For the first time in nearly 54 years, 34095 "Brentor" could be seen in operation once again, as 34053 "Sir Keith Park" masqueraded as its scrapped classmate.
34095 was built by British Railways in October 1949, to the Southern design. After being rebuilt in 1961, the locomotive would remain in service until the end of steam on the Southern region, being withdrawn from 70D Eastleigh shed on the 9th of July 1967. Less than a year later, in April 1968, 34095 fell victim to the cutters torch at Cashmore's Scrapyard, Newport.
The "Brentor" nameplates are under the ownership of Mr Phill Brentor. As part of the celebrations for a wedding in the Brentor family, 34053 "Sir Keith Park" would carry the identity of 34095 "Brentor" over the weekend of the 26th & 27th of June, while the wedding took place in the local area.
The Bulleid light pacific would share duties with resident Class 31 - 31430 to carry out the services for the day. On both days of the weekend, the pair would make 5 standard return trips over the railway, from Tunbridge Wells West to Eridge, with additional dining services being undertaken only on the Saturday.
