Nissan 370z DIY at home Automatic Transmission Fluid change. Step by Step video on how to change your 370z Automatic Transmission Fluid at home. this was my first time ever and not a hard job to do but takes time to do. Nissan 370Z transmission fluid changes are exceptionally critical to keep your vehicle's transmission cool and lubricated. If you don't routinely and always change your fluids at least each 30,000 miles or so, you may find that your Nissan 370Z transmission will quickly slip.

Car needs to be running while checking the fluid. Transmission has to be at 140 degrees Fahrenheit. Dropping the fill bolt on a cold transmission will not check how much your transmission fluid needs.

Great video bro, thanks for sharing. Glad to see your Z shifts normal now how it should. My 2011 370z has 50k miles on it and she gets some new transmission oil next week 🤙🏼

nice vid , Do you need to apply a sealer or gasket on the tranny pan before reinstallation?

Yes, you can inspect your gasket if it needs replacement. In this video, I did not change the gasket. But I have a new video on my channel changing the transmission speed sensor. I did change my gasket and the filter. Filter was so dirty even with new ATF

Thanks for the video. I see some people recommend that after changing the fluid that you let the car run to warm up the trans fluid and then drain again. I think it's because theres more fluid in the cooler etc. What are your thoughts on that? Oh and what about the filter?

I never heard of that. Maybe that's true, maybe not. But, I didn't do it. I just changed the oil and cleaned the pan and magnets. That's a waste of trans oil, and believe me. It's expensive oil, lol. Filter is optional to replace it or not depending on how bad it is. I've never seen a bad trans oil filter bc it's made of metal and always clean.

Thanks for your response. As far as the filter, I was referring to cleaning it not replacing it. You're right about the transmission fluid price. I think on Z1 it's almost 10 bucks a bottle.

@kellyweb you are welcome. Yes, filter cleaning is recommended bc it's a piece of metal and a net. There is nothing complicated about it. It is easy to clean and doesn't need to change unless it was damaged somehow. Yeah, dude, $10 a bottle from Z1 + tax/shipping. We are talking about $80 bc you will need 6qrts to change it. Yeah, I don't recommend warming up the trans after fluid change and changing it again 😆
