Early start out of Auckland, circa 6:20am. Weather outlook a bit dodgy but had to go. All good. Made way to Thames then Coromandel for breakfast. Met an interesting cafe owner/worker who had ridden from the UK to Dubai via Iran. Great gravel then on the 309 to the East Coast, then the Coroglen Tapu road - which is one of my favourites. All up a great trip. The gravel was muddy. A bit loose on the front at times, but all good. Home by circa 2pm, after buying some cat food ;-).
The #supertenere went great as always. Totally planted. A good mini #motorcycleadventure , not really an #advrider , but some good fun. #motorcycletrip to #coromandel always very very scenic.
Funny #cardo story for a future video. Embarrassing.

Bit of a grey wet day through the gravel!! Stunning scenery though.

Thanks for that. Probably helped keep the traffic low, which is good on those roads ;-)

Nice variation on the traditional loop. Careful with the front brake!!😉

Thanks Stephen. Definitely easy on the front brake. The surface didn’t seem tooo bad. No obvious clay patches which you get on some. A bit more predictably loose ;-)

Classic. And one of the most amazing places I’ve visited. Not in this vid, because this is the Coromandel- but presume you mean the previous one where I went to Marakopa and Kawhia. Thanks for that. Actually, I was back in Kawhia yesterday.

Good to see someone else who doesn't think they'll melt in the rain on their bike.

Haha. The rain seems to clear the roads from other vehicles too - which is great on some of those roads. It’s why I like riding Coromandel gravel in Winter. Summer must be a nightmare

What fun! Doing a clay road in the rain 😂 How many times did you have to put your feet down 😂 Stunning but.

Thank you very much for that. Ha ha. I kept my feet up. Maybe once out for some balance but the Super Tenere soo heavy I’d just be letting it go and jumping off ;-)

Very cool videos. Question i have is how do you get your audio of talking in your helmet to the go pro?
@motogusnz
@motogusnz Год назад
Greetings David. Thanks for you comment ;-). My helmet audio involves the following bits of kit: 1. A Ulandi GoPro case that holds the GoPro and 2. the GoPro Audio Adapter. 3 It needs the trrs to trs audio plug converter. And then 4. A lavalier microphone with a furry cat on the end. I might do a little vid on my set up. But I do have an old GoPro Hero 5 I think. The latest might be a bit different. You can search lots of Motovlogging setups. I do have an expensive mic which I think helps.

Bridgestone Battlax Adventurecross AX41. About to move to my 4th set, I think. Previously Continental TKC70s and 80s on my GS. The AX41 gives up a ‘little’ on gravel but feels better (compared to the TKC80) on road cornering and braking (way better). To me, anyway.
