R & D is a super expensive side with many risky variables. Govt should shoulder it because: 1) it will reduce the financial burden on domestic business(which will manufacture with ToT from DRDO) so there is no extra pressure towards corruption etc 2) Govt should establish economies of scale first so businesses will feel confident of investing in R & D too. Otherwise it's a waste of time, talent, nations resources. Time lost is more life's lost (at the border or in any conflicts) Strong weapons in a timely manner ensure peace and stability. Wars only usually happen when there is a weakness identified on the other side. Be strong in defence, world cannot go through another war scenario.

A 300mm rocket (vs a 214mm rocket) will not only carry more fuel, it will (or at least could) also carry a bigger warhead. A modular rocket should be developed where one could trade warhead size for range (or vice versa).

Striking Range should be higher in todays context, and DRDO is much serious than private companies, we need quick response by companies, but they are taking time to implement plans. It's better to let DRDO handle what they want to make alone and what in joint.

That’s how defense sector partnerships work, especially to develop the defense ecosystem. Indian private sector in defense will not become R&D leader overnight. We need to get out of the old thought patterns. If these partnerships are based on technical competency and are outcome driven, with PMO’s oversight this is a very healthy trend and will encourage initiative and new product development.

Ramjet principle should be used in Pinaka too in order to enhance range and speed. If a shell can be Ramjet proplled then why not Pinaka. Even handheld RPGs should be ramjet propelled. Using some gunpowder as fuel even the bullets in Anti-aircraft guns and Sniper guns should be Ramjet propelled for longer range, speed and armour-piercing capability

We must work on this 300mm/300km rocket...this might provide us a low-cost combat-sustainable missile for both land attack & with some changes also a naval anti-ship missile for smaller vessels like corvettes & OPVs PS - Subodh Ji...could you or any of the more experienced/qualified member please shed some light on tech differences between a 300mm/300km guided rocket & 300km range anti-ship naval strike missile...i understand some modifications might be required eg a booster stage for VL & an onboard radar/guidance...my query being, is it technically possible & most important the cost difference

From news it appears that ARDE itself has no expertise and neither other drdo agency will be helping ARDE. It seems a lot absurd to me that ARDE is seeking consultancy from private company.
