I always feel so welcome at your camp. I like the way you talk to the audience as though we're there with you and we're hanging out and we're just friends. It's not like you're doing a classroom instruction. I also love your filming and editing. Great job. I'm happy that you just went to the camp to enjoy nature and the weather and that you didn't have to do any work
We enjoy that you seem to have found music that fits your channel so well Jay. It brings a great consistency to your vlogs and what you are trying to create here. So many creators don’t grasp that. It does not surprise me that you do. Incredible photography and editing as usual. So good.
This guy is wholesome it’s just that simple…he’s doing what he loves and sharing it with us not for revenue but because we genuinely enjoy it for some reason It’s like watching someone genuinely experience life when we are all back at our office Jobs thinking we are comfortable with our hamster wheel lives…we don’t know what living really is…
Awesome video Jay. Your dinner looked amazing and so did your breakfast. Love watching your videos. My husband and I live in the bush with only wood heat. Once the fire goes low it doesn't take long for the cold to start creeping in and we have insulation in our walls!!We live in a fifth wheel trailer with a log addition on the front side.We are 45 minutes from civilization so even though we have more than a tent, we still have to be well prepared in those deep minus temps.Other than satellite internet and phone, we have no services either. I couldn't imagine living any other way. Thanks for sharing your camping trip with us. Stay safe and warm. :)
I'd love to hear your story and how you managed to do this. From Canada here, kind regards to you and Happy New Year. Your lifestyle sounds wonderful, to be able to live in the countryside as you do, and to understand how to be prepared for an emergency including deep minus temps.
After a certain point cold is just cold. I camped in -27 for the first time last feb in northern Ontario and it was exhausting and amazing, and challenging, and beautiful, and so so peaceful. Thank you for sharing and all you do, you awesome Canadian man!
Jay, that area that got frost bite...take care for the rest of the winter. When i was a kid, I almost lost my whole cheek to frostbite. Next winter you will be OK. Once flesh sees frostbite, can refreeze very easy.
You are one crazy Canadian I would never in my life cook out in Minus 35゚C. I guess you just have to love it which I see you do. God bless you. Love your videos keep them coming you're just crack me up And have a very happy New Year.. From Ohio USA
You're heating water to make coffee in -35 degrees. Great video. I forgot to say in my basement rec room in Wisconsin it's about 68 degrees and I'm drinking an ice cold beer. By the time the video is over I'll have to get another. Take care.
Another great video Jay! I can tell just by the way you talk that you really enjoy your time out there, no matter the temperature. And you eat like a king too! The minute I saw the Balderson cheese 🧀 my mouth started to water. That’s one of my favourite foods ever is really old cheese. My mum used to bring home 7 year old cheese from a dairy in Ottawa when she’d go there to visit my granny. Finding joy in the simple things is a skill not many people have and you do it with ease. Can’t wait for the next one! Stay safe out there!
I love watching your videos...I'm 61 yrs old and have always loved the winter season however, I don't think I'd like it that cold...interesting to watch for sure and I love the cooking parts too ❤
Vaseline for frostbite. That is what we used on those cold Quebec -25 snowmobiling trips. Again, great videos! On a side note, is Alan Gofenko(YK) still around in YK? Miss his snowmobiling videos too....
Only Jay Legere can make a day/ night at -39°C seem cozy. So soothing to watch! Maybe because everyone can relate to a man doing his favorite activity on his own, no distractions, and feeling good doing it. Minus the frostbyte ofc 😆 Hope you didn't scar your face, I never knew that frostbyte on the skin was permanent
Greetings from Turkey. excellent video, as always! Thank you! What i like most about your videos are the eating parts. oh my goodness, i can feel the density of taste you experience. so sincere! cold + hunger + well-deserved handmade warm food = so satisfying to watch. Cheers!!!
I live in SC. I have lived in the SE USA all my life except for one year in MA. I will never understand, at my old age, why anyone stays in such bitter cold. But obviously many love it. Thanks for the video.
Lol...I thought I was the only one who got emotional over trees, 😭 favourite blocks of wood 🪵 and plants. It kills me seeing a live tree 🌳 cut down. What I love about the bushcraft series is you guys only take down dead trees and use them for firewood. I know my plants 🪴 will seed and regrow, but...hate to see them die. (Am sure my family think I'm as nutty as a frutcake). I look forward to your adventures Jay, and that tent and stove is awesome and cosy looking in snow ❄ and cold. So excited for a 2022 of watching all my bushcraft shows. Missing Posa, Monty and Rueger and AB and Brucie too. In fact, I enjoy everyone who does these shows. That fish looks delish. So long last we had fresh fish. Have a Bells whiskey and enjoy the adventures. 😃 😊.
What yummy food you had! Glad you are getting a website together that you like and that you found a solution for your snowmobile! Saying a prayer that your skin heals perfectly and you get a pass on any frostbite residual. 👍🏻👍🏻
Jay! Another awesome video! Wow, extra crunchy cold! Man, I’m very happy your camera equipment performs so well in that cold! Amazing scenes and shots! Love it! Ty 😊
As I am watching your video it’s a pleasant -16 outside. I was able to take my dog for a good walk today. Finally a break from the extreme cold. It will be back but still nice to get a little break . Great video as always. Thanks for sharing . 🙂.
What another brilliant video!!!! I have watched a few other people videos like this but most of them don’t talk. I like to hear what your doing and when you give tips ❤️❤️❤️. Definitely the best channel 😊
I’m never quick to subscribe to a new channel until I watch enough episodes for them to justify me doing so. I must say, I’ve only watched two episodes of yours since I found you and am now subscribing! I love your content and attitude very much! Look forward to seeing more!
That cast iron pan will be a great addition to the cookware and it will last forever if you take care of it. That salmon looked amazing too. Nice to hear that you can keep warm and cozy in those crazy cold temperatures with minimal stove tending. Also looks like the pile of snow is doing its job keeping the propane tank 'warm'. All cylinders firing at the tent. Happy New Year to everyone out there watching Jay make it happen. Best of everything in 2022.
Great video 👍😊 Jay. This morning in Ontario was balmy -30°C compared to -55 that's crazy cold. Thanks Jay. Neoprene balaclava will protect your face. Stay safe and warm.
Always look forward to your weekend camping trips. Unreal how cold that is and that you brave the trip out there in that. Watching you take it up a notch and cook on the outdoor pit in those temps was just great! Dedication and pure happiness right there. I love cooking out on my weber charcoal grills and smoker year round here in Central NY and will cook even in -5 -10 Fahrenheit but that's balmy compared to what you're cooking in. The channels growing, your content is fantastic, your doing what you love and it shows. I'm sure I speak for all of us here, we appreciate you bringing us along for these trips. Much respect Jay and as always, look forward to your next video!👍🍻
Thanks for a great video, I came across your channel in a recommendation from RU-vid and watched your latest videos, and they are relaxing for me aside from entertaining. It is allowing me to live on distant places without leaving comfort of my home and I thank you for it, I enjoy your channel and keep up the great work
I have been subscribed for 2 years maybe more I'm not I don't remember but I live in Texas where we very rarely get snow so I like watching you and what you cook even though I don't eat pork. I can't even imagine the cold it's in the 40s here and I'm cold lol you keep doing what you do I enjoy watching you.
Today was the first time I saw a Videos like this and I saw a few of your videos and I saw a couple other videos and I’ll tell you you are the best at this tent and outside coldness because some people are just so rough on their camping or outdoor living you are the best I wish I can be like that
Great video Jay....you eat well!!! I live in the Adirondack Mts of NY and watching your videos makes me appreciate the forest more than ever. You do it right and I even bought a winter tent and wood stove because of you !!!!! Love your channel
I could almost feel the cold coming through my screen watching this video. That stove gets me every time. The crackle, I could go to sleep to that sound so easy. Another fantastic one Jay. Thank you so much for sharing. Have you thought of putting out a trail cam while you are there and seeing what wildlife comes around?
Pot of snow on the stove as soon as you light the fire. The value of warm, then hot water can’t be underestimated. A warm facecloth and a warm towel is wonderful. A towel warming / drying rack near the stove is a close second to warm water.
That’s some frosty weather up there Jay. Love the crunching of the snow under foot, that’s when u know it’s freakin cold. Couple of tips for ya. First, cover your Yamaha with a tarp or cover. It’s makes a huge difference in cold weather. Mine is always covered at my Cabin when I’m up there. Second, get one of those heat powered Stove fans that u can put on top of your Woodstove. It will make a huge difference in circulation of heat at your Tent. Great video as usual. Be safe and keep up the great work on the Channel.
Brrr…the sound of crunchy snow and when your nostrils stick together..you know it’s cold Nice meals, a cup of coffee and a wood stove ..sounds relaxing and cozy Great video, take care, stay warm and wear a balaclava 🇨🇦 ❤️
Hello from Oklahoma US! A) can’t get enough of you and your videos, just amazing and well done. B) can’t get enough of that music you use, such a relaxing sound. Keep it up, I doubt anyone out there doesn’t want more of this :) thanks Jay!
Jay - get yourself a nice canvas firewood carrying bag. There are lots of them on Amazon for around $20-30. It would make your trips in and out of the tent easier, keep your tent cleaner and protect your wool sweaters from all those splinters. Thanks for the great videos.
Love your videos!! Our part of the country has been in a drought the last few years but this year we got dumped on big time!! Maybe less forest fires this coming summer. Extreme weather camping is so interesting if you can keep safe, which you seem to have planned it out well. thanks for bringing us along!!!
I look forward to seeing the progress on the new spot this winter. You've come along way since the dirt floor and red table. You should make a little insulated pad to pull the front of your snowmobile on beside your tent at night. Also run a higher octane, if you're not already, and prime the fuel pump 3 or 4 times before cranking it over.
Yes, we did hear the phrase "UP to minus 37" issuing from your lips. I won't complain about being cold ever again. Breakfast looked incredible. Great vid!
Hey Jay love your videos ! -38 here today in Québec! I suggest you put bigger log in the fire before sleep it will burn way longer that way... Stay safe and continue the great work we are enjoying it here !
Hay jay. Just checking your winter hot tent. Wow it is just smashing. The whole atmosphere is out of this world. Keep up the good work. God bless you..... Look after yourself & stay safe from those wolves.....
Jay, I have the same frozen cheek discoloration. Went out for a snow machine ride on the Chena river in Fairbanks at -25F….should have known better. That was 20+ years ago. The reminder will be with me forever. Good times in the cold nonetheless.
So love watching your videos Jay 😊 we never ever get those temperatures or amounts of snow in the UK 🥶. I always end up feeling hungry as well, I could smell all that food being cooked 😂🤤. -50 really would be extreme! Siberia might be your best bet for those temps 😂😊 I look forward to your next video 😊🥶
Got to love the cold temps. Woke up this past weekend at my camp here in Labrador west. -40 straight temp -53 with the wind. Generator, truck or skidoos wouldn’t start. Great way to start the day. Lol. Love your videos Jay. Keep it up.
Just became a subscriber. Love your shack. I started watching Steve Wallis and he blew up. When I started watching joe robinet at 100,000 he then blew up. So get ready jay. I say a year and half from now you will be nearing 500k. Keep it up.
Great video wow thats cold still waiting on real winter weather to hit us here in Aberdeenshire Scotland the worst usually comes in February but nothing like - 38🥶. That salmon and rice looked great.Really enjoy your videos would love to come visit canada some day.
Hey Jay, you can get a stove and heat exchange unit that slips into your stove pipe, that will help improve the efficiency of your wood stove. As it catches some of the heat lost through the stove pipe, and would also expand its usefulness in cooking.
