When I say this car is rough...boy-o-boy,,,she's rough as a Cobb! In my continuing attempting to resurrect this rust bucket I begin A-pillar fab and replacement...and then I have a problem.! Check it out.
Thanks for sharing Larry .I love the taste of rusty metal in the morning. I’m heading out to get at it. I haven’t forgotten about you, talk soon -Spanky
Man I thought my 62 C10 project was rusty! You have got some work to do!!! Thinking things thru seems to take us more time than the actual work, but it matters a BUNCH in the end!
Agree 100% .....what got me in this position is that it started out as a $100 car. Well for some crazy reason I thought I could turn it around on the cheap. My plan is to pull it back into "project potential" if all goes well....I sell it off and use the proceeds to buy 34 patch metal....that one ill build for me eventually. Thanks for dropping by.
I don't have a 36 to look at, but that driver side looks correct to me. I'd say it's pretty safe to assume that is is, given that the passenger side has been modified. Of course assuming is never good, but it just looks correct to me. It'll be nice to get your hands on those new doors, that'll certainly help.
Not knowing where you are located, if you're anywhere near Bowling Green, KY. area,, you are welcome to come and inspect my '36 3W coupe's door & A pillar. There is a pocket that the hinge fits into and some extra room I recall, as I would up inserting a shim into the pillar, behind the hinge to get the door fitment I wanted. I'll see if there would be any point in taking pics of the hinge and if so, will let you know.
Appreciate that Bob! I'd love to drop by...but I'm never near. I did come up to BG back in 2015 and bought a frame jig/table off a fellow that was building a 30 sumptim Bantam....But forgot his name...impressive shop at the time...cnc and other equipment...first class diy er.
Yeah ------ I think it would be tuff ---- not having at least a door to look at ----- and hopefully ---- it would have the hinges on it ------ I do think you are right ------ like the driver's door ---- there is a pocket to the ----- inside ----- for the hinge to slip through and be bolted down ------- Since the right side has been repaired sometime in the past ------ and if you don't have a door ------ and the driver's door is untouched as in a repair ------ get the measurements off that side for the hinge spacing and depth of pocket for hinge to slide in -------Hope you are not in this Heat Belt that we seem to be having ----------- Thank You for the Video ----- And Have a Good Week ----------- Rodney
Thanks Rodney.... I've got a set of doors I need to retrieve from my father in Illinois in August. It'll be tricky but I'm hopeful to get these parts roughed out now....and close....then finalize with the doors in Sept.
