Trying to make sure your fiance believes you aren't madly in love with your ex-boyfriend while at the same time trying to still help said ex-boyfriend any way you can, even by illegal means ... come on, something isn't adding up. I love how at 1:29 he looks both so relieved but also super concerned because he knows that as long as he keeps seeing Brendan, Doug will be jealous, but he also can't stop helping Brendan out because ...?!

Steven is so good for Brendan! The feelings, and emotions between them is so real, I can see that Steven feels the pain Brendan is in, he also knows how hard it is for Brendan to ask for help, even from him. Steven would never want anything to happen to Brendan. Also that look on Steven face at 1:28-1:29, is priceless. Doug is so stupid, because he knows Brendan! He know Brendan can be a psycho, but he is so blinded by jealousy, he is not stopping to think about who he is try to screw with.
The chemistry between Kieron and Emmett is amazing. Seeing Ste with Doug and then Brendan, makes it so obvious who Ste should be with. Making Stendan fans wait it great because when they inevitably get back together it is going to be epic!! We might literally see fireworks!

Absolutely brilliant episode. I think Ste is, in a certain way, enjoying Brendan being weakened and not putting on this big false bravado. Brendan is being open and honest in ways. It's already a shock that he told Ste he needed a gun. He was about to try and get it on his own, so this just shows him trying. Loving it so far. Doug is just a plain creep. I don't say that because I "love Stendan", but because he's just a possessive weirdo.
Ste won't look Doug in the eye while they were arguing about Brendan, which is a bad sign. I understand why Ste wanted to tell Brendan himself and why he went to see him in the hospital. And it's not just because he still loves him, they have a history, Brendan was a very big part of shaping who Ste is. And Ste was paying respect to that, there were good as well as bad times. And Ste knew how Brendan would take it, so he wanted to be the one to tell him.
Yes Ste is 23 now. And When you truly, honestly, love someone, even if the relationship ends, it is not so easy to forget. Yes Ste moved on, but it wasn't because he really wanted Doug, it was to forget Brendan, and the hold, that Brendan had over him, Doug was a means to an end, he was never Steven's first choice. Ste and Brendan have unfinished business between them, and until they are resolved! they would never leave each other alone. Love is not a switch, it can't be turned on and off.
I have to say as well, Doug motive for helping Walker, you guys may say he doesn't know Walker full intention but Doug's motive is driven by the fact he wants Brendan out of the picture thus his blindness. His insecurities are hindering his relationship and is making Ste go out of his way to lie.
I think he just doesn't want to hurt her. His father didn't abuse her in any way, so she loves him. Plus I think Brendan knows Cheryl wouldn't believe him at this point... and I don't think he could cope with that.
When Brendan said he was going to kill Walker, I'm surprised that Walker didn't say something about Brendan can't, being in the wheelchair, -like: "But ya AAH Brendan, ya AAH in that chair!"

Those two back together after all that's happened would be disgusting on every level & the end of Ste's respectability. Brendan is a monster & his relationships have been abominable. Maybe one day he'll become a better person, and if so, I hope he finds someone he can be happy with. But that person cannot be Ste or anyone else Brendan has abused. I sincerely hope the writers understand this..

But yeah Ste's still in love with Brendan, just those looks they share says it all. But I do think that Ste loves both men and is torn.
oh me lord this storyline is so addictive, it's the only thing i've ever been addicted to in my life, well apart from food. but i need some kind of meeting or rehab because i really can't stop watching.:)
they both so transparent......Ste and Brendan....you see how they trying to fight their emotions..their feelings....it's painful to watch.....they both know they can't and shouldn't be together....and they both know why.....but they can't just change and erase all the feelings and deep emotions ....It's brilliant and very sad love story....
Brendan's father left his mother to be with Cheryl's mom. I'm guessing BB and Chez are about four-five years apart in age, so Brendan's parents probably divorced when he was around four and then Cheryl was born a year later. This is just guess work based on the clues I've gathered. Brendan was probably raised without seeing his real mother much. Probably led to more emotional trauma for our Bren: losing his mom from his life and having to live with his monster father. Dunno if she's still alive.
I did express my thanks to both of them. I am not disrespecting Anthony. I watch other shows Anthony upload. Residentevilwolves was saying that people on Anthony's channel is hating on Brendan. So my point is that I rarely watch Brendan and Ste storyline on his channel and I did not know that they were hating on Brendan on his channel but I am sure Residentevilwolves appreciate they hard work also.
I think PJ is a briliant actor. I think his best performances were the Sylas story, Christmas episode and his coming out storylines. So I do think it's understandable for Doug an inexperience 20 year old to get confused about his 1st (real) love's attention.
Presumably Walker or any cop would have enough sense to know that not only would Ste not help, he'd probably warn Brendan. It's a small village and like Leanne said, 'everybody knows he's the love of your life'. Doug would realize that.
It interesting how in a weird way Brendan & Reid had some similar qualities. Both were/are cocky, very witty & funny, confident, didn't suffer fools gladly & didn't have the best social skills. They were, however much they tried to deny it, capable of love. Complicated. Of course their professions were very different, LOL. But I thought Luke & Reid had real chemistry & wanted them together...but then the Stupid Train came.
Doug is going to loose Steven either his jelouse possesivness or Steven being in danger because Doug helping Simon. Simon is insane If i were Brendan i would tell Steven to stay away from Simon and ask him to round up Cherel ,and Brendan's kids and go hide out someplace safe at least till Simon has been caught by the police. this is if the cops in Hollyoaks didnt suck at thier jobs .
That's right. Drinking age in England is 18, so at 19 Ste was old enough to be a bartender. Yeah it's a bit of an age gap. I think Brendan was 30 when he first appeared on the show. Declan's age doesn't make much sense, but I think it's that rapid aging thing that they do with kids on soaps to accelerate the story.
I was under the impression that Brendan did live with his dad, Cheryl and his step-mom. Because when he told Ste the story about how his dad would wake him up in the middle of the night to fight with him, I imagined he was a teenager. Because BB said one night didn't sleep and waited for his dad and then he beat up his father to "take the power back". I don't think his father would fist fight a little kid. But I could be wrong.

So I know everyone's opinion matters and so on. I swear Doug is just ruining his own relationship. I am not picking up for Ste for lying to him but when you are back into a corner you have no choice but to sadly sometimes. On a better note, did you see the way Steven was looking at Brendan? And even the way Brendan looked back at him? Especially, when Steven knelled at his feet to tie his shoe lace, my my gosh! My his heart melted with love! Brendan Brady so love Steven Hay! And dim ass Doug senses that Steven still loves Brendan, and that is why he is insecure, and trying to destroy Brendan. Finally. Nice to see a positive comment about Doug. Poor Doug he is being taken for a mug by Walker not knowing what his real motives are. I don't blame him at all. When a cop tells u he can help u would u not take it. Ste is no angel either. So it's Ste own fault for lying to Doug, getting involved in dodgy Brendan business, etc. Stendan are not ready yet either. I just want to enjoy more cuteness more Stug until then.
Even if Emmett is leaving, it is not anytime soon, that for sure. His fan base is too large, his ratings are too high, and his character is too important for the show. There is nobody else, who could be Brendan Brady, but Emmett. Doug reminds me of Noah, his insecurities, and obsession with Brendan, allowed Brendan to break up his relationship with Steven, That's what's happening now with Doug.
yea i found that interesting too that he just told him like that, he seems really tired. i know things he has done and it his fault apart from we know the truth now but I feel so bad for him, he seems tired.
Oh! I subscribe to Anthony at first when I starting watching Brendan and Ste storyline. But I stumble onto Emmettscalanfan channel and realized that he uploads Brendan and Ste storyline a day or two ahead of Anthony's channel. Don't worry about those haters. We know Brendan makes the show.
I liked it so much when Ste & Doug were just friends, when Doug was straight-it just seemed sweet that the Gay Guy & the Straight Guy could go into business & have a good friendship. It seems they had more chemistry then, & Doug seemed more likeable 2 me (although I didn't know his iffy past). Now that they are together, there always seems to be tension, hissy fits,Doug has no backbone,& is so insecure. Their relationship now lacks the trust & kindness of before they got together.

Hmmm then it's confusing why Bren was so upset about his dad leaving his mom... I'm looking back at the time he told Rae about his family life to convince her to keep the baby. Wouldn't he want that asshole out of his life? I guess it could still make sense if his dad had custody on weekends and holidays.
I was just going by Emmett's real age at the time he started on HO. I know that Cheryl's character is 29 (right now) as she said in HO Later that she is "still in her twenties" and I read an article that said her character was 29. And from the look of the child version of them Brendan looked about 7 or 8 and Cheryl looked 4, so by that I guessed that Brendan is currently 33. I'm not 100% positive about anything.
Thanks for clarifying. I'm also wondering what happened to his mom. Seems like the divorce was traumatic for him, because if you watch that scene with Rae, where he briefly speaks about it, he looks really upset. And I don't blame him if his mom was nice and he had to live with his abuser/molester dad without her. Then he tells the story about how he and his wife lost their first child, which is why he wanted Rae to keep the baby. Wow... he's so damaged T.T
Ste and Doug lying to each other, hiding and holding secrets..bad signs for for couple who want to get married ....very bad....and just look how Ste looks at Brendan ...he still loves him...and can't let him go ..so does Brendan can't forget Ste...i know they are not right for each other for many reasons...but my heart bleeding for them .....
