Great review! Worth mentioning is that 330 brake HP is equivalent to around 280 wheel HP. Keep that in mind so it's an apples to apples comparison if you're contrasting this option with one of the Garrett turbos/MRX/Pumaspeed products. Video A might say "330HP" but it's bhp while video B might say "300HP" but it's whp which is actually more than 330bhp. Can be misleading to the unaware. Great review and nice product!!
Im looking to do the turbo upgrade now and cant see any good reason why not to choose the x47r over the 330r turbo. Its cheaper and produces more power?
@@ducky-o7ythe more power I feel like is more of a depending on which dyno you put it on, I had essentially everything that's in this car in the video + bigger injectors with a x48r and I don't know the exact power I was making, but my 100-200kmh was identical to a mk7 fiesta st with 320bhp, about 10.22 seconds. And then 7000km later the turbo exploded and I am now doing an engine rebuild because the old one was full of exploded turbo dust, it also lost oil pressure when the turbo exploded, so yeah. I wouldn't recommend the x48r.
Brilliant video mate! I’ve just gotten home after a long day and I’m pretty beat but after watching this you made me want to jump back into my ST and hoon it until I run out of petrol.
SCC in St Albens mapped my st-line a couple years ago! amazing company, picked my ST up yesterday, cant wait to have some spare cash and take it over there
Really nice video. A lot of effort in your editing which makes it easy to watch. Would be interested to know pricing and performance of the rt330? Also I imagine it has some serious rubber to put the power down correctly? :-)
Sam A Thanks mate! Best off speaking to the guys at SCC for pricing - a link to their online store is in the description. I know they’ll be able to fit the kit too if you are local 👍🏼
@@JBCTR Thanks - I checked it out and for just the wheels, brakes and the kit it's just over 4k but I suppose it's A lot of car still for the money. I had an ST before, similar to yourself, for 4 years and a kit like this would have made it really hard to part with for any car. Keep the content coming !
Well I have a mine tuned with peron, and I’m running the VT330R hybrid turbo and I’ve had no problems other than the occasional boost leak but I haven’t got the right clamp other than that completely fine. It’s not even forged. Reliable push 390bhp out of these blocks before forging
When you say, "it's so fast, you have no idea" so true, i believe you. I think my Stage 2 REVO 172HP 1.0 ECOBOOST MK7.5 is fast. So i can't imagine this, with about double the power.
Great video just randomly came across the video and was probs one of the most professional reviews I've seen from a young and smaller channel! loved it! defo subbing
hello JB, great review for this Pocket rocket, as you said it's really a joy to drive this car every day. in the video the wheels are team dynamics pro race? i like to install revo big brake kit and i'd like to know if they are suitable without spacers with these wheels….is it possible to know the size on this Fiesta? thank you and enjoy your mk8 ST.
Jack Brown This doesn’t answer your question, but this beat a stock Focus RS down Santa Pod the other weekend with a time of 12.3. See if you can find a drag time of the golf and it’ll give you an idea 👍🏼
Has anything been done to the engine internals to create this much of a power inctrease? I have a hard time believing that you can get a 133 HP (stock 197) increase JUST by tinkering with the induction system, exhaust and inter cooler. CHEERS!
ojars zvaigzne hybrid turbo, exhaust, decat, stage 3 intercooler, bigger boost pipes and intake. That’s the list I believe minus the actual map. Probably cost around 4K I believe
As above, this car has much more hardware than just an induction kit, exhaust and intercooler, but yes it’s still on stock internals as they are forged from the factory and therefore perfectly capable of dealing with this much power. 👍🏼
Matthias McCarthy Not long left then! Make sure you admire that turbo before it’s fitted as you can’t really see it in the engine bay. As you saw in the video, it’s quite a pretty thing :)
@@tomclayton9398 Lol yeah. All these ppl thinking their cars are the shit cause they can get good power. Yeah, for 10k miles before it explodes! I've seen more fucked ecoboosts than any other engine in my shop, and they have only been out a decade.
100% this will be dead before 50k miles. Ecoboost is the least reliable engine ford made due to how highly strung they are. Very nice. But it will blow before you know it. "Forged from the factory" Yeah, doesn't mean its invincible. Buy a new head in preparation for it exploding. I've seen more ecoboost need an engine rebuild than any other in all my years working on cars, and almost all of them are actually before 50k miles.... and thats stock ecoboosts.... Shes a beut. But turn it down/replace head with much better one or you might end up crying.
Nice video, I was giggling with you. I live 3 miles from St. Albans! I have an 18 month old Mk7 5 door Fiesta ST. Next May 2019 I need to make a decision whether to pay the rest of the PCP loan to keep the car. If I keep it, I would love this mod (without the bang bangs) but I wonder how much that all costs, what the insurance hike would be for me and how it affect the reliability, my car has been 100% reliable so far and I love it. I've been worried about the recent over heating, engine fires reported especially on the 1 Litre ecoboost engines. I also LOVE electric cars. I'm torn. Help!
goodchappy I’ve been quoted £4.5k including fitting, That’s for the rt330 turbo, the software, Airtec Stage 3 intercooler, revo’s air intake and the rest of the fittings. Only downside is revo don’t offer the stock turbo exchange. I’m currently running Mountune’s MR230 with the Mountune springs plus LSD which is great but for me, the rt330 turbo would be the icing on the cake. People say you can get cheaper turbos with the same figures but they’re cheap for a reason. All the features that come with the turbo including temperature protection which is key for me. I’m with greenlight insurance which is only £500 a year.
goodchappy I’m going to chance my arm on Black Friday and try get the airtec intercooler and revo intake a wee bit cheaper. Going to Falkland Performance Centre in Glenrothes, only an hour away from me. Heard nothing but good things about them plus they’re a revo dealership too. www.falkland.co.uk
Great review Jonny! I really like your videos and how you speak about cars and how you explain how things work and how the videos are edited. Your presentation skills are up there with my favourites car reviewers. Watched all your previous mk8 fiesta videos. You should really start borrow other cars and review them on a regular basis, if you have the time. Great work and looking forward to your next videos. Cheers!
You probably dont give a damn but does anybody know of a tool to get back into an instagram account?? I stupidly lost my login password. I love any help you can offer me!
@Kenzo Misael i really appreciate your reply. I found the site thru google and I'm in the hacking process atm. Seems to take a while so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
Your videos are really very professional and well structured, keeps you watching splitting it and talking about how something works then carrying on. Great video as usual.
Would be great to hear some customer experiences made with this kit in the future. I'm really surprised that nobody mentions the necessity to reinforce things like engine internals/transmission/clutch. I'm really intrigued as a owner of a Mk7 ST to get that much power out of it but how reliable is it really and does the car actually need more than 240-250hp?
I feel compelled to say your review style is brilliant, nicely edited and a very rounded and polished presentation, up there with the best automotive content on RU-vid. I look forward to more reviews, and the cars you can get your hands on. That ST must be bloody good fun trying to nail down them horses with such little weight.
Is there drone with exactly this milltek setup? I first thought I was going for exactly this setup. But it sounds a bit to loud in this video... Might have to go for resonated
Depends on what you want to use it for. If you are spending a lot of time on track, then the MK7 definitely. It's more raw and quicker with the RT330. The MK8 is way more refined and still super powerful. It's a great car for track days and a daily. As I've only got one car, it's the MK8 for me as it can hold its own on track and still have all the comfort to be used daily.
kona328WH Thanks :) No mention of costs as costs can change and also there is a choice of hardware. Labour rates are also variable if you require fitting too. If you are interested in the kit, check out the SCC online shop for pricing of the parts or contact your local Revo dealer for a fully fitted price 😁
so are you running the stock turbo or did you move up the ladder some?????with that bigger turbo. I know with Cobb stage lll and e-30 gas it will knock down 300 hp at the crank and 240 at the wheels 350 torque at the crankshaft 318 at the wheels
