Brendan calls on Ste to help him get discharged from the hospital, but back at home, Walker is waiting for him. DOWNLOAD: www.mediafire.c... / emmettscanlan
"You'll always be my problem." - Ste Aww, that was the most romantic, unromantic line ever. It can totally go both ways. But I'm so glad Ste is helping Bren out. It shows that deep down, aside from the baggage, Ste does love Brendan, even if platonically.
I agree it seems to be true for a lot of people that the more psychotic Brendan is the more they love him. I'm not among those people. I find Brendan more sympathetic at the moment because he's down and suffering and wants to defend the people whom Walker is threatening to harm. It's Brendan's desire to do good that appeals to me. And all the obstacles in the way of his doing good make it a great story.
Heard it like 8 times now. He definitely says, "You'll always BE my problem." I take it to mean a couple things: 1. Ste will always have to deal with the big ol' chunk of his heart that Brendan carved out of him. 2. Brendan will always be a part of Ste's life in some way, shape or form. But yeah, he definitely said 'always be.'
This make me feel torn...I like Doug and I like Doug and Ste together, but Brendan is being so irresistibly endearing and caring. Maybe they could share Ste. Just kidding
yea I know that is why he wanted to be around Ste to keep him safe. Ste just didn't want to owe Brendan anything but i think Brendan should just tell him hes in danger. yea, i think Brendan does realize Ste is better off without him even though he loves him. Doug is too busy being jealous sadly to enjoy most of it.
"I've had a bad week" LOL. D'aaaw: "You're always front of the queue Steven, you know that." "In the bedroom..." LMAO. Too much adorable! Ugh... Walker just STOP. But hahaha! Yeah Ste's shirt is hideous. Brendan takes your sass and throws it right back, "I mean you literally wanted your man didn't you?" and "Talk about taking one for the team." BURN! Then evil Walker... he made Bren cry again because he told him about Lynsey *sobbing* Ste: "You'll always be my problem." ALL MY STENDAN FEELS!
Ste saying in a sexy and deep voice, "You'll always be my problem!", had me squealing and howling with excitement. When Bren was being psycho, I could not have been more anti-SteDan but now, I want them back! I should also acknowledge that Doug is insanely insecure but he is a sweetie and he has grown so much. I would hate to see him hurt but, SteDan is destiny!
yeah i know what u mean, their relationship is just so organic, they really play well off each other with the slightiest little things that know one else notices with each other.i don't know can't explain it .
I love Walker. I so desperately want him to get his revenge. I'm sick and tired of Brendan thinking he can get away with threatening and hurting and killing people around him and everyone being okay with it. Also Ste is a huge idiot for (1)bringing Brendan home and (2)not telling Doug about it. Doug could do way better.
Yep , that's the problem. His first instinct was to take Brendan home and take care of him and he wasn't thinking of Doug at all in that moment. That says something about both relationships. Noah had the right idea--the only way to get Brendan out of Ste's life is to get away from him. As long as he'll always be Ste's problem, he'll always be a problem for whoever Ste is with. Friends with your ex is fine if your current has no problem with it, but when they clearly do, you have to prioritize.
Even if Ste isn't still in love with Brendan, he does love him as evidenced by how quickly he came running when Brendan called, and by him going to the hospital to tell Brendan himself about the engagement. It will always be a problem for Ste and Doug as long as they are in the same place as Brendan. Brendan is never going to let go and Ste doesn't seem like he can either. The relationship in a way is like the Amy/Ste one except Amy and Ste share kids, so they can't cut the cord.
you guys must tired of my comments but I have to say when Ste was like asking him whats up, I just love their moments. he knows him too well, kind of like lecturing him and asking questions. I see why Brendan loves him so much, only person that knows him, the good and the bad (apart for the laters lol) but that he knows his personality if you know what I mean.
same here! there is something as you say so 'organic' about how they are. you can see Ste can just be his self and same for Brendan. he's not afraid to hurt his feelings lol either, just like a couple that been together a long time.
There is nothing platonic or romantic about Ste's inability to let go of Bren. He suffers from "battered spouse syndrome". Bren is a violent sociopath that preys on weak men, e.g. Macca, Ste, etc.... Bren has tried many times to manipulateand break up both Doug & Ste. This is just his latest attempt to do it again. Bren doesn't like to lose. People should want the villain to get his due, instead of hoping for his redemption. Bren is not worth redeeming.
No you are right. Ste absolutely, definitely says, "You'll always BE my problem". I've listened to it like 10 times and everyone is using it as the new tagline of the Stendan ship on Tumblr.
no one is trying to turn the character into what they want, they had always given an explanation for his decisions, its twisted but he does have good intentions and the fact that he is a messed up character trying to do good is what makes ppl sympathize with him and in aspects can relate. it isn't a matter a credit but only preference that this character is just friggin interesting.
The doctor said Brendan needs a confirmed caretaker before he can be checked out of the hospital so early. Brendan is calling Ste to do him the favor of being his "caretaker" so he can leave the hospital. He needs to be out to stop Walker's vendetta.
You give Bren to much credit. He is a violent sociopath. His motivation is to reclaim Ste not protect him. Bren could told Ste he was in danger from Walker, when he offered Ste money to go to the U.S. Bren's actions are as always self-serving. Bren is incapable of true love, he mugged his sister, beat up Macca & Ste, murdered several people, cut up a body and killed his grandmum. He is a villain nothing more despite viewer wanting to turn him into a modern anti-hero.
Brendan's only killed one person since he's been on the show. ONE. Danny Houston, who, by the way, ALSO threatened Steven. Who has he threatened? Amy, but we all know he doesn't hurt women, just intimidates them. Rae, because she outted him to his son, and Silas is the one who killed her...Lindsey? Um, Dr. Evil Face killed her. Mick? That one's on Joel.... Brendan's a manipulator and wannabe gangster. Not a cold blooded killer.
yea true, nothing is wrong if he wants to help Brendan but its clear Doug has a problem with it but also Doug making his insecurities getting in the way makes it harder for Ste to just be upfront without him getting jealous and upset. He should have called Doug first but it does say something about their relationship .
"he does love him as evidenced by" -Evidence can be interpreted in more than one way. If someone texts you "Help!," coming to their aid doesn't necessarily mean you love them, and it certainly doesn't mean you don't.
It's quite amazing how so many viewers here assume that Doug is still in love with Brendan. I find it as obvious an the difference between night and day that Ste is not in love with Brendan. Ste is doing the obvious, decent thing in the immediate circumstances. If he's smart and if this were real life instead of a soap, Ste would next call social services or find someone Brendan can pay to take care of him until he recovers.
What more whoopass does Brendan need to get? Faced his painful past and confronted (Okay, killed) the woman who let it happen to him. *check* Lost Cheryl, his baby sister, because she finally saw him for who he is. *check* Lost Steven. *check* betrayed by someone he thought was a friend. *check* Nearly lost his life in an explosion. *check* I think that's enough to make him turn a corner.
okay okay okay okay, Brendan in the wheelchair...Ste helping him out...am i the only one sensing a Rear Window theme here? and now Ste brought Brendan into the house with him and Doug...story is just going to write itself from here.
I meant instead of saying "viewers ... assume... Doug is still in love with Brendan," I should have said "viewers ... assume... Ste is still in love with Brendan."
I agree with your point #2. I disagree with #1. Instead, the lingering but fortunately diminishing problem Ste has (imo) is with the damage Bren did to him.
"You'll always be my problem." ACK! My heart!! She is bursting! Freakin' Walker is one sick puppy. Bren's "I'm gonna kill you," was spooky, but I knew Walker's "I'm already dead" response was coming. And that was smart of Brendan, to text Ste before he knocked himself over. Manipulating still, but for a good reason - to protect Ste from Walker! How many tears can Emmett Scanlan dredge up on cue? My goodness he breaks so prettily. *sigh*
Have you not been paying attention to the last few weeks? Bren's been on a redemptive arc for a while now. He's long since laid off the stalking Ste or manipulating him. Their interactions have lacked that menace for a while now. Then last week on Later, the whole stuff with Joel, Walker, and Cheryl seeing the sick freak side of him? AND coming face to face with his past and actually admitting it? He's changing, he's growing - finally. His motivation here is to protect Steven, end of.
