334. Handheld metal detector, doing a review on three different units 

Awesome review Jim. Fair and thorough. Nothing wrong with Garrett for sure. Very respectable company. Charles Garrett gave me wonderful and gentlemanly advice when we began in 1999 and I will never forget his kindness towards us. I'm all for made in USA. To clarify the Lumber Wizard 5 does not have a vibration feature as Jim stated. It has sound, laser indicator and a headphone jack. Also Jim, when scanning for metal users should always scan in a cross hatch fashion as the orientation of metal can also affect the detection. In your videos you may have seen much different results had you scanned in a cross hatch manner. As far as our stated warranty it is one year from purchase. However, we rarely ask for dates of purchase. If a customer with any Lumber Wizard which has an issue we can't remedy by phone or email, we always offer to repair or replace under warranty, even if warranty is long passed.... They simply need to send us the unit that is not functioning. I handle and personally attend to anyone that has an issue with our products. We do not charge shipping for Lumber or Little Wizards...... We sell on Amazon and WizardDistribution.com. Thank you for your work, this is very interesting. I am left wondering how those units perform with a straight down sunken nail. For your test, nails were laying flat down, so you had much more metal area to detect, although it was laying further down relative to the detector. A sunken nail would provide a tiny metal area, but the tip would be much closer.

You forgot to take a moment to talk about shop safety.

Hey Jim another great unbiased test of equipment ! & You failed to point out that the Garret was cheaper than the wizard , So You proved that you can get a American made product cheaper than a Chi-com. Thanks for the interesting video Jim.
