And with another big one on the horizon through the Minecraft 1.18 caves and cliffs update part 2, Skip the Tutorial decides to focus on the little tweaks and changes Mojang could make to improve the game. 7:05 Actually, Mojang added a new feature in the 21w37a snapshot that allows you to "shear" vines and stop their growth (the technical side is simply just setting the block's age to 25, this works on all vines types and kelp)

Something I'd like to see from jukeboxes is when you get close to them and they begin to play, any music in the background also gets quieter so the two songs don't close.

I designed an automatic random music player with redstone at my base. You can put in a playlist of disks and it has a 20 second cool down between each one. I also use music players as ride timers in my amusement park rides. I love em just the way they are.

I would have loved the idea of adding chained minecarts. The way they work is by pushing the chained minecart to a regular minecart and they work just like a train

What I really desperately want in Minecraft is a "wander" mechanic for cats and dogs. Right now either they follow you, or they sit motionless; it'd be neat to have a third version where they would wander freely in, say, a 32x32 square area around where you ordered them to "wander". That way you could have some ambience of a couple of cats exploring your structure.

4:05 an idea my friend and I thought of was " wither bone meal " basically if wither skeletons dropped their own wither bones, or something, then it could turn into wither bone meal that can grow nether wart and used on like " warped" nether rack to spread to other nether rack blocks like moss

That's a really good idea. Maybe the wither bone meal can also do the opposite of regular bone meal, and shrink plants instead of growing them.

I want to be able to enchant horse armor. It makes no sense that you can't. I wanna ride my Frostwalker and Thorns horse over the oceans! Or at least stop sinking into every stream we try to cross! Also, I would love to be able to apply wax to redstone. You can wax copper to keep it from oxidizing, let us waterproof our redstone with wax!

5:30 With this you can use a type of command Simply put § then a number/letter(different ones have different colors) then the text I use this everwhere on my worlds like signs and name tags and even naming chests!

Oh my god. Those enchantment book redesigns are GORGEOUS In Minecraft I’d love to see an implementation of “empty bookshelves”, something like the regular bookshelves except the player can use them to store enchanted books, regular books, and book and quills at their own desire. I think it’d make it a lot easier to sort through enchants, kinda like a mini library :D

I would say for chests, I think there should be a “base chest” that you must craft, Aka the normal chest that you can craft with many types of wood, then you can change the chest based off of wood.

The vine growth trick is coming with 1.18, but rather than flint and steel, it's being done with shears. Right clicking the tip of a constantly growing plant like glowberries, or vines with shears will stop it's growth. I think shears are the better call anyway, less likely to misclick and burn down your nice build. Source: the patch notes for the latest snapshot.

a good one for multiple enchantments are for fire aspect 1 put 1 fire partical on the book and fire aspect 2 put 2 fire particals on the book and same with all the other ones with multiple enchantments but change the effect depending on the enchantment

Idea: New chest varient for every wood type, but you can still craft a chest using different planks, it will just be the current chest texture, not an oak chest or anything like that (maybe called a "Wooden Chest", no specific wood type).

For the last one, about the smelting armor. I have a village I built, and I always buy the iron armor off the villager. Once it gets down to the red on its durability, I smelt it into a nugget, and just buy a whole new set of armor from the villagers. I get all my tools and weapons from the villagers as well. Which means that the 2 stacks of iron blocks I have, just sit and gather dust. Side note. No. I do not have an iron farm yet. Also, for the music disk one. There is a mod floating about one of the online communities that will allow you to make your own completely custom music disks. Whether you want the disk to play Hulkoff, or Sabaton, completely up to you. Or if you want to get that perfect 80s rock collection going in Minecraft.

In bedrock, you can change colors of sign text and anything else easy, just hold alt and press 0167 on pc. it gets you this character, §, and if you mix it with a number, say 4, you get colored text.

actually, i really like the idea, that you cant move dispensers, it looks a bit like cobblestone in redstone contraptions, and you can activate it, so a observer can detect, i want this or the dropper to stay the same

change the jukebox to a record player, keep it as is. make a new jukebox with an inventory that can only hold disks and will play the disks in the order you place them in the inventory. repeating from the beginning once it hits an empty spot. allows custom playlists by not putting certain disks at all or putting others in multiple times.

Idea: an iron golem with glowing eyes made when a jack-o'-lantern is used instead of a pumpkin, as you can already use the jack-o'-lantern to make an iron golem, so why not make a variant for that possibility

I keep forgetting that redoing the text on a sign without having to break it and replace it is not vanilla, because I play so many mods that have this as a thing I just...forget. Being able to just take cobblestone and run it through a stonecutter for sand would be simple and easy enough. Maybe _too_ cost effective though... .

The sign could be like the map. Editable until a glass pane is put across it. Instead of using redstone to put music discs in, the jukebox simply needs to have storage space like a small chest, where only discs can be put in. Then by clicking on the jukebox you should be able to change the play options from cycle, random, and repeat.

So does java not have the ability to load a jukebox with a hopper like bedrock does? Because I use a dropper into a hopper which is triggered by the emptying of the jukebox.

@@seeit360 In java, I don't usually use jukeboxes. But the point is they should be treated like mid-90's peak of audio perfection and be multi-disc changers with their own multiple slot inventories. Sorry if that doesn't answer your specific question. Have a nice day.

It could even have it's own villager profession with trades like wood blocks, so you can get types of wood not common to the area, shears, axes, sticks, leaf blocks, saplings, signs, doors. Basic trades. But the included mechanics of more efficient production of wood blocks would be huge.

Last suggestion. Small thing. Lanterns can be placed on top of a block. Lanterns can be 'hung' from under a block. Why can't signs? I should be able to place a sign under a block, and have the sign 'upside down'. That is, it should be a regular sign, but the stick it's on should be out the top, so the sign looks to be attached to the block above it.

7:57 You can hold down both to get in a glitched state, where the server and all players think youre gone, but youre still there. You can still for example punch people, and they take damage. If you activate your Elytra, you cant close it, and if you use a firework rocket, it never stops. Dropped Items dont actually drop. Im not sure anymore, but I think you cant interact with inventorys anymore. If you rejoin, youre back to normal. The stuff that you dropped is on the floor, and your position is where you logged off in the glitched state, meaning you can just activate the glitch, activate your elytra and firework, face upwards and wait till youre at y1000 or something.

@8:33 In addition to #21, I would love to see another type of jukebox that allows to record sounds in a nearby area onto an empty disc, or even while being carried (if you have to run along your note block path while it's playing). Then you can play that sound/music on demand, in the comfort of your house, without having to walk all the way back to your note block contraption to hear your tune again.

For the debug stick to be added to vanilla survival, you’d have to make it either mid-game or early-late game, depending on when you start enchanting, but you obviously shouldn’t be able to put it on just anything. I think it should be limited to sticks, tridents, and other tools, which might give us more use for the hoe. Like most other enchanted items, you would be able to find them (or the book) in chests, from the librarian, blacksmith, or Piglin trading, and maybe sometimes fishing. If it were to become a crafting recipe, I think it could be crafted by putting a stick in the middle box and then a iron/gold ingot/nugget in opposing corners, kind of like the fishing rod recipe. Maybe it could work with a honey bottle or slime ball on one end and the metal on the other?

Since most of the time in survival, enchanted books that are found in chests the enchantments are combined. In creative mode enchanted books are just have one enchantment for simplicity I guess,

They should make a new book texture for each new enchantment, but not if a book contains more than 1 enchantment; and also as an example: fire aspect 1 and fire aspect 2 should have the same texture otherwise you’ll get A LOT of textures. Just whenever a book gets contains more than 1 enchantment, it should be back to it’s original design

Hope shining pearl is gonna be good tho.. im actually doubting if it will be. The game trailers got like A LOT of hate and everyone says gamefreak was too lazy to make a good game for the third time in a row :( The remake of diamond and pearl could have been a masterpiece considering it’a one of the most popular pokemon games but the devs aren’t giving the remake enough love to make that dream true. Another example that gamefreak doesn’t care about it’s fans unfortunately :(

I feel like you are putting mojang a lil low here. They are constantly adding new features to Minecraft that everyone wants - Buttons, pressure plates, trap doors for all wood types ✅ - More wall variation ✅ - Wireless redstone✅ - increased world height✅ - water logging✅ - making it easier to get lightning only obtainable mobs✅ - nether update✅ - cave update✅ It is really annoying to see when people meme about mojang when they did all of this plus so much more :(

I think something else that should be considered is a search bar for chests so that if you have a hard time finding something in your chest but you know you have that item you can search it in you chest. There have been several times that I have had to go get an expensive item in minecraft because I looked over it in my chests so I think the search bar would be useful and would make the game a lot better

I had a simple fix for nuggets! U get “nuggets equal to the nuber if Ingots” used to make an item! So a chestplate requires 8 ingots… let it smelt for 8 nugs! Its still something better and it has an internal logic

I know how we could update renewing nether wart Regular skeletons drop regular bones, which can be converted into bone meal, which can speed up overworld crop growth. Bundles are 100% a joke. One full stack of any combination of items sounds nice, but then you realize that really important treasures like enchanted books have a max stack size of one. A bundle being filled with just one book is literally pointless. Or how about ender pearls, which have a max stack size of 16? Severely limits the utility of a bundle to have only 16 items in there.

For the terracotta and stained glass, it would be nice to - and just hear me out on this - wash the item with a bucket of water. Place a bucket of water in the middle of the crafting table and surround it with any dyed item like glass or glass panes or wool or...you get the idea. One easy recipe that could even be considered shapeless, as long as it's 8 of the same type of object and a bucket of water. Another idea: drop the item into either a crucible of water or flowing water. In the crucible, it could even use up some water like potions would. In the flowing water, it could take some time.

it may be redundant, but a fix for the chests could be a mixed wood variant. mixed wood could come in handy for wood items that are dependent on type. only the boat comes to mind, but it could be expanded to just straight up mixed wood decorative blocks. at a price, of course. maybe a 9 planks of different wood types could make 8 planks of mixed wood
