As always…. A BIG thank you. I just did this same thing about 2 months. Long story short, after doing my Gen V swap I forgot that I left a rag down by the mount and at initial crank it got sucked in behind the pulley and I had to remove it to get the remainder of the rag out. My biggest issue was finding the proper screws (3x smaller ones that attach to the pulley, I couldn’t find the correct size and length). Eventually I did. After all said and done. It is a very simple process. The most time consuming part was getting the hardware and set up. I’m sure this video will make it much much much easier for the next person. Thanks again!
Good video, remind people not to lose or forget to put the key part in the groove on balancer and crankshaft or balancer may slide out of position. You must not live in the rust belt as those frame bolts loosened up easily or had been loosened previously. thanks.
Thank you man 😊 let's see how My 1st try goes... only thing Im really unsure of is the size of each bolt to remove in case I need to go purchase the right tools. Thanks again my friend 🏆
Cool. If the crank pulley bolt comes out with my impact this should only take me maybe a couple hours. My car occasionally just won't start, but almost starts. I put a fuel pressure gauge on it and that seems fine so I'll try this.
@@brandontodd3630 I used a scanner to monitor my RPM data over time and found my new sensor to be faulty. It reported the wrong RPM and would cause no start and kick back against the starter which I've also replaced now. I replaced with ACDelco and it starts up every time now. Wouldn't start when cold out like below 35 degrees F. Wouldn't start when heat soaked. The original sensor just had issue with heat soaked conditions as far as I knew
I bought my 2007 GP GT in 2013 and still own it today. It's been a love/hate relationship lol. I've had my GP leave me stranded and towed more than I care to admit. I've also had the crank position sensor and ignition control module both replace 4 times since owning the car! These sensors must not be well made or I just have a lemon
Try going through and remove and clean all the ground or bonding connection from engine to fram and or body. It sounds like a loose connection brother.
You forgot to mention a VERY IMPORTANT detail that wasted me A TON of time. You must have an impact gun to remove the crankshaft bolt. If you don’t have one then watch a couple videos on how to remove without impact gun.
Could a bad crank sensor also cause the speedometer to malfunction/jump around? 1997 Buick LeSabre. Both the Speedometer and the Tach either do nothing, or then start jumping/dancing at random. I am getting a P0336 Crankshaft Position Sensor "A" Circuit code. The OBD scanner is able to read the actual mph when the car is in motion, so I don't think it is the speed sensor.
I have 2001 pontiac grandprix, it is running fine. Given the age do you think it is a good idea to change the crank shaft position sensor in my car as a preventative maintenance?
Would it cause a hard cold start or when turning the steering wheel to both sides at extreme pull and making car shut off and does it make a noise when failing on the right side of car near the front right wheel? and then car starts up again? or is that an ignition switch fail? just replaced belts, tensioner and water and ps pumps... its 140 k '01 gtp Thanks again for the video Salem....
Just bought a 2000 Lesabre with 82K miles. Was running great and then the engine just shut off while driving and also when in park. Starts right away, but shuts off in less than a minute. I think this might be the problem. thx
@@scotthightower9481 Thanks but my mechanic figured it out which was I have a defective fuel tank. When filled up, it allows some fuel to flood the vapor canister which then floods the engine and shuts off. The fix was to replace the tank which would have been about $1400 for tank and labor. Or just not fill it up. that's what I did instead. Runs great, but I can't fill it all the way up. Luckily I average 28 mpg and can go about 400 miles on 3/4 of a tank
@@SalemDoyle Good to know-Thx.. Fixin to change one on my 2000 Lesabre. I have an Xtool D8S that has a relearn option, but seems some folks cant get the relearn to work, so hopefully I wont even need to mess with the relearn..
hi bro i have a grand prix 2005 , and when i start the car it stars shakings and after it turns off , i have changed the timing belt front gasket due to a leaking , pleas i need your help .
