Hi Scott Re: hearing the phone. I (unfortunately) have gotten old! Along with this sorry event my hearing has gone --- let's just say "down hill". I've discovered that generally with a high quality hearing (Miracle Ear) aid it will connect with your phone (especially iPhone) and your calls with come through the aids loud and clear without needing to hold the thing to your ear. REALLY GOOD!!! Also with the iPhone (i am not an apple fan by the way) the thing will actually read your text messages to you when you wearing the aids!!! TO COOL!!

Great story. You said that the rifle was softer shooting toward the end but forgot you told us she put over a pound of lead in the foreign. Of course it shot softer. I built a 338 Lappula Ackley improved on a Remington action and that is it into a McMillan 85 stock. It also uses a Herald muzzle brake Ken is a real pussycat to shoot. It weighs 15 pounds. Thank you for all your hard work. We all appreciate it. Take it easy on for Miss Vicky.

My Remington 700 sendero 300rum shoots real good. It usually shoots about half min and I think it can do better if I wasn’t flinching. I load it hot and you know when you touch it off. I get Berger 210’s to 3250fps and 225 over 3000fps.

You're very knowledgeable, Sir, and I had a question for you. I have a rifle in 308 that just won't shoot for me. I tried switching scopes, scope rings, scope bases, bedding the action, working up loads with multiple powder and bullet combinations, checking the torque on the action screws, and checking the crown (There is no crown damage I can see without magnification. I can see some marks with a borescope. They look like machining marks from when the barrel was cut). Can nearly microscopic marks on the crown cause a rifle to shoot poorly? I am thinking about just cutting my losses and selling the thing at this point.

Get rid of those swivel studs up front. That’s part of the problem, especially when you’re shooting off a rest. Secondly a bigger muzzle brake should help with recoil as well. Also open up that barrel channel some because it is bouncing off it but you just can’t see it when it does.

@@Sagittariustoo you will be happy with it, I looked for a very long time and didn’t see anything that really fit my criteria. the stukeys bench is insanely overpriced. the DOA bench just looks way too clunky and i didn’t want the seat attached. the cheaper stuff out there is way too flimsy for my large benchrest style guns and rests. i haven’t shot a ton off mine yet but im very happy with it so far. its heavy enough to be stable but not so heavy that its not manageable with one person set up. the legs are very large in diameter and each one adjusts so you can get the perfect height on uneven surfaces so that it doesn’t rock.

You have done your best to accommodate your somewhat misguided client with this build. No disrespect at all toward your client, but many shooters/hunters are getting victimized by the new long range hunting fad encouraged by equipment manufacturers, ammo makers, and gun writers. Anyone with a little experience and hunting ethics knows an off the shelf sporting rifle capable of 1 MOA out to 400 yards will serve the hunter better than a 17 pound half target half hunting rifle that can shoot quarter MOA. I wonder how many gut shot animals or ones with their noses, jaws, legs blown off out at long range because of atmospheric conditions not noticed between the game animal and the shooter this new fad will produce. I talked to a young hunter that shot an Elk at 800 yards. He had all the necessary gear and phone app for elevation. He could only measure the wind where he was of course but 800 yards can have all sorts of different wind speeds and directions. His buddy was his spotter and neither could tell where the first shot landed. Luckily it missed the animal altogether. He did connect with a lethal shot by accident on his second shot. He said he is done with that kind of hunting.

Quality control since the pandemic have gone to he$$! Plus, quality control will only test a few pieces in a run. Unless they are testing every piece this will happen. So, it can happen at Peterson. Plus, when ur busy like this industry has been, your rushing to get product out and ur employees can just say screw it and fill orders. One other thing these big gun might preform better at longer distances. Did you test the option of a stock to make sure it will shoot the way you say? If not, you could open ur self to more headaches.
