Quick video after initial Osiris tune.
The rev limiter being hit in the middle is from when I switched maps to the Fuel Economy map which has a limiter at 4500RPM. I then switched it back to my Performance map and gave it another rev.
Enjoy!
MODS TO DATE:
JWT Popcharger
MREV2
5/16 Spacer
Stillen HFCs
Stillen True Dual Exhaust
Uprev Osiris (initial tune...still need my first eTune)

nice! thanks for the input! the way i understood it is that from the factory the engine coolant flows through the throttle body to prevent tb from freezing in the cold. when you turn valve off the hot coolant no longer flows through the tb making even colder intake temps

Sound-wise, it's subtle. At WOT, it doesn't sound as reigned in - it's louder and a little more aggressive. A welcome change in my books.

@salchipapa8000 Definitely real HP and TQ gains - actually about the same as advertised on the Motordyne website for the MREV2 and Spacer. I uploaded a dyno video a good while back, as well as one for the eventual dyno tune so you could check those. As far as gas mileage, that improved initially, but only because it leaned out the air/fuel ratio. After the tune, gas mileage went down, but that's to be expected.

@Dani01c I'm not sure if it's possible, but I don't see why it would be necessary. The way Uprev works is by sending you the software, a cable, and an estimated tune based on the list of mods on your car. So when you all of that and the new tune installed, all you have to do is hook it up to your car, do two 0-60 runs, a highway run, and then email them the recorded data. Two weeks later, they send you back a new tune and you just install it yourself. It's really easy. No need to mail the ECU.

@srsairbags Nope. The 07+ models had the HR engine. This is a 2006 6MT, so it has the RevUp version of the DE engine.

Sounds great. Did you get your rev limiter raised with the reflash?

Nice. About what I expected. Have you tried switching the maps around to see if the economy tune makes a difference?
@oNAGAo
@oNAGAo 15 лет назад
Just checked it. It's pretty much what I said . However, they have the added benefit of not having a character count limit like I do here on RU-vid, though :)

The regular isothermal one does come with the ccv, but honestly... I would just go with the Copper Isothermal (which I did...). You get the additional horsepower and torque from it being isothermal, and you don't have to mess with it at all. Of the two isothermal ones, it's the easiest to maintain - as in, you don't have to do anything at all. Install it and forget about it. The other one requires you to mess with the valve every now and then, and I just wouldn't bother. Just my 2 cents.

I haven't had it long enough to really test it out. Basically, the economy map has a different target air/fuel ratio and a lower rev limit. I'm assuming it'll make a difference, but I haven't tried it yet, to be honest.

Sort of. Legally, your warranty isn't void unless the dealership can prove that your modification caused the damage/failure. To avoid any issues, though, it's possible to uninstall the Osiris maps from the ECU and return it to a stock configuration if something goes wrong and the dealership needs to hook up a computer to the ECU. So, if you ask the dealership, they'll say yes. They won't want to touch it if they know you have an ECU mod. Technically, though, my car runs more reliably with it.

Check out Motordyne Engineering. They make the MREV2 and the 5/16" Isothermal Spacer I have on here. For the gains, check out my other video where I got it on the dyno. The gains were very noticeable, and nominally big as well. I don't have the HR engine, but I do have the DE RevUp engine (300hp). Did that answer your question?
@oNAGAo
@oNAGAo 15 лет назад
Actually, I don't think they sell anything but the MREV2 (they don't sell just an MREV). It's designed for all VQ35DE engines (both RevUp and Non-RevUp). The thing is, though, in order to see any gains with the addition of a spacer, the RevUp NEEDS the MREV2. Kinda sucks. Physically, the MREV2 is a non-RevUp lower collector with some small modifications, which sort of explains this ^^^. So yeah, in short, the MREV2 is meant for both types, but it's necessary for the RevUp if you want a spacer.

haha true. yeah I have an 05 and mine is the non rev so i have learned i would benefit more from just the 5/16 spacer. I think im gonna order that motordyne 5/16 isothermal one tonight. im trying to figure out if it comes with the ccv though

Sounds good dude. I read the caption after I heard the idle sound like it was on theft deterrent. You know, number 5. Hope you are running leaner. My limiter is set to 6500.

go to my350z forums and go to top 100 questions. i think i remember it explaing it in depth

@oNAGAo 15 лет назад
I did, but only very briefly, so it's probably not that accurate. It made about a 2mpg difference in the short little test I did. Not really conclusive.
@oNAGAo
@oNAGAo 15 лет назад
Okay, did a check on the highway at about 70mph... I was getting about 29mpg.
@oNAGAo
@oNAGAo 15 лет назад
Thanks! I did - just to 7250, though. As great as it might sound to hit 8000... I'd rather not do that to my car :)

what is the mrev2? how much is it and did it do alot? also did you notice any difference with the plenum spacer? do u have the high rev or non rev?
@Speedaholics
@Speedaholics 8 лет назад
the MREV2 is most useful for the DE rev-up, correct?
@ambientflier
@ambientflier 15 лет назад
What kind of difference does the economy map make? Or does it just limit the rpm without doing anything to the power curve?
@oNAGAo
@oNAGAo 15 лет назад
Well, I was running lean to begin with - you probably mean richer. From what the Cipher is telling me, it's looking MUCH better. (11-14) I still need to get my first eTune. Why'd you set your limiter so low?
@ambientflier
@ambientflier 15 лет назад
You could always trade for an HR :P 8000 seems good for them.
@HACAFPV
@HACAFPV 15 лет назад
yeah kinda. if im not mistaken the mrev or the mrev2 one is designed for the rev up and one is designed for the non rev right?
@oNAGAo
@oNAGAo 15 лет назад
Yep, sure did. Check out my other videos, if you're interested; one of the latest is a montage for the tuning visit.

did you notice any real HP gains ? did you gain any MPG's ?

oNAGAo How is the Stillen Exhaust?
@oNAGAo
@oNAGAo 10 лет назад
I've since moved on to the Motordyne TDX, but the Stillen is a fine exhaust. It has a great sound, particularly if you only intend to make minor modifications to your car. Once you add more exhaust modifications into the mix such as headers, high flow cats, or straight pipes, the nature of the Stillen exhaust is such that it will lead to some pretty intense rasp. You might be able to check some of my later videos and see what I'm referring to, as the bad rasp was one of the reasons I ended up parting ways with it. From what I've seen, there's really no way of getting around it. But my brother, who is now the proud owner of my old Stillen exhaust, is one of those whose only other modification is a cold air intake, and he's absolutely loving it. He gets compliments on the sound of his car all the time.

oNAGAo So If I go with a popcharger, stillen hi-flow cats, and a stillen exhaust? Should be good?
@oNAGAo
@oNAGAo 10 лет назад
Kelvin Tso It should still be good. I had the exact same setup, and I rather liked it. It will add a small measure of metallic rasp in the low 3000's of the rev range, so it won't sound quite as "proper" or "refined" as it would without the HFCs. But it will sound a bit more throaty and aggressive. That's the best way I can describe it. Maybe check out some of my other, older videos to get a better idea of what I mean - the videos obviously don't capture it entirely, but they should give you enough of a sense to make a sound decision (pun intended).
