHAHA! I don't have any of the red flags listed in the video and was literally watching just to find out what deal-breakers Christian women tend to have. Of course you might not be a Christian, and if you're not that's a deal-breaker for me.

Another red flag is when he needs a "sign" to feel confident about your relationship, instead of seeing all the positives and appreciating love and loyalty. .he needs to know the direction he is going in and be able to follow through on his promises

This generation doesn't have forgiveness and unconditional love. You are expecting so much from a person. "Fulfil these expectations otherwise you are not worthy of my love." That's the modern love mantra. The real biblical principle is. "No matter what sin you commit, I will stay with you, forgive you and be faithful to you."

Another few red flags that have come up recently for me have been, whilst in the initial getting to know each other phase- barely saying anything over text, having a disrespect for the government/law (despite your opinions on them), and asking my love language in about our second conversation. Also being overly flirty!

Nastacia, you are teaching people how not to accept a sinner. Love is not to expect the other person to do what you want them to do. That's selfishness. Love is to accept the person as who he or she is, a sinner. All the points that you mentioned are selfish cries that say, "Love me". You are forcing love. You must be willing to stay committed to the other person even if he or she commits sins against you. You must love them unconditionally and forgive them. This is what the Biblical mandate is, to love just as Christ loved the Church, in forgiveness and unconditional love. It needs guts to love someone, you need guts to forgive. My ex-boyfriend was a Christian but of a different denomination but he has influenced me to fall short. I know that I also have a choice but I literally grew up in a Christian family and I was really a devout Christian.. but he was this kind of Christian who kinda just goes to church and then goes home like and he's back to his old self. It lasted for 5 years until eventually he broke up with me. Many times I know that God already told me to stop it but I didn't, I was so influenced and I let my flesh and emotions take over me. It's really sad because I know that I should've known better :( I should be the one to influence him to grow deeper in Christ but it's the other way around. I still feel really guilty up to know, I broke a lot of rules for him- which is def not worth it!

Girl!!! I feel the same..I’m just getting out of something like this..where we was from a different denomination. I was trying my best throughout the relationship to bring God as our focus and not our own pleasures.. it was really hard and when I was engaging in this and being influenced..I was wavering in my faith and it was really hard to pick up the Bible or engage in any church activities. I feel like God stopped all of this to save me and my faith.

I feel the same way! I've only been with my boyfriend for about 4 months but it just doesn't feel right. Even at the start I felt as if it wasn't quite right but I followed my feelings and now I still feel very strongly that it's not right. I feel like if I ignore this feeling longer it will just lead to more hurt and unhappiness. There are quite a few red flags the main one just being that he's not a godly guy and I just feel like it could seperate me from living life the way Jesus wants me to especially as in the first month I was led a bit astray. I'm really scared to end it though as it's my first relationship and I know it will still really hurt as I care about him a lot. I also know he'd be heartbroken but it's just really not right as we want completely different things. Please pray that I will seek God and continue following his path instead of being led by my own emotions. 🙏💕

I sort of agree with "immediately trying to get physical." But I think it also depends on the context. Like, if you're dating someone that you're literally _just_ getting to know and you were maybe barely acquaintances before starting to date, yeah, I agree. But, there's also situations where for instance, the couple were best friends before they officially decided to date. So it was clear from the get-go that they already know each other really well, already feel comfortable with each other, and already attracted to one another. In which case, it might not be so bad for them to get physical right away if they wanted to. Either way, I understand what you're saying and where you're coming from. In the context you seemed to allude to was the former of the two circumstances I mentioned, not the latter. No hate or anything. Just mentioning that nuance for clarity. :-)

Yes girl... if you date a guy that isn’t a Christian and you are... you won’t realize it right away but the longer you are with that person little by little you will begin to wonder off from God! Just like Peter in the Bible, as long as he kept his eyes on Jesus he could walk on water... but when he lost focus he started sinking! If you take your eyes off of God and you start to focus on your “boyfriend” You’ll start sinking! Never forget that The Bible says not to be unequally yoked and there’s a good reason for that!

I don't have a strike system, but I do set a deadline in my head if I see that the other person is not willing to make an effort to fix something in the relationship after multiple conversations about the matter. If by then and even more convos later they are not willing to change that thing, I'm gone.

I remember my ex during the time we were dating he said one of my professors was hot after I sent a pic of her while she was lecturing. It caught me off guard and I tried laughing it off immediately. I told him I was surprised he would say that to me. He justified it by saying he’s a man and has needs. I called him out on it and how that made me think he wasn’t serious about pursuing me. He circled back, apologized, and said he’d do better (he said he would behave first). I should have dumped him there. We were 6-7 months in. Ultimately we lasted for a year and a half. Other issues came up that check off a lot of what is on the red flag list 🙃

I'd say calling someone pretty is fine, but if that person was like hot damn she's fine, then that would be uncomfortable at that stage, because I reckon there's a big difference between a small compliment and an over the top pick up line sorta one

Damn, my ex fit the description! He was vegan and always tried to “advise” me in what to eat and what’s healthy. I’m a grown ass woman. I know what to eat. And he could NOT stop smoking weed, I mean Mary Jane was his girlfriend (not me!), also he definitely made me feel insecure about my body shape and just me as a person. Omg it’s crazy. He watched a lot of porn too. 😐🤭 like too much... And the way he spoke to his mom?! I’m from the south and if I EVER spoke to my mother like that, I would be 6 feet under and there would be a funeral. I would never speak to either of my parents the way he spoke to his mother. Toon town and the sims! Love those games. 😅

Agree with you on all levels, and the part about abusing animals could mean they are schizophrenic or serial killers.

How on earth does abusing animals suggest someone has schizophrenia? Schizophrenia is a mental illness that often makes the sufferer vulnerable and distressed. They are far more likely to hurt or be a danger to themselves than to other people or animals. Of course violence and abuse can be committed by people with schizophrenia, but it is very unlikely caused directly by the schizophrenia itself. It’s more likely to be the result of a person already being violent/abusive while also happening to have schizophrenia.

I agree with literally every single one of these points! Had to learn all this from experience 😅 my God. I just can't follow advice if I haven't learned the lesson first hand haha. Only point I could disagree with is the guy having female friends bc I also have "close" male friends I could never imagine dating. But not everyone is "capable" of being pure friends with the opposite gender. Anyway great great wisdom here. May God bless you abundantly you lovely lady :) ❤️💐

On the disrespectful to women part- just know that said guy may not be on good terms with their mom or sister. Being on good terms is not a requirement for respecting someone.

For me being too needy or promising to rescue or fix me. That's recipe for codependency. I also agree with not keeping up with exes. There was a reason you left it best to make a clean break for the sake of the new relationship

Guy here. Personally, I've never had a girlfriend. My dad was airforce so friends at all was rare, and military families don't keep in contact after leaving the military. I only have 1 female friend which I made last year from a dating app, but I choose not to date her because of my own personal flags that make her a bad choice. Any advice on what I can do? Pre-covid I played cello at my church. I'm working towards being a pastor, but I find it a daunting, impossible task. I never seek perfection in others, actually I seek imperfection. All my friends have only ever been social outcasts, because when you can give them the care they need, they really shine. You'll never find a better friend than the one you help out of the shadows and into the light. I have been hurt, it wasn't a dating thing, but she thought I wanted more than I did, and so she chose to end it. I'm a loving friend, I'll worry, and i value spending time with my friends. Which again, I have had few and that's why it's valuable to me. Any advice, people here, not just the video maker, all constructive and destructive criticism help. There is value in breaking down things that shouldn't be made in the first place.

I have to disagree with the one about him not coming to you. My boyfriend and I both live with our parents, and my mom is immunocompromised. So due to Covid, she’s not comfortable with hi. Being in our home. She does like and approve of him, it’s more a health and safety issue.
