Ye but you could say that about any ram. It all fits in the same way. Still many variables and factors regarding case and Mobo. My attraction is that they can produce so many colours and effects, in a non RGB fan system, they add a nice ambient glow

I disagree. Intels alder lake is warm and power hungry if OC. As will any modern CPU with a high core count. When you say a decent fan is more than sufficient, don’t you mean one 1/2 the size of the motherboard board. Fans can cool as well as an AIO cooler, but the size difference are vast.

Yes absolutely, but if your editing in 4K and using multiple apps I’d even recommend 64GB. I bought 32 thinking it would be enough, but Adobe eats ram and 32GB is really the minimum for 4K

@@davidschauer8861 32GB will be more than enough for the games. In editing it will still do 4K, it will just be slower. If I had known what I know now, I’d probably have gone for 64.

Thanks for the comment, but it’s actually higher than the top of the rad, not by much, but it is. Fully aware of position, and best practice. Anyone who’s not sure should go watch GamersNexus video, and if you still don’t get it as it’s a difficult video to follow, JayzTwoCents makes it absolutely crystal clear. The reason it’s in the position it’s in, is because it does not fit in the top of the case without fouling. To flip it round in current position, would mean the water pipes would not fit around the GPU, leaving the only position it’s in. AIO manufactures should make the water pipes longer, then it could be fitted as best practice. The way it’s fitted can trap air when you first put it in, if it’s rattling or making a funny noise. Turn off and work the air out. That AIO is now in another system, and going strong with very low temps.

But yeah man I don’t know if it’s the camera angle but it looks lower than the pump but that’s probably just me with my horrible vision 😂 And yeah man I feel like manufactures should make the tubes longer to have more flexibility to place the AIO where the customer wishes too.

I’m new to PCs after always having consoles, so for now I’ll just leave things stock. Only built my first ever rig 5 months ago so just going to enjoy it for a while before tinkering with it! Pleased I made the leap though, I’m loving it.

Welcome aboard, I've bounced between consoles and pc's over the years, I moved back to pc's as the consoles started to try and become more of a pc based hardware. The gap between them is really narrowing especially with the new consoles due towards the end of this year. I really like how Microsoft has introduced the cross play between xbox and pc. I would have said there may not be much graphically between a 4K pc and console, but it seems Nvidia may have just set a new standard, have to see what AMD brings to the table, but overall everybody wins even the consoles.

Erm now your asking 😂, if my memory serves me correctly. You get rainbow 🌈 colours cycling as soon as you turn on the pc. It’s only when you have installed iCue that you can alter the settings.

What CPU do you have? Now I have it paired with my 5900x I just set the xmp profile, runs at 3600 and not had any issues. With my 1700x I had to set the memory speed manually, raise the ram voltage to 1.35v, and slightly up the SOC voltage to make it stable. But it was not happy above 3200mhz, apart from one holy grail boot where it ran at 3600mhz flawlessly, then never did it again.

Are you running the Corsair iCUE software? I would check if there are any firmware updates for the memory. Failing that I would remove one stick of ram, and test the memory. Then swap to the other. If you could identify a potentially bad stick. Then try that in both memory slots to eliminate a bad mobo. In fact when you have taken both sticks out,clean the memory slots and reseat the memory. Just do all the trouble shooting before you RMA.

Any DDR4 memory will work in any pc. Some memory is optimised for Intel or AMD. Also it depends on your motherboard if you would get 3600mhz or not as that speed is an overclock. In answer to your question, yes it would work. But getting the full 3600mhz I would do some further research first

@Marine3D 😂, nothing like that mate. When the kraken X62 is not in use, it’s like a bloody mirror. The mrs and daughter were helping to film, some of the angles made it appear that there head was in the AIO, it looked weird. I found it distracting watching it back, so decided to mask it out.

Looking at the specs of your Mobo they should work. If the AIO tubes are just resting on the memory it will be fine. If the tubes are really tight and its pressing really hard on the ram that's a no no, just common sense really. Regarding the ram, I would start with updating the bios, and the chipset firmware (google is your friend). I would then after everything is up to date, put one stick of ram in the pc and see if it boots, if it does, then try all the others. If it does not boot, still try all the others, your trying to eliminate a bad stick. If they all work, don't overclock the ram leave it at default, and put all 4 sticks. If it runs fine, then start upping the memory speed, hopefully it will run stable at the speed it is referenced for, but its not always a given. Keep trying different things, its just a process of elimination until you can find the cause of the problem

The amount of ram and the speed that you can use is dependent on the motherboard. If you tell me your motherboard model I may be able to help

Yes and No, depends on your system, and what resolution you game at. If your playing at 4K and editing 4K videos it’s a must. If you have a lot of applications open and your system is slowing as all the memory is taken, you need 32GB. If non of the above applies and you game and edit at 1080p then 16GB is enough. Not sure about the animating tbh

It should be, but memory timings can very between the different models of memory sticks so just check before you buy

Hi, You have to go in to your bios and enable the xmp profile for a memory overclock. This is different per motherboard vendor so just Google your mobo model and enabling memory O\C

It would really depend on the game, and if the menu is locked or not. Some games don't let you alt\tab, but if you could, the more memory you have, the more programs you can theoretically have simultaneously running, as long as your cpu can cope.

@@austinuribe461 Max supported speed 9700k 2666mhz. Beyond those speed’s it’s down to the motherboard. As long as the motherboard supports 3600mhz can’t see why it would not work. Although you may have better results with 3200mhz

When trying to work out if the ram will run at the speed it’s rated for you have to look at the specs of your motherboard. DDR4 is rated to run at 2400mhz, so anything over this speed is an over clock. How much it will OC above the standard speed is limited by the cpu and the motherboard. 3700x will run high memory speed, so its really down to what the motherboard will run. As you have not specified the exact motherboard model, I could not exactly say. But I expect it should run 3600mhz ram but I would always check the mobo specs first to avoid disappointment.

That's up to you? Its optimised for Ryzen, I am currently using it with my 1700x, and will be swapping it over to my 5900x when it arrives.

I think I replied to someone else not long ago about an Intel system. As long as the board takes DDR4 it will work. How ever, the mobo will depend if you can get the max speed of the memory, as anything over 2133mhz is an overclock. Check your mobo manual for max memory speed

@Nasty Boy, no in my pc when the pc is off the ram is off as well. Not sure if this is a feature you could turn on through the Corsair software?, but it being on would be pretty strange to be honest. [seems to stay on if the pc is put to sleep as the ram is still on holding data in memory] although who puts there pc to sleep???

@@princeofeurope3313 So to answer your question with a quick skim of that model. Fastest it takes is 2666MHZ. So the answer is No desktop ram as this video references and talks about will not fit in a laptop. No you can not upgrade to 3600Mhz as your laptop only takes 2666mhz DDR4

The memory will run on both as it is DDR4 Ram. The speed that you can get out of the memory is dependant on the CPU you are using and the motherboard. For example the default clock speed of DDR4 is 2400mhz. When you plug the memory into the motherboard it may have a slightly higher default speed than 2400mhz. But anything over the default is classed as an overclock. So to run the memory at 3600mhz the motherboard and cpu need to be capable of running the memory at that speed. If you have a ryzen 3000 series processor then you should not have to worry too much about the cpu, but I'd certainly check the specs of the motherboard so that you are not wasting money on a memory speed that you would be able to achieve.

Really depends on your mother board and the binning of your cpu. 3600mhz is an Over clock so although it’s possible, it may or may not work. Only one way to find out, give it a go.

I’ve watched Steve’s video and Jay’s video. Well aware of pump orientation. If the tubes were longer I’d put it the other way. Just for info it ran like that for 4 years, and is now in another pc running strong, still providing more than required cooling. As long as you get the air out it’s ok. Not ideal, but it’s ok.

it just looks wrong i am sorry i like to see the rad at the top as all my builds are all ways at the top and front for the gpu ....... but it did well to last 4 years :)
