That was excellent, both of you are excellent! Looks like you are both very close in performance and the type of weather that day determines who will win. Btw, I built a lot of 383s and loved all the small block strokers.
I read through some of the comments.... I just had to say, seems like we have a bunch of 15 Y O claiming they know how to make cars faster. These cars are remarkable......
Damn I wanna build the 408 camaro but with automatic, trans am and mini rubbed and with a small nitrous plate system maybe 75 to 150 shot. Awesome affordable street/strip/cruise car
408 has too much cam for the street. The 383 has a more streetable cam with more torque and hp down low in the rpm range. 408 looks like a better index car on the strip but you pay a lot more for those 25 cubic inches and running higher rpms.
Wish i could have gone 383 on my lt1.. With wife and kids was only able to afford 355 forged rods and pistons. Gona have to rely on some spray to keep up with them big dougs...
YES SIR SPRAY ALWAYS EVENS THE SCORE, ESPECIALLY IF YOU CAN HIDE IT....NITROUS EXPRESS MAKE A STEALTH LS3 INTAKE THAT LOOKS COMPLETELY STOCK BUT HIDE ALL THE PLUMBING AND SOLENOIDS INSIDE THE INTAKE...ITS A TOTAL MONEY MAKER FOR STREET RACING LSX MOTORS...
ElteeMullet in all technicalities, you don’t stroke an LQ block either. By that logic you don’t put a 4 inch crank in anything 🤷🏼♂️ just put a 3.9 Inch crank in
Great vid man. If its not a bid deal and you have some time. Is there any way you can send me a pic of the pewter camaro (rear). I want to do tinted tail lights+barger tail panel. We have similar color scheme. It would help a great deal.
NO THE MANUAL TRANS IS KILLING IT, IF THAT 408 HAD A STALLED 4l85--E AND 4.11'S OR 3.73''S IT WOULD HAVE BEEN A DIFFERENT RACE.....i WOULD ALSO HAVE A 150 SHOT ON A BUTTON TOO FOR WHEN IT WAS HOOKED UP IN THE MIDDLE OF 1ST OR RIGHT WHEN IT SHIFTED 2ND!!!
Beautyjuicynay02 autos win thats why the black car was better out the hole in every race that and traction it wasnt till the 408 started running him down on the big end but was taking to long cause the auto still had gears if the silver car had 2 speed pg 400th or even a 4l80 it wouldnt of been a race 6 speeds are fun ripping through the gears but so is wining races
@@emertwall9427 I agree with that, BUT you as a driver have to adapt to conditions. 4 Grand launch at the track is fine, on the street? Never going to work out with a stick. 1,500-1,800 is all you'd need. Dump it and slowly get into the gas. Probably won't get to WOT untill second gear. So what, dude didn't put a bus length on you right off the jump. On top of that, his trans may be built, but he still can't drive it as fast as it could be. At no point should your go foot come off the floor. If it does, go automatic.
Rob Akers no disrespect to your comment but in the street while you’re sliding the clutch on that stick car that automatic car will be gone. The only reason that stick car is running back to him on the top is because he has a lot more horsepower.
bykrdood7 that's REALLY slow to be honest. I did a basic head/cam build on my camaro and ran 11.7 with a 10 bolt rear (baby'd the launch). That car should be running 10s on the motor no question.
In the comments you say the 408 runs 11.9 thats quicks but for an LS 408 thats a dog... you need a built auto a good stall like a yank or something.. fab 9 with 3.90s.. itd be muchhhhhh faster.
This is in Albuquerque where we have 7500-9000ft DA. Everything is about 1.2-1.5 seconds slower up here. The 408 car now has a built TH400 with brake and 3.50 gear. Went mid 10s now.
bykrdood7 that’s a high ass DA I get pist when people make stupid comments about my 5000 plus Da here in Vegas. But your Da is insanity lmao. Great cars
Auto and if its built its probably got 3.73s or something. autos are always faster in the quarter. but 6 speeds are better on rolls. he was catching him on both races
