Great video again. When you sort those smaller shears out so they don't lock up or spread apart and have the switch where you're holding they will eat through those bigger spools. I am surprised a little that the JOL don't cut through the whole spool in one go. Shows the strength of twisted cable I guess. Don't you love really productive days, bring them on! Cheers again from Australia.
On the trigger. A 2 part trigger, for safety for the little jaw would be handy. You would be able to click on your side for easy operation. Less turning/ reaching and bending, less likely you overreaching. The one I’m saying is like a detonator trigger. The two part trigger would be less likely to cut power wire or even the pump line. I know you’re also thinking of the helpers using the tool. Gonna be swimming in copper soon.
Try to attach that button to a wooden base and then put it on the floor and press it with your foot and you will also have both hands free while working with the jaws ... Try it will be easier for you ... It is a foot button ...
I have copper wire sold last week. Kept 100kg as I follow all news on copper price it was China saying they r not wanted as much that reduced the price. I think looking at what's happening I believe the price will go back up.
Question- If you have such "nice" coils of the wire @6:13 for example, why do you cut it into smaller sections? In those scenarios is it not more efficient to just uncoil it and feed it through the stripper as 1 long piece?
Yes, But unless you have some one on the back side it gets in a big tangled mess. Also depends on how thick it is, running long pipes of 500 mcm is not easy. lol
Is your crane scale just an ebay special? And how long has it served you well for? Wondering if I should just spend the extra money on a reputable brand?
Are you still going to put a return spring in the switch? I still can’t quite believe how much elec cable you process, through that bloody terrific cable stripper mate good on ya.
Is that first electrical contractors company you were at just to busy to take the wire to the scrap yard themselves? I'm trying to find electrical contractors so I can find connections like you have with the companies you have connections with. Can't help but wonder how likely it is contractors won't just take it to the scrap yard themselves. Maybe just to time consuming? Idk.
Most electricians that I know save their own copper nowadays. So apparently where you are they don’t so my question is if Koepper is going for $3.25 a pound stripped and clean how much do you pay these people per pound for their copper wire I hope you don’t mind my question just curious
In Florida the scrapping laws are in his favor it's a bitch for a regular guy to get paid there. You have to wait on a check in the mail unless you're a licensed secondary metal processor. In my area most electric companies don't let their employees scrap as it encourages theft and over ordering material. That's something you should check into in your area.
Is there any penalty(I want to know for research purpose) to burn that isolation from the cable and pour copper ingots after? In Romania is a big war agains this behaviour... Good quality M3 Tape =)))
why couldnt you run 10 feet of wire while keeping it in the machine and then have 2 reels on the other end and then loop one end of the copper to one reel and then connect the insulation to the other reel and when you press feed the stripper pulls the wire and the 2 reels wind backward at the same speed? that way you can just run long length or maybe the copper goes into a grinder only thing I am thinking maybe the twist in the wire makes it impossible to have them split apart evenly?
I like the concept and I have been wanting to build a automatic donut maker. You would not want to grind the copper once its stripped. You are not upgrading it or gonna get any more money for grinding it. I will be experimenting with the donut maker but you really just need 2 people and a big box. lol
I don't know why but your area gets good prices, the place I go to don't buy from the public, the local public yards pay even less. lol I wish I had 10,000 lb of copper I'd be driving your way. lol Thanks for watching
@@ProjectShopFl hell yeah or I'll meet ya half way for like 3 precent hahaha and you still be making more hahaha. I get upset about prices my bad bro. No disrespect my dude your out there doing it Brother!
Have you seen my videos on how to hand strip copper wire? If you are stripping with a knife you should watch them. Thanks for watching ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-LquGF-xfbHU.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-jpDl3mhcxKU.html
Well, seems like you are paying too much for the raw materials, I see the date on this video, so it's been a year since you published it. But keep in mind the price on everything has soared as of today. Just seems like for what you do and the service you provide you should be making in the range of 40-50% before all expenses. No business is going to want to fool with this stuff when they can get paid today and get it out of their lot; that's pretty painless. Remember for contractor pay is high now when you can even find anybody to do the work.
Usually I more than double my money except with copper wire. No one that buys copper wire competitively makes 50% unless you are ripping people off. Usually you gain 1/3 by stripping it.
