Oldest cigar I've smoked was a 20 year old Padron 1926 and it was terrible. It lost all of it's flavor and was such a super disapointment. It was a valuable lesson about holding on to something for too long waiting for the "perfect moment". Just smok'em if you got'em!

I purchesed it off of a guy locally from his personal box he had left. I'm not a huge fan of Arturo Fuente cigars, but this particular stick was recommended to me as a different kind of experience. It was suggested to me to pair it with a qaulity cognac when i do decide to smoke it.

I'm so pleased to see you guys smoke those. They are meant to be aged but, At the end of the day, they are meant to be smoked. Super cool video guys. I would imagine that the environment the cigar was aged in could have a pretty significant impact. Maybe that crappy Monte #2 you had was aged in somebody's unhumidified sock drawer for 20 years... lol. Interesting how these amazing works of art can be influenced so much by how they are cared for over the years. Cheers!

cigars take in flavor from the humidity their in. this is why you can infuse them by leaving a shot glass of whisky in a bag instead of a boveda. i imagen a cigar aged in a boys gym locker room would have quite a musk. lol but put it in oak or spanish cedar i bet the wood box its aged in can effect it too but im no scientist.

Aging strong cigars is definitely the way to go. I just opened Viaje ten ton tess jar, viaje honey and hand grenades original and Viaje wmd 2015 like 6months ago, and if you don't know these are some very powerful and full Bodie cigars. The ten ton tess just reaked of raisins and is still strong and peppery. The wmd has a strong chocolate bar scent. The honey and hand grenades original is like 12yrs old and is very flavorful. The strength of the cigar is definitely going to make a difference in the results you achieve when aging your cigars.

Nothing smokes like an aged Davidoff. There’s something about how they cultivate their tobacco that absolutely gets better over time-specifically with the lighter blends. The Millennium, Late Hour, and 702 don’t have the same “oomph” after 3 years+ of resting, which is expected as the flavors blend together and calm down. However, the special edition Winston Churchill cigars have gotten immeasurably better. The 2019 and 2021 are absolutely phenomenal compared to when they released. I’m curious to see how an aged Yamasa or Escurio will smoke after 3-5 years. I burned an Aniversario Double R that’s around 15 years old, and I had the same experience as Tim and Dustin with their 30 year aged Lanceros. It was a delightful cigar and a terrific experience! I was blown away by how much better it was than a newer Aniversario off the shelf. Davidoff is special, and I’m a believer!

I was blown away by the Archetype Axis Mundi - I stocked up on them with a stash of just under 30 in a properly humidified humidor. Two years later - it wasn't worth it. That magical taste was gone. I'm glad I stumbled on to the Persian Kings, which gave me a similar flavor profile while being way better in every regard. Saving & Storing cigars is almost a waste because you never know which way it could go for the most part. On the other hand, I have smoked some two and half-year-old Privada 9's, and they were great - nice & mellow without the bark and spicy edge while maintaining an awesome taste.

Eddy shahakian talks about this that cigars tend to go out but come back again a few years later and then die down again and then come up. They describe it as a wave pattern, I suggest you to come back to it again to that blend after 5-7 years to see if the flavours come back again.

Oldest cigar I ever smoked was one I actually purchased from Davidoff in London, following advice from Eddie Sahakian himself. San Cristobal "El Principe" which had been aged since 2001. A great little smoke but truthfully, the flavour was very one-dimensional and lacklustre. I can't say for certain whether this was attributable to the age, or whether it was just the profile of the cigar, but over time I've gravitated towards New World cigars over Cubans for much the same reason. That said, best Cuban I've smoked (my dad agrees) is the RASS; absolute flavour-bomb. Greetings from the UK

With my cigars I don’t see the point of holding onto a lot of them or expensive ones they’re made to be smoked and enjoyed. They arent made to just sit in a humador for years, you might aswell just have a picture of them, the only time I would save a cigar is if I know there is a very limited amount and I have to have atleast more than one so I can actually try it, I feel like knowing what it tastes like and what experience you get from the cigar also makes the cigar more valuable to you. The only other time I would age one is if it was a gift but if I’m using my own money I’m smoking them.

By the way if you want to slow the aging on your cigars keep them in the celophane. I do this anyway but it acts like a time capsule and significantly slows aging. Dont beleive me beleive Edward Sahakian who runs the number one cigar store and lounge in the world. I dont understand how people watch a channel that says that 5 years is too long to keep cigars in your humidor. Thats insane and they must take very bad care of their cigars for that to be true. The average age of my cigars is about 7-10 years old with many new cigars and many that are up to 20 years aged. I have yet to smoke a cigar that is over 10 years old that has performed in a way that has made me question my storage. I have smoked many cubans that require a solid 3-4 more years before they mature and many times they get even more mellow but dont lose their flavour after 10 years. I understand that this is subjective to a degree, however, the most reputable conisseurs in the world disagree with this channel. When it comes to research and experts I tend to listern to, because of my own experiences with their advice, those with Master of Havana Cigar certificates and many out of London.

Davidoff was my first cigar I had on my 21st birthday and I'll be picking up my second Davidoff to smoke for my anniversary and birthday very soon. To be frank, I rarely like visiting the shop. I wish Davidoff was a bit more democratic on who gets to carry their cigars since many of my favorite cigar shops have a sort of "camp fire" feel to it and those are by far my favorite places to smoke and shop.

Real Cuban Cigars are not aged before they release them for sale, basically they are rolled boxed and send off to retailers, that is why Cuban cigars are perfect for aging if you have the means to store them in a controlled environment, that being said 3-10 years will be a good time for the cigar to age and bond those flavors, "New World Cigars" is a different story, they are aged for at least 3 years before they hit the retailers shelfs so aging a cigar for too long it may not be beneficial, 2-5 years may be more suitable if you wish to age a cigar after that there is a chance that it may be either great or bad, it is recommended that if you wish to aged some cigars they need to be in the medium to strong cigar so with time it gets a little mellow, everyone have different opinions, if you love to enjoy cigars just smoke them, if you have a good amount of cigars in your humidor it is most likely that some aging will take place if you keep buying and not smoking a lot.
