Cynthia's 'other' house is not actually her house. It is a villa in the Unova Region that belongs to Caitlin of the Johto Frontier Brains and Unova Elite Four. She just uses it during the summer.
Fun Fact: Caitlyn and Lorelei are the Only two Elite four Members with vistable houses, and in both cases they aren't in their first appearance (Caitlyn first appeared in Gen 4 and Lorelei's house in FrLg's Sevii Islands)
This is weird, but since I'm here, I'll mention it Diantha is the only champion to have her team tie into her lore directly, sorta Her team; Hawlucha: action movies Tyrantrum and Auroras: Historic and Sci-fi movies, interchangeably Gourgeist: Horror movies Goodra: Fantasy Gardevoir: Romance They represent the most common movie genres cause shes an actor, thats kinda neat
Her team is also the best balanced team as each member has a different highest stat. Hawlucha - speed Tyrantrum- attack Auroras - HP Gourgeist - Defence Goodra - Sp defence Mega gardevoir - Sp attack
EJ The Mad Aside from Gourgeist and maybe Aurorus, Diantha's team is actually pretty solid. It's just that EXP Share made it so you would most likely end up with a team that is 10+ levels higher than hers or something.
If we gave her team Hawlucha; Unburden, Sitrus berry, Close combat, acrobatics, knock off and poison jab Tyrantrum; Rocky head, dragon dance, dragon claw and head smash Gourgeist needs leech seed Gardevoir hyper voice instead of moonblast She would so much more challenging
@@Hrishi52xis As someone that had a glimmora through the adventure with the ability to set up toxic spikes, I strongly considered making it learn the move since there were times where I wanted to set the spikes but the opponent used special moves. Also, because they stack twice, there were moves where I wanted to put both and wouldn't be possible only with the ability. Like the other pokemon being slower but oneshoting, thus only hitting glimmora once, or when after one hit I needed to change
@@Kronos327 that’s her gym team in White In the sequels, it has Rock Slide, Flamethrower, and Focus Blast which are all boosted by Sheer Force. In Challenge Mode, it loses Rock Slide and Flamethrower for Fire Punch and Thunderpunch
So Iris’s Hydreigon is actually a legitimately catchable Pokémon (and by proxy Ghetsis too). In X and Y on Victory Road in the Outside Far East section, there are shaking spots where you can encounter Fearow, Skarmory, and Hydreigon all under level 64
as far as i am aware Geeta and Alder are not the only champions to not use starters or psuedos. Champion Wallace also does not use a pseudo or starter.
For geeta how about the fact that she’s considered undefeated but in order to get the champion rank you have to defeat her, so your rival nimona, a champion rank created a paradox where she defeated the undefeated champion and geeta remains undefeated
Was Geeta ever considered undefeated? I thought the whole thing was that she was considered the best among Champion Ranked Trainers in Paldea, implying there's at least one other Champion Ranked trainer (Nemona)
Looking up her quotes there is that whole thing of her being unable to hold back in battles followed by "Maybe that’s why nobody’s passed this test recently", but that's not saying she's undefeated, just that she's been on a win streak recently
You forgot to mention that Iris ISN'T FROM UNOVA! In one of Drayden's Memory flashes, we see him crowning Iris the champion and saying something like ‘You were special, so I brought you from the Village of Dragons to Unova’. This suggests that The Village of Dragons, that has been confirmed to be her hometown in the anime, isn't in Unova at all. Further, she mentions that she has read some of Sinnoh Mythology before which stated that Pokémon spring from the grasses to say thank you to trainers who had been bonding with their Pokémon and she wants others to know this Mythology too. Could it ... Could it be ... That she's from SINNOH? Or the Village of Dragons is quite close to Sinnoh or atleast has its Mythologies tying with the Sinnoh Region? To support this point further, Grandma Wilma, who teaches you Draco Meteor in Platinum, is also, as from what she says, seemingly from the same village (especially when Iris teaches your Pokémon Draco Meteor in Black and White, so perhaps even this move originates from the Village of Dragons?). To convolute this already weird hypothesis while leaving it here, I want to add another point you missed; Cynthia in Platinum mentions “My house? Even the Region is a Secret!” The Champions definitely become champion of regions they aren't supposed to!
You can’t really count Blue when he’s from the debut generation so there’s not much of a choice to only use gen 1 Pokémon, and in FRLG he uses Heracross and Tyranitar in his post game rematch team unlike Alder who still uses gen 5 Pokémon in the E4 rematch. For Lance, he’s a gen 2 champion, not Gen 1
4:35 I actually didn't learn that Lisia was Wallace's cousin... well Until a few months ago... I also knew about Lance having illegal pokemon (He also has an underleveled Dragonite), but I didn't know that they actually had a Barrier Dragonite Event in Gen 6... Also I'm suprised you didn't mention that there's special dialogue if you do the double with Steven in the Delta Episode using the event Shiny Metagross referencing Allain and the Mega Evolution Special (And there's also dialogue if you have that Metagross in your party while getting his gift Beldum... Iirc it's something like PS: How is my other Beldum Doing?)
Same. Cynthia has a fairly balanced team, so I was prepared. I had a response to battle every member of her team. Lance, however ? My Meganium wasn’t ready for his team, lol.
I'm pretty sure the Villa in Resort Area belongs to Steven, not Cynthia. When you take over that mansion, the NPC that gives it to you will tell you it was originally for some rich guy from Hoenn to dig for rare stones. So that obviously isn't from Cynthia. Well I bet you already knew this, just got it wrong to bait my comment. COmments are good for the RU-vid algorithm after all.
4:04 It's cool though. Being a specialist of something doesn't mean you can only do that thing, so even though he is very experienced in Steel types he recognizes that a team only consisting in Steel types would have a huge weakness. And to be fair, even though he doesn't only use Steel types, the rest are either Rock or Ground, which keep the fosil enthusiast theming that he has.
3:41-3:47 A little nit-picky, but I don't think it's mentioned Mossdeep is his home town (at least on the Bulbapedia page the subsection for "Steven's Home" under Mossdeep City phrases in a way that suggests he has property there but it doesn't quite translate to Mossdeep being his hometown, where hometown usually meaning the town you're raised in.) I know off hand in Emerald after the multi-battle fight with Maxie and Tabetha, Steven asks the playing character to drop by his home, and he quickly adds that he lives in Mossdeep not Rustburo. It's not definitive proof, but there's something to be said that other people might associate him with Rustburo rather than Mossdeep. Though how much that's associated because he's Mr. Stone's son and how much it's because that might be his hometown proper, I'm not sure... 4:33 - I thought Lisia was Wallace's niece? Overall wonderful video, love all the little bits of trivia.
@@aglowkeys ngl, straight up forgot she used a milotic, that's my bad. However, the rest of her team is gen 4, garchomp, lucario, and spiritomb are all new pokemon, and togekiss/roserade are new evolutions, so you can see how i missed that.
Maybe the suviner was talking about a champion in the sense of a champion who protected the region long ago, you know a hero rather then a pokemon champion.
I forgot Diantha even existed. I would've said that was a gen 6 Gym Leader if you hadn't clarified. Weird. I remember the rest of them, even the newer ones.
Actually hes not. You can also see on the movie, Pokemon Origins that there is no champion in Kanto. Blue defeated the Elite 4, which Lance was part of, and became a champion.
@@kkrstudios Origins isn’t canon to the games. The message at the start of the game says challenge the Pokémon league, nothing about becoming the first Champion. And we know there are previous Champions of Kanto and Johto to Lance, cause Kakaui speaks of emulating Kanto’s league from when he was younger. Lance was made Champion again when Red declined the responsibility and Blue decided not to take the mantle when Red didn’t. It makes no sense for their not to be a Champion of Kanto/Johto at that one random time. But is before and after.
I guess there's a weird discrepancy here because of this, but doesn't Lance address that there wasn't anyone sitting in the Champion position until Blue beat him just a while before you got there?
Mike Clark Which heavily implies that there was no Champion prior to Blue. Unless they literally just threw out one of the Elite Four moments before you challenged them to fit Lance in.
I am using Opera GX. It works great for the most part. However, lately there have been some glitches with connection where the browser fails to load any page. This is not my personal connection either (which I thought at first), because when I opened sites with chrome it worked fine. This has only happened twice so far, and for short moments (no longer then an hour), and I've used it for over 4 years at least. The rest of the time it works great. But just FYI: if internet seems to fail with Opera GX, test other browsers to see if it really is your connection or if Opera GX did a derp.
Alder speaking old Japanese and being constantly referred to as old, along with his portraits in the rooms of Diamond and Pearl Clans on Legends Arceus makes me think he's travelled in time from the olden days to modern Unova, swapping places with Ingo??
It’s due to Geeta being called the “High Champion” that is making everyone believe she is the region’s “Champion”. Nemona is more your Friend/Rival and may be covered in a Rival video.
Alder is also based on Native American culture! Fitting as Unova is based on the New York area of America, making it likely he's based around a tribe of the Iroquois Confederacy.
Maybe in next future if pokemon games...Ash will be the main last challenger who will face the new pokemon trainer.......since in the anime Ash won the world pokemon championship title....

PROBABLY Fun Fact about Paldean "champion": 1. Geeta probably knew most gym leaders doesn't like her, that why she send YOU for work to check them. 2. Nemona probably challenged E4 and defeated her not long time before you came to this place - still little weird why she was waiting for you for final battle at Mesagoza after defeat E4 & Geeta, right? 3. She probably caught Glimmora at Area Zero - catch attention, she might doesn't like talking about herself, that why she kept secret about catching one pkmn at Area Zero. Never was telling to everyone about this place. 4. She lost on purpose just let you have fun with Nemona, that why she might proposed to Nemona to fight with you because she knew herself she's not good trainer to battle with you for fun. 5. Worried about Larry, doesn't want he's faint from overworking. Still yet requested him about change his team for specific types - normal to flying, but she said he would use any type for E4, so she might suspected that he has another more specific types. Also i have suspect he could probably have another one, third type - Fairy Type. Why? Because most of normal types were changed to this type!
I think it's because most pokemon fans joined the franchise during gen 4 , at least the Western ones, and as kids whi don't know any type matchups, they got rekt by cynthia and thus hace bias towards her. Same can be said for as to why many people think gen4 was peak, personal bias and nostalgia
No. I also think she sucks, both as a character and in terms of design. I mean, all of the gym leaders and Elite Four members hate her because of her mistreatment of them. Especially Larry. The poor guy looks so tired that he's constantly pissed off, and I feel so sorry that he, like everyone else, was basically forced to work for that weakling of a champion. She is utterly unworthy of being called a champion, and Nemona is a better champion than she'd ever be. Diantha would flatten her team with just Hawlucha. Trace would struggle, but even that joke of a rival would thrash her.
Geeta is Paldea’s Top Champion. Nemona, however, is merely a Champion. La Primera’s strategy is… _interesting,_ though not very effective. Your rival, meanwhile, is _all kinds of_ *_super effective_* in _every_ battle! Um… _why_ exactly has Nemona not dethroned Geeta like a Tinkaton bringing a Corviknight outta the sky? 🫤
