I am in this region and know some of the players, they’re awesome people but half of them don’t recall betting on anything. ESIC is like “If you want to appeal you have to pay $500” and that’s it. It’s hella suss!
You get the $500 back if you can provide evidence proving your innocence. It makes it so you can't just appeal and waste their time in acquiring the same outcome.
@@timmortier5318 who knows what is behind ESIC, and priority make it more expensive because its not high tier CS. Unless u spread this sht on twitter and the world recognize u
@@greedisbad9890 i dont think riot intends to partner with the ESIC for riot sancioned tournaments. based on previo events i believe theyd prefer to rely on their own protocols.
@@greedisbad9890 nah, they like to do thing based around themselves with esport. just like LoL and LoR, they keep thing in their own company and never bring third party outside of sponsor
@@NationDixon Its not the anti cheat. My dude, did you even SEE the video? Its about professional players betting on matches they played in, and betting in favor of teams they were playing against, which may mean matchfixing. This LITERALLY has nothing to do with the anticheat, please watch the fucking video before commenting next timw
I gotta apologise, just read more on Morrison in detail. Getting stuck with an evangelical climate denier is hell. I send my condolenses for the loss of life and the inevitably trashed economy decent politicians + economists will be blamed for. Best of luck in 2022.
Sadly, Australia is just America with bigger spiders. we're 2 sides to the same coin, hopefully you can get your evengelical climate denier out like we did before its too late
@@Mingcs dont like getting into politics here on youtube but i can assure u that the liberal party has given us the biggest economic decline in australia. (source: gdp)
The betting doesn’t surprise me, but the stream sniping part was insane. Idk if it’s common knowledge, but it never occurred to me before. I feel that especially now with players playing at home it might have become such a big issue, but idk.
Difference is IPB stickers looked cool, Ska, Brax, Nitro and Hiko who were all on the team at various points are literal legends and even though they aren't really legends, Steel AZK and Dazed were in the top 10 players in NA at the time of banning. In comparrison, here we have 35 Aussie no names.
@@ihateoskarnikpl1829 People get no cheaters at all because of trust factor. They played the game long enough and rarely got reported, so they were put into matches with people also like that. That still doesn't stop the fact that if you crate a new account, every match will have a hacker in it. BUT, what I just said is completely pointless because there ARE cheaters in every elo of CSGO. Hell, there's even cheaters in lvl 10 Faceit, which has a better anticheat than vanilla CSGO. There's countless videos of people hacking in CSGO on RU-vid, even at Global Elite. Hell, Steam has people STREAMING themselves cheating and they don't get insta banned. Dogshit company.
Big teams and names can just get away with things because they can't mass ban the top teams all at once even though most of them were exposed for stream sniping during major tournaments. Good to see them put the hammer down a little tho
Esports tiers need to be separated more clearly and officially. That way these lower tier teams can bet on the grand finals between the #1 and #2 teams in the world. They likely don't have insider info, they are just more experienced players than the average ones. Would also make it easier for new fans to know which teams are the best, how big a match up will be, etc.
8:40 about stream sniping. Stream sniping is not just about finding where enemy players are but also, with watching the stream you can also see who usually plays where or enemy economy and etc. you can gather a lot of information even with delays just by calculating urself afterwards.
I personally know about 15 of the people who got banned, I know for a fact at least 5 of them didn't bet on ANYTHING while they were playing. ESIC handed out bans if you were playing MDL or Open one season and then bet the next season even if you weren't playing because they thought players were still playing.
See, those podcast people say about the Football betting etc. Here in the UK, Football players aren't allowed to bet on Football matches. Players have been both fined and banned for doing it.
So Mibr lost their prize money and got fined for “stream sniping” but when Vitality does this they only get a fine. Maybe I getting the facts wrong here, but this seems pretty parcial
I wouldn't mind if they bet on their own team as that might make them more motivated to win or betting on t1 teams such as astralis and na'vi, but betting against yourself that's basically what IBP did
The thing is the players dont even need to be the ones doing the betting. They can just telling their friends or family to do the betting and throw matches.
i get why its bad to bet on your own games no matter what but i feel like theres a HUGE difference in betting ON your own team vs AGAINST your own team.
“Nobody likes cheaters” especially in esports. Tell that to the competitive Pokémon community. It’s a den of liars, cheaters, hackers and unsportsmanlike conduct. Out in the open as well.
@@flux_time its actually really cool, it may sound weird but it's actually really strategic at the higher levels, they mainly use 2v2 battles so there are a lot more options them 1v1 battles and tournaments and such are held officially and 3rd party, the website smogon university is a really good website for it, they simulate different games and rulesets so you can play on the website against other people, don't be so immature, because an 8-year-old would not be able to compete in top-level competitive pokemon unless it was an age division or they were some kind of insane prodigy
Wow, the ESIC was right about the stream-sniping. I understood the coaching bans, but when I heard about the stream-sniping, I just couldn't believe them.
Subscriber count is slowly going up, but the views are not. It's the most common mistake we see from big companies: saturate your own market, then proceed to watch people lose interest.
Look I get that it feels weird with how disconnected these players were from what they were betting on, but this type of thing gets out of hand really fast if left unchecked and the only way to make sure that it doesn't get to that point is to draw a hard line. It sucks for those players, but unless they weren't aware of the rules before they did it then its hard to defend them.
Everyone in Australia knows how fucking crook our sports betting is. E-sports gambling not being any different is entirely unsurprising. Still pretty shameful though. Not the blow up i wanted to see for our scene.
A bunch of them would be matchfixing bans too, imagine them streamsniping each other to make sure their team is in the perfect position to throw and make it look convincing.
yo I just realised, if you’re in like the grand finals of an esport, couldn’t you just bet against you’re team but still play as normal, therefore if you win you get the contract pay for winning the grand final as a player but if you lose you still make some money at least.
The punishment on some Australian players was too harsh for the reasons mentioned on HLTV confirmed, and the punishment on Vitality was WAAAAY too light. End of story.
According to HLTV confirmed, this banning of no name Australian players is akin to banning no name Australian football players. No significance compared to the coaching scandal. Also run by Australians who are well-versed only in Australian law.
What is dumb is that ESIC banned a lot of players who actually had nothing to do with betting but they may have been associated with a player that did which meant that they had to ban innocent people to make sure all the people who bet got banned. sad.
I get players betting is a really murky topic, but I personally feel if your betting on your team to win I don’t see what’s the harm, like it’s more motivation to try hard
This is quite interesting to hear. Does that mean a fair number of newcomers will be entering the scene to fill in the openings? Or will some fresh teams come in and shake things up?
2nd time I have heard this lawyer and I'm like thats gotta be a South African accent. Looked him on linkedin and its true! Absolute legend taking names on the other side
