In September 2024 three of us (myself, David Eardley (Fellman Dave) and Ewan Ker (Cronus) attempted to do as much of the Tour Du Mont Blanc as we could in a few days holiday. Although we crossed France, Italy and Switzerland it was not without it's weather challenges as September brought frequent and prolonged rain. All in all, we covered about 7 stages, 120km and 7000m of ascent. Although I never intended to make a full vlog, here's how it went in a diary nutshell. That was epic Andy. Stunning stunning alps but with a really Scottish weather vibe. Looked really arduous but with lots of stunning distractions. Climbed there 30 years ago ......brought back the memories. Your photos were absolutely stunning, and yet as you know, the camera seldom does the scene real justice no matter the camera or the photographrr so it must have been mind blowing in real time"being there!!!". Tremendous.

Well, I enjoyed that tremendously! You did a lot more filming than I thought. Liked the last few days whistle stop too. Though I dont remember the weather being that bad! Thanks guys, memories for a lifetime. What says it all, is Andy, back at home looking pretty buff there!

Such dramatic views. The big international trip: yes you can say we must be stoic, make our own fun, and be adaptable - but wind and rain can just demolish plans. Thx for posting.

Hi Jim, at its worst it was worse than Scotland ( but couldn't film for fear of busting my phone ) but when the sun was out some of those views made it all worthwhile. I need to go back and finish some stages in Switzerland if you fancy a long weekend next summer 🌞 ?!

Well done great effort. We just finished the TMB yesterday and it is incredibly difficult. The constant long ascents and descents are brutal. We managed to do it in 6 1/2 days with a mixture of camping, hostiles winter rooms in refuggios and even hotels. The climb over the ladders were much longer than we thought abd the final descent in was knee shattering. Some scrambling and pretty technical bits thrown in. Exhausting but wow the scenery, people both locals and those also travelling make it worth every ounce of effort.

Yes easyJet cancelled my direct flight and I had to book alternatives. Frankfurt is a huge mare of an airport to transfer in...never again 🤣

@@AndrewParkOutdoors yeah went through that at the euros. Don’t ever fancy doing that again if I can help it. I had it in my head Geneva would be the best place to fly too. It’s one of them, we think about it for years and then maybe finally get it done
